Kwasi Kwarteng hasn't got a PhD in Economics, he's got a PhD in Economic History. His thesis was called ''Political thought of the recoinage crisis of 1695-1697.'' Which is what he most likely used to come up with the figures for his mini budget. Before that, he read Classics and History at Cambridge. He's basically a historian trying to do the job of a mathematician / statistician.
I mean Tbf he did work as a financial analyst for JP Morgan and hedge funds. U don’t get those jobs without knowing quite abit about economics. That being said it doesn’t mean he’s perfect, from all I’ve heard he’s a pretty smart guy who’s just made a massive mistake and Liz truss who I geniuely believe is an idiot is refusing to allow him to change hence the suggestion they have been arguing.
This show is less biased towards the left, and therefore attracts a bigger audience. Not everyone wants biased, devisive politics rammed down our throats.

TBF, the Euro now is also approx equal to the US dollar. The present economic turmoil has led to people putting their money into the US dollars until things settle down, so all other currencies, including our Canadian dollar, are now worth less in US dollars.
