    Roy Keane would make an excellent Players Standards coach. What I mean by that is someone who specifically focuses on the players mentality and their standards. When Keane was captain at United, he was a hard man both on and off the pitch. He was in the same mind as the manager, high standards on and off the pitch. Keane is well know for his anger and hardness towards plays on the pitch, on the training ground and else where at the club. He was not afraid to hold back his views and opinions BUT what made Keane great is his passion and high standards of the game. As a pundit, one of the things he complains about most with his old club is the players, more so than the manager because he see's lack of passion, desire, movement and effort from many of the players, something as captain of the club during his day he would never allow. Keane as well as Paul Scholes have said time and time again that whilst as a player receiving a wage from the club, a player should put in 100% regardless of their issues with the club. If you have issues with the club you go see the manager, if the issues cannot be resolved you ask for a transfer BUT still giving 100%. Today's players do not do that and there is no way Keane would accept that.

      @bconway9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s a sad indictment of the Utd dressing room that I first read this and thought it’s a reasonable idea.
      That should be what Maguire and the other senior players do in the dressing room. Great teams have players there who set the standard for everyone else. You think Keane did it all by himself in his playing days? No, he had men like Jaap Stam, Schmichael, the Nevilles and Beckham who set the standards in training and in games. At other clubs you can see what players set the standards, City have DeBruyne, Fernandinho and Dias. Chelsea have Tiago Silva andAzpelecueta (I think that’s sport right 😅). Liverpool have Henderson, Salah, Milner, Van Dijk. All the great teams have leaders.

    • @tendaimatambanadzo5900
      @tendaimatambanadzo5900 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dodge M so in your opinion Keane would win trophies because he would have a team effort report card for each other and bawl at them in the dressing room or make them run extra at training and this is what would transform United into winners🙊
