    I would have stopped once I lost the center yellow line. probably would have back it up from there and found a place to back into so I could turn around. I've been here before, rule of thumb for me is, if the yellow lines go away. stop and evaluate.

      Good rule to have. I will definitely keep that in mind for next time.

      You are very welcome! I hope that this serves as a reminder to not get complacent out here and I wish you the best of luck. Drive safe!

    I had a similar problem with the mudflap. I explained the issue to a road call guy in birmingham and he bent it a certain way so that it doesn’t move as much, its been holding up so far.

    No worries being an honest hard working man! Making a difference and a living - getting the job done! Yes, laws and rules are in place for a reason. You have a great safety record, so no worries brother!
    We are never to old or too experienced to making a mistake every now and again. They should have another warning sign telling you (a truck driver) there is no turning possibility for you after this point. The law can meet you half way, to be fair and reasonable to you and other drivers who make fall into this same situation.

      Thank you sir! I do have a clean CSA score and I work hard to keep it like that.
      As I said in the video, it was partially my fault. Complacency will get you killed out here and I’m just glad it was a minor incident.
      Stay safe brother.

    I hope next time if you find yourself in the same situation, that you'll stop, call the county sheriff's and ask them to help you back out. Not detracting from you or berating you. Most sheriffs/cops will look the other way on a citation, if you explain what happened, and ask for help. I've gotten more warnings in my life than tickets, because I don't feed them a line, I just say it how it is. At least the court was lenient with you for your mistake.

    • @delgadotrucking
      @delgadotrucking  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, you are right. I should have done that. When you get caught up in the moment, sometimes your brain has poor judgment. I do try to slow things down so I can think clearly, but in this situation, i clearly made a bad decision with trying to make that turn.
      Another life lesson learned the hard way.

      @@delgadotrucking Yeah, we all make dumb mistakes. We either learn from them, and get better, or repeat them and make life harder for ourselves.
