Bts are not limited to be the best only in kpop spaces. Name me a group now better then them. Bts with all their characteristics are unbeatable even if we compare them with legendary groups. There is not and never will be groups as good as them in that many aspects. And in my opinion even many American solo artists are not competition to bts if we really compare all the aspects and the level of work. All we need is to forget about american privelage in our minds and judge objectively all the factors without bias thoughts based on our taste. Bts are not close by the numbers to the biggest artists right now only because they are not american and people have so much prejudice even now. If they were english speaking band so many arists would not have even a chance around them. But I like the things as they are, it makes bts succes even more legendary. "Only time will sort it out". Let's talk about that 30 years later.

We can’t compare them to the “legendary” groups because those groups are not legendary, BTS is the actual legend. If anything, their sunbae groups are classic groups more than legendary. Popular, nostalgic, hit makers, yet limited to their own spaces; meanwhile this also applies to og western groups except even though those weren’t limited to their own spaces, they lacked the efforts of performance, lyricism, choreo, consistency, etc.

Whenever people want to make the "next BTS" they forget a couple of things:
    1. One of the reasons why BTS is so loved and popular is because they are not trying to copy anyone else. They have their own style, their own message and their own charms. They are unique and stand out. Trying to copy someone will never work in the long term.
    2. People often forget that, even if they would manage to somehow find the next BTS, it doesn't mean they'll find the next ARMY as well. BTS' talent, work ethic and love for the fans has created a fandom community so rare, strong, united and organized that it cannot just be replicated like that.
    3. Why are people trying to create the next BTS when the original one is still here and here to stay? Sorry to break it to those delusional people but, as long as BTS is still here making music, there will never ever be any other group that comes even remotely close to what BTS does.
I listen to a lot of artist and I LOVE LOVE LOVE music. I can't live without listening to music. Whether people consider BTS the best or not, all l know is: out of all the artists I've watched perform and listened to in my life so far, NONE of them have been able to make me feel the way BTS does. BTS makes me feel loved, appreciated, accepted, heard, seen, valued and respected. They spread so much love and their music is so powerful. I personally have never experienced it with another artist. BTS will always be special to me and they will always be my number 1 artist till the day I die. Idc if they're recognized or not (I mean, I want them to be of course bc they deserve it but I don't need them to be recognized for them to be my forever artist I mean.)

That's a good point that I don't see often mentioned in these discussions. Yeah, you can create a group, but can you create a dedicated fanbase? There has to be some kind of connection.

From the very beginning, BTS was way ahead of K-Pop! Tackling on topics that were taboo in SK all together! Open and honest, what you see is what you get, no pretend. Their musicography is so diverse that they are not afraid to step outside of the box and explore different genres, and the solo era has shown the world of their endless musical knowledge. Their lyrics have purpose and meaning! Even their choreographies are all about art. BTS will always be the best because music is their priority, so they always work hard to release amazing masterpieces, their global recognition and achievements as a group and as solo artists are a testament of their raw genuine talent as individuals. BORAHAE! APOBANGPO!

“stay dangerous” you’re so right, and bts agrees. they already set themselves as the biggest group, 11 years into their career, but their quality only keeps getting better, they never settle or conform with what they have they’re always working harder to be better, as artists and even people. i think that’s so rare to find.

  • @ZariDV
    @ZariDV 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +57

I don't think Bora's point is that dance/choreography cheapens performances in general. Her point is that asking someone who cannot dance and who isn't good at following cheorography to now add that to their performance needlessly would cheapen the performance. There's no need for artists to display performance elements that they're not talented at. I love Adele down but dont nobody want to pay to see someone who can't dance struggle bus through a two step for 5 minutes while we wait for the end of the song to put her out of her misery.
Now if she learned to dance well enough for it to make sense for dancing to be added to her set, that's a different story. But at that point, it's a different scenario from what Bora is talking about. She's referring to idols who are forced to do skills that they aren't good at and companies making them do it anyways because they want the image of groups being able to do everything.

When I discovered bts, I decided to try to get into multiple K-pop groups. Literally after a month, bts was the only group I liked and knew. I still listened to some K-pop songs but since 2 years ago, I got bored of K-pop. I got bored of everything kpop related and only focused on bts. K-pop just became mediocre and lazy to me.

