Those two things can be true at the same time. A QB can't control everything, it's a team sport. Pat mahomes could preform better than any other QB and the Cheifs could still lose because of other things(bad defense, poor play calling from coaches, etc.)

2007 Brady led the most efficient offense ever. Admittedly, the 2018 Chiefs offense were probably top 5 all time, too. Still, slightly different era... 2018 was a year of offensive explosion.

@@elderking9232 Right, but you can't ignore context. Both QBs have been flawless, but 3 games into a regular season is way too soon to crown Mahomes with anything other than a potential great. Max said "Mahomes is playing better than any QB ever", and is attempting to base that on 3 regular season games. That's a joke. Playing QB is 70% mental, and the playoffs is what reveals how good you really are. Every few years these guys attempt to crown a QB as "better than Brady" and every few years Brady makes them look like fools. If you don't see that pattern then you haven't been paying attention
Right now Mahomes is the flavor of the month and is putting up the best numbers, but there is always a different QB who puts up slightly better numbers than Brady on any given year. The mark of a great QB is consistency. It's way to soon to be slobbering all over Mahomes. Brady has been the most consistent QB in the history of the game for 20 years. The only thing Mahomes has proven is that he can put up big numbers in regular season games. Lots of QBs have been able to do that in the past

Put Mahomes in a close game, and see how he does. Last year trailing the Rams, he had 2 chances to come back, and failed. He could not compete in the Big 12. If he is that great a player, then he is winning. He has the benefit of Reid's scheme. He throws to open guys all the time. This year, he has not played as well as Dak. From a arm talent perspective, he is the standard. Jeff George had a great arm. Mahomes is a better QB than George. Rogers is a better talent running the ball than Mahomes. Throwing the ball, they are close, from a talent perspective.

David LS that’s always been my biggest gripe with the Rodgers vs Brady debate. It always turns into “bUt BrAdY’s TiTLeS.” Like no one is denying he’s the GOAT of success. But when it comes to talent/skill his numbers do not stack up to Rodgers. There can be 2 GOATs given the right circumstances, this being one of them. If you suddenly took Rodgers and Brady and gave them the same amount of titles, nothing would be up for debate. Rodgers has better stats, more talent, and would have the equivalent titles. It doesn’t make sense to toss Rodgers off to the side when he’s literally the best QB the NFL has ever seen.
