I am really glad I watched this all the way through as it is a wonderful idea. I will give you a quick tip on cutting the edges really fast and really straight. Get a fabric rotary cutter (like quilters and sewers use), and a thick ruler (also sewer's and quilters use them) and you don't run the risk of cutting yourself and in no time you can cut through all the layers. I even cut heavy chipboard with my rotary cutter. Works great. Just don't try to use the rotary cutter on fabric after its been used on paper. LOL I have subscribed to your tube - looking forward to watching more of your handy tips like this.

      Thanks Kelly,
I got tired of keeping all the scraps thinking one day I will use that on something. So I make my tags and extra paper out of the scraps after each project. Thanks for taking the time to leave me your comment. That was very sweet of you.

What a creative tip - TFS! I know what I am going to be doing with my scraps now, instead of throwing them away with a heavy heart. Gorgeous tags and things!

I save all my strips that are long enough to go across a tag. Or before I'm finished with a project I will take a sheet of paper and use up all the scraps and then use that for pockets or tag, etc... Thanks for the lovely comments.

Lisa Fisher No vid, sorry. 😕 But I've glued coordinated scraps to a 9x12 back to use for a base in mixed media wall art collage, leaving a tight space between each piece. Mosaic-like. Then I painted a coordinated color between each one, like grout. Then I added my elements on top to finish the project. I'll be glad to share OneDrive files if you want to see a couple.

Don't be afraid to use different thicknesses of paper together. I do it all the & they can be charming. You'd be surprised. Also papers don't have to match as far as colors. Together since they are so little, they can really work. They are suppose to be a mish-mash of various pieces. I wish l could show you some of mine but my stash is low right now. I think you are trying too hard.❤️✂️🖇🎀🖌🖍

There is a way to use up every bit of paper actually.... it is using the fabric patchwork method... have a look at a video by NIk the Booksmith (her Franken papers are fab!) for larger pieces: th-cam.com/video/1HJFrH5HCaw/w-d-xo.html and also have a look at Paper Snippets from Artzology .... th-cam.com/video/wxEH84WeWe4/w-d-xo.html worth bearing with tutorial, which is long... but I watched it three times... working alongside her tutorial the third time round!... I was not sorry... I have lovely pieces which can become Tags, pockets, Book spines, or even a page edge embellishment!

I'm sorry, I must have missed answering you comment until now, you are so right about the ruler, sometimes while filming you just have those brain tottoles, as I call them! Lol
      Thanks for the advice!
      Hugs Lisa

The purple flower paper isn't ugly, it's pretty.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I guess I was just so tired of having that paper. I wanted to see if you knew about my Scrap Buster playlist. Lots of great ideas for using up your scraps. Thanks for watching!

Have never understood why people use exacts knives when scissors would do, no cutting into the wrong place, just trim the excess. Seems to me you are making a simple task complex.

You are so right, not sure why I did that but all I can say is I have since made another "use your scraps " video and I did use a paper cutter. Yeah me! Lol. Thanks for watching and for taking your time to comment

Also, you are wasting time by "prepping " you scraps. What's the point? And l saved much smaller scraps that you're showing. Another tip: good glue sticks work great on paper & they are so much quicker & it dries faster than liquid glues. Try Elmer's Extreme glue stick if your worried about strength. It costs a little more but well worth it. And it's cheaper than liquid glues, that l save for other.projects. And relax & quit trying so hard.

Scissors work better than x-acto knives. I hope l'm not sounding critical. I really just want to help.