The TS comment , i agree so much but it’s cuz she has the support of the media that BTS doesn’t , like you see everyone in the media saying that she is the best in her lyrics , like a poet or something like that when I don’t see it at all , specially if you put RM next to her. And let’s not talk about how she inflate her sales with different new versions after she couldn’t do bundles anymore.
And her being a darling of the Grammys too.
So imagine if BTS actually have that support of the media , that the actual media recognize their higher than abridge abilities, just imagine HOW much bigger actually BTS is.
Like just look what happened when Bts just got a little support of the radio with dynamite and butter , but at the same time it was cuz the US company invested on doing those songs and took the credit as the songwriters behind the success of BTS and saying stuff like that in all those interviews that were so cringy to watch.
You never see that from the media about RM and the rest of the rapline. Nothing. And even SK they just say bang Pd or pddog which is true that they actually did a big contribution but again , NO ONE with big influence in the media recognize their abilities. The most close we got now is jk cuz for the same reason , the music is done by those US companies and again they are saying that they are doing the next Justin Timberlake( they literally said that in an interview ).
I swear it’s gonna be an apocalypse the moment they get actual recognition for their abilities above abridge , like the songwriter , producing , rapping , dancing , stability in singing while dancing and ofc their passion they have with music that honestly most of the mainstream performers don’t have or not show at all.

You know what kills me, too? Music charts consistently trying to hide or ignore them.
Suga had the 15th highest grossing rap tour of all time. Meaning he beat Tyler the Creator, Wiz, Future, Childish Gambino, Doja Cat, Beastie Boys… but Billboard ignored that and pretended he didn’t count as a rapper.
And that’s him as a soloist alone.

BTS has so many things going for them. They can sing, dance, rap, perform( and by perform I mean born to be on stage), sing live and dance, concepts, lyrics and production. Now, other artists, including Western artists, may have 2, 3, or 4 of these things going for them, but they don't have all of them. The Grammy's performance, funny enough, proved that. Their live performances are what made me fall in love with them and have kept me in love with them. They are an all-kill group.
Some of my other faves may be amazing performers and singers, and they can move a little bit, but they can't DANCE.
It is the same reason I fell in love with Prince in the 80s. 🚘🕊

It's the first and only group for which I like more than 98% of the discography (so more than Queen and Depeche Mode who are in my top 3) They are also awesome dancers, perfomers and entretainers. So all rounder artists who work hard til this day, are good human, are handsome (the bonus) AND SUCCEED in their fiel must be the best, so are they.

6:33 10:11 uhh, their company has little to no budget at that time. The rapline even said in Suchwita episode that they were kicked out cause the company has no funds anymore, but BTS has no where to go, cause they also have no money.
So they went back and complained to their company.
I think It's not about the money they invested, but the artistic freedom & nurture they gave to BTS which allowed BTS to continuously improve & became bigger.

Seeing as they let them be artist and we’re not forcing them to do whatever they could to get to bigger money by selling out and being false versions of themselves.

14:27 I disagree. If Adele had songs that could lend to them having some choreo, I'd be down for that. But that isn't the wheelhouse she devotes herself to. If she busted out in some choreo I'd wonder who told her to do that and they should stop. It depends on the musician and what their work lends itself to. Like Beyonce never dancing again would be a travesty because she has made that part of her arsenal but Celine Dion breaking it down and trying to booty shake would seem offputting and fake. I want people who made that part of them to do choreo, not just throw it in there because that's the trend. Following the trend is how artists can fuck up their career. Remember you and Bora talked about this with what Camilla Cabello is doing right now. I also remember when MVs had dancing and were super fun but I think we all cringed a bit during Whitney's I wanna dance with somebody. Beautiful voice but dancing wasn't in her wheelhouse and it looked awkward and silly. I'm for dancing if that's where you are as a performer. I don't like the idea of shoehorning it in because that's the new hotness.

14:40 Nah, performance as dancing is good, but you need to sell performance and dance, otherwise it ruins performance . if you can't dance just get dancers, practice some moves you can pull off to spice it up and focus on emotional delivery of your songs.
Also not every singer has to dance if they simply don't want to, though i believe they should practice atage choreography as in movement and even acting classes to present songs as form of play.
This why bts are above all reset - they do all of it! They dance, sing live, perform emotionally and acting wise, all of the components are created to work with eachother.
When i see other kpop groups often their choreo doesn't match lyrics and it throws me off

10:22 nope. making another "BTS" is not possible in any way. not because labels don't want to spend money like you said lol - PLEASE SM LITERALLY MADE "SUPERM" LMAO we remember how that went. and countless of others have tried. the biggest reason BTS came to the top is their "uniqueness" and how much "relatable" they are to people. PLUS there cannot be another BTS without another ARMY - both fought together a tough battle to get to this point. and continue to do so. It's not possible to recreate another fandom like that.

there will never be another BTS. no group will ever come close. and there have been so many companies that have tried to create groups to reach their level and they’ve failed every single time. even long after BTS retires, settles down, and has their own families; their records and achievements will still be unmatched. no one will ever achieve as many awards, break as many records, and be as globally impactful as them. its just not happening. similar to how there will never be another michael jackson; the legend himself, it’s safe to say the same for BTS. they’ve earned that title.

