    I really like these videos where you hone in on a specific type of crime or mystery. It just goes to show how much is out there. I've said this before but we will never, ever run out of books to read - thankfully!

    I’m on the hunt for The Traitor’s Mark! It sounds great. I’ve read quite a few in the Gabriel Allon series. Thanks for the suggestions, Janelle!

    Can't wait to hear what you think of The Traitor's Mark! That series looks intriguing. Looks like only 3 in the series. Sometimes I like a short series. These have been great videos, Janelle. Appreciate all the work I know you put in to these. ❤

    All of these books are new to me! Several sound tempting!! I love Ngaio Marsh's Inspector Alleyn books. His wife is an artist, so the series has a few about art. Thank you! Gonna miss your daily visits next month!! I know you are ready for some time away from YT 😊

    Some great choices. I have some in the Ian Pears series that I need to get to. I've read a three book Australian art crime series by Katherine Kovacic, where the sleuth is an art dealer. I particularly enjoyed the last book which was also an Australian country house mystery, with murder and a disappearing colonial masterpiece.

    I've read some of the Daniel Silva mysteries and they were pretty good. They are more "crime" type, not puzzle type if you know what I mean. That's if I'm remembering correctly. I think the earlier ones were more enjoyable. Good research Janelle. So many genres and not enough time!

    • @TooFondofBooksJH
      @TooFondofBooksJH  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Silva series is more crime than puzzle.

    I’ve never thought about art crime before, so another great rabbit hole is open lol. I’d love to try Daniel Silvia’s series - I’ll be on the lookout for the first in the series. These all sounded pretty interesting.

    Hi, Janelle. I have not read any of this series to recommend personally, however, an artist/author I watch online recommended these books: the Genevieve Lenard mysteries by Estelle Ryan, 15 books published from 2012 to 2021. All of the books have 'Connection' in the title, the first being The Gauguin Connection.

    Thank you for another fantastic video. I love these sleuths and crimes by type. So much fun! The Traitor's Mark looks fabulous! I would love to recommend Portrait of a Murder, the first in Michael Jecks' Art of Murder series featuring artist and accidental sleuth Nick Morris. Jecks writes the wonderful Knights Templar series, so I have been looking forward to reading the new series. Unfortunately I am still on the waiting list at my library for this book. Perhaps I'll get my hands on it in time for next year's MMM. Sorry!

    I just did a quick look in my book case and found one called ‘the apothecary house’ by Adrian matthews, haven’t read it yet but it sounds really good (an old woman that storms into the rijksmuseum and demands a painting she claims is hers, after that she starts to receive threats)

    Messenger of Truth by Jacqueline Winspear is about a murdered artist. I am almost through reading it, not my favorite of the Maisie Dobbs series so far.
