The twist was from the momentum of the pistons in the engine. The lift itself is from torque, though.
at one point the whole car was in one wheel that's is pretty fucking ass
NewEnglandboy453 i do believe its twist from the torque going through the driveshaft and the resistance from the rear axle. i wish we could see the frame while thats going on. probably looks really nasty.

To those who may not know, those wrinkles are the results of beadlocks that bolt the tire to the rim, otherwise the wheel can sometimes rotate inside the tire
Zeldex Also the weels get smallee at higher speeds so there is much grip/friction at slow speed and less grip/friction at higher speeds, at least that is what dragracing has taught me

Zeldex Beadlocks are because otherwise the tyre would pop off the rim at high speeds and wheel would spin inside the tyre. Wrinkles come because the drag racing tyre has very soft sidewalls and low pressure.
Racing slicks have thin side walls too

just in case nobody informed you that's a diesel and most of the smoke settles to the ground.
The ozone layer is destroyed by CFCs which come from things like old refrigerators and aerosol cans. Not from car emissions, which impact global warming. The ozone layer is important because it protects us from UV radiation.

To those who are asking about the tires. They are called WRINKLE WALL Tires. They are manufactured in this way so that you can transfer the most torque to the track and get a quicker launch time off the line. Doing a Burnout prior to treeing up, heats the tires to better allow the Wrinkle Walls to wrinkle. This is an old technology, used since the 1960s, specifically developed for the dragster and funny car brackets.

Not really...diesel smoke falls to the ground once expelled from the exhaust pipe. The soot just goes back into the earth and really has no affect on the atmosphere at all. Diesel fumes arent even lethal like gasoline. Read a fucking book before spewing completely false info!
but doesnt the exahaust gasses from a diesel warm up the earth by trapping the heat from the sun on the ground?
@@samk5500 youd need an aweful lot of soot for that....id think you would need an actual visible buildup on the ground and so far ive never seen such a thing. It just mixes back in with the soil.

Why do drag cars sometimes launch while seeming to lean to the right?
Due to an engine being a rotating assembly, torque going to the rear axle will twist the entire frame of the vehicle. Know as torque twist.
The reason they lean to the right, is because the drive shaft spins right.
dpending on how much toruqe your engine produces is how much twist you get
Especially with a v8 engine
