      the Albemarle County VA police 🚔 issued .40 HK USP Compacts for many years. I think they used the TDA or traditional DA-SA format. I myself like HK's LEM or law enforcement modification version. much like a DA only but smoother pull, no hammer spur.

    • @Totemparadox
      @Totemparadox ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's another way to make a gun more safe to carry. You have pretty much two big camps. Single Action and safety. You pull the gun, flick the safety off and fire with a light short trigger pull. Then there is double action no safety. You pull the gun and just pull the long and heavy trigger to fire. Striker systems are sometimes kinda the same or a mix of the two.

    So the gist of this video is that you decock a handgun that has a decocker by using the decocker? Who would have thought?
    But seriously, it's cool how you can change that on the usp. That's not the case with CZ 75 type guns, for example. If you get the Shadow 2, for example, you can't change it to a decocker from the safety switch, or if you have the SP01 Tactical, then you can't change it from a decocker to a safety switch. I briefly had a leo trade in usp compact .40 caliber, a few years ago. I prefer a heavier, 9 x 19 handgun now, because it's easier for me to shoot.

      Step one: decock the pistol using the decocking lever.
      Step two: Revel in your brilliance."

      to be fair, _there are a whole lot of less-than-intelligent people out there probably shooting themselves by trying to decock their gun by holding the hammer with their thumb and it slipping off._ people are too lazy to read instructions these days, y'know. I bet this video genuinely surprised someone.

      @@capt.raptor4650 actually speaking of that, have you ever seen the video of that cop/security guard in South America who's cocking and decocking his revolver by pulling the trigger and thumbing the hammer, while the gun is pointed directly at his thigh? So yeah, I guess there are stupid people out there. I'm pretty sure he survived the shot to the leg though. I can't imagine how stupid he must have felt, or what his supervisors thought when they saw the video.