Since of BTS there are now groups with some level of creative freedom including some who write their own songs or some who have some input into song production and/or concept ideas. However it's still not the norm.

ahh it is hard to talk about BigBang, bc you are right if they stayed clean of scandals and literally on law side, and still do music they would be competition, but in reality all would depent how they would do coming back from military, and we will never know, but you are also right all song were wrote by G-dragon and later T.O.P too but in production it was mostly G-dragon and Teddy, they were unique and were Idols of Idols, most of the 3th generation of kpop (like BTS) saw them as goal. they waren't called king for no reason, but they destroyed it. When they were fully active the were the band with most scandals but still triving bc scandals waren't that huge to lose fans some even may say this were quiet "human" scndals and bc kpop was looked as robotic industry it somehow get the pass, plus YG (comany and CEO) was great and is still at the media play, their scandals were moslty drugs and he minimalize them. But there were always rumors. But with military on horizon shit started to hit the fan. Bc like all the grups in industry members started to go into military when age come so every memeber at the different time and Seungri as youngest would go in when TOP would be back. But in military things started to get mudy for them in Military there were problems with TOP and mental healt and drugs, then Daesung was looked into bc the bulding he owned had illegal buissnes (he was cleared), then Seungri situation blow up, then after military G-dragon was called in bc of drugs case again - offically clered. In reality only Taeyang have clear history, he has wife, kid and normal carrier. G-dragon was active in fashion industly mostly after coming from military for a while he was totally quiet, he was always active in fashion industry in general and he was Chanel abasador for korea thru years (expext break for military). G-dragon annonced new music coming. Daesung focus always was japan he is more popular there, he put out a song not long ago. They all left YG company.
Now officialy BigBang at this time have 3 members G-dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. So T.O.P. had withdrawn from the group and said than he won't make music. And Seungri case you heard about he was officialy only charged with sexual bribery and embezzlement, and there is for sure a lot trown under the rag, especially when case started he had hands everywere but also had great laywers and backs... yeah there isn't really much to talk in theoryclub he was involved in scandal and all that come with it opened in 2018, the rest members were already in military, but with scandals around them thru years, plus how Seungri case was looking, all info and how it ended, it ended with minimal. it leaves bad taste... I dont know how much they knew, honeslty bc it could be all options, like they knew something shady was going but not in detial, or some may know more then rest, there is also option that they really didnt know much, bc honeslty Seungri knew his memebers if he knew they would be angry etc then why say but he could also say some things not enought to get situation in full, there is also a option that they knew of course... hmm they never talked about it after it happened, in reality only Taeyand was active much anought to give interview etc, he always say only positiv thing about band not going in details and dosent talk about memebers that left, also nobody really asked him. So for sure it is very controled by his PR so nobody ask about it, also why ask it would only bring negative vibe around you don't really want that.
So yeah it is hard to talk about them bc there were huge and had potencial to be bigger but ethics hmm, they were from very young age (some 13 y.o.) under YG, he as person has shady reputation, very petty and connected, it was also different times when they stared. I think there were more problems then people knew but it was hide very well, escecialy with mental stuff and parties.

He is talking about sales with versions and mass streaming. In the beginning I also didn't like that, but now I understand that it is the reason why bts are worldwide, thanks to armys who knew how good they are and who gave thier love and time to strangers.
But people don't understand that to do so, you need to uppreciate them so much. I will never do something similar to any artist or human I am not close with. They think we are crazy fans by doing that, but only the guys dezerve my effort and it's not because I have crush on them, I don't wanna date them and etc, they moved my heart as humans and artists. That's the only reason. This Earth never have seen the artist who did something similar with their fans.

@@user-rn2do4nd2gsame, if I say I'm a BTS fan, people immediately think I'm into them because I'm sexually/romantically attracted to them.
Which is inaccurate in so many levels, if BTS fans were fans because they find them good looking, then other kpop groups would have as big or bigger fandom than BTS. Considering most BTS don't even fit the beauty standards.
Also, I've never been a fan of boybands, Kpop, and even pop in general.
I'm a fan of BTS because I find beauty in their depths woven through their art, music, circumstances, history, philosophy, and them as artists and as human beings.

in my opinion i feel like ppl who find taylor being surface level have a certain perception of her due to her bigger hits being her fun pop songs, like how with bts it’s dynamite, butter and permission to dance. but just like with bts, taylor is a very good storyteller if you deep dive into her music! she’s both good with a glitter pen and a quill which is what i personally find very fascinating about her! but ofc just like with anything, not all music will resonate with everyone and it won’t be certain ppl’s cup of tea either! and when it comes to bts, their success and artistry as a group and as individuals definitely serves as a valid case for them being called the best group!! 💜

Facts, Taylor & BTS are in the same boat. Their over hype pop songs doesn't reflect how great of an artist they are. Which makes ppl think they're overrated, though I'm not TS fan, I appreciate her writing.

@@rafaelsmith5737 exactly!! it really is interesting to see how similar they really are!! they both have had different types of struggles in the industry and obviously taylor has had a easier time getting into mainstream but the perception ppl have of her is often times similar to the perception ppl have of bts who don’t know anything other than their english songs. like bora said, liking the most mainstream or popular artists shouldn’t take away from the fact that they are good!! it’s one thing to not like their music or have other artists you like better but there’re no denying that they are at the top for a reason!!

nope I've been Taylor's fans since before she went more pop. her music was always very surface level. I loved her songs like teardrops on my guitar, our song, etc before the shake it off and look what you made me do.
      it's always been surface.
in my opinion besides bts the only genres of artists that go beyond surface is rap/hip hop and rock
very few pop artists go deeper like beyonce does.
there's a difference between powerful and deeper than the surface in my opinion. you can make powerful songs but going deeper where most artists don't go unless they're indie is very difficult unless you make hip hop or rock music.

@@VictoriaLovesMusic the songs you mentioned are her dynamite, butter and ptd songs. that was my point, that she has a lot of fun pop songs but when albums like folklore and evermore exist, and even a song like all too well, i can’t agree that she’s just surface level. and it’s not just specific to those albums, i can name many songs where her writing shines through!! her ability to tell a story is a major reason why a lot of us love her!! and beyoncé is another artist who also has fun dance songs and then deeper songs as well. the versatility of these artists are what makes them great!! but to each their own ofc!!

    • @rafaelsmith5737

@@blissfulmox I think Victoria is referring to the depths of her topic in her music. She's a great songwriter, as shown in Folklore & Evermore.
But her whole discography is generally centered about her life story & love life. Whether you like it or not.
Though there's nothing wrong with that, since she also has political songs here & there and she also has songs about mental health & stuff, but yeah...my point is Taylor doesn't need to be in depth.
She was a country artist and now a pop star, she doesn't need to be political/ anti-establishment or something like that.
Also Shake it off & Look what you made me do ain't surface level at all.
It's pretty much hip-hop for me, not by sound but by intent. If you know the context why she has those songs.
Shake it off/Look what you made me do is literally like BTS idol.

I think BTS's dedication to constantly putting out high quality and "better" material stems from the fact that they have always felt a debt to their fandom. From the get when they were small, disadvantaged and frequently maligned, they always have felt their fandom both protected them and drove their success. Many talented artists are more satisfied with self-congratulation. Not feeling pressure to always get better can be a source of stagnation, resting on one's laurels. I believe BTS is always reinventing itself to some measure. Because they feel an obligation to the fans to do that at a high level they distinguish themselves from the pack

8:31 oh now that the Burning sun scandal is on the surface again it's very risky to say "my big bang"😬 especially on certain platforms, if you have to like them I recommend talking about them only through Taeyang (he's the least problematic). tbh I don't understand why anyone likes dr*g addicts, "murd3r3rs" and rap1sts.. not to mention those who share pr0stitutes to business friends and secretly film multiple s3x partners. unless you want to count only those 3 members.. i still don't see why anyone would want to support them (i don't even want to think how many of them knew what was going on)

Taeyang might be the cleanest (probably due to his faith), but sorry, it doesn't excuse him in my eyes. His partners are shady. As is YG himself. They all knew.

They are just not AS bad.
Also, they've been shading him since like forever, but never took a firm stance against his actions or distanced themselves publically. He was the maknae of BigBang, after all. They just kept going like nothing was up. As a fan, to me, that's a betrayal of trust.

Everything you said about Big Bang is true. G Dragon, TOP and Taeyang are legends for sure. Still not better than BTS overall. Not the same level of lyrical depth along with the banger songs. You are saying the same thing as Boracity. BTS were great artists that were allowed to develop by their label while other great artists were not. However, I still think the BTS rapline is unique within the industry. RM would be RM wherever he went but the three of them are galactic.
