welp ive had chassis twist and thats just something some cars do . some cars just do it and its not a bad thing and some twist and they are shot. Then you have cars that are sub frame. when you get power subframe connectors and or a cage helps from twisting. big thing needed on foxes and convertible cars
Back in 98' Me and a few cousins stuffed a Chrysler 440 in a 65' Ford Falcon. The 440 was a HiPo from 1970...3 2barrel Holleys, heads, exhaust, few other goodies. Made well over 400hp and probably 600+ lb ft and in a car that only weighed a lil over 2000lbs it was the fastest thing around at the time. To make a long story short...it took us about 3 weeks of giving her hell to notice how bad the frame was bending. Did we care?...not really lol. My brother fell asleep behind the wheel and put the falcon in a ditch about a year later. We yanked the 440 out and put it back in a Barracuda. Motor ran strong for about 4 years till she blew.
I've been watching these big rig drags for a long time too, but when I saw 1320 was doing the video I was happy, cause it won't be grainy bad video. These things are monsters!

Speaking as a 30+ year on-highway diesel mechanic, DAMN!! Some people just can’t appreciate the amount of torque that these engines are producing. It’s amazing that the drivelines don’t break more often. SIMPLY AWESOME MACHINES!!
Running heavy equipment and dirt/gravel etc in offroad conditions, I've seen driveshafts turned into pretzels plenty by people who don't know when to quit and get help when stuck. I totally agree with you that the odds of them not snapping the drive line somewhere is insane luck, based in skill, or somewhere between.
As a driver, I know how crucial that 4-5 shift is when loaded. That’s why here you’ll see guys bog down towards the big end just before the hill - you have to switch to high range and if you don’t get the revs just right, you can miss the gear or break something. In a stock truck when bobtailing, you *can* start off the line in 4th, maybe 5th without stalling if you know how to sync the clutch and throttle. I would love to give this a try one day.

Seeing as most of the trucks in this video are shifting H pattern transmissions, it is not unreasonable to assume they are using 13 or 18 speeds, which is what I was referring to with regards to shifting to high range and bobtail off the line.
Probably enough boost to pump up a semi tire. Insane. I'd love to see the flywheel/clutch setup to hold that torque. Gosh, even the U-Joints have got to be impressive units.
As some one who has personally picked up the clutch in barley legal. I don’t remember the exact weight but it’s a 2 dude lift so it’s at least that heavy
I've watched this Quebec-neck content for years, since 2012, and it is SO NICE to see the 1320 production quality come to this niche as well! First you guys go to almost every drag-week event, then to these, cover almost every niche promod like racing including street racing I didn't know AND you cover Texas stuff like the Lambo/GTR runway stuff. Cannot thank you enough.

I've been going to these races since I was a teenager. I love it. I have to say this is by far the best video coverage I have seen for truck drags.Especially watching from inside the cab. Hats off to you 1320 and keep up the great work!
I'm so glad 1320 is showing some of the big rig side of the racing culture. I know we don't hit the 200 mph traps or anything like that, but it's still a fun time with passionate gearheads
Unless you've pulled a load professionally, it's hard to describe just how amazing these machines really are. 60 tons of freight is not your average haul. Just incredible. No wonder they were breaking down toward the end.

This was a wicked reminder of when I was a kid. My dad used to bring his longnose 60 series peterbilt to my high school and leave huge, solid black strips up the parking lot on friday when he would come home for the weekend. Teachers and principals used to clap and cheer as we tore it up. Long live the Semi.
First of all a 60 series is a Detroit engine not a truck , and ain’t nobody pushing enough power in a multi torque Detroit to leave black marks across a parking lot

I'm fairly certain the rotation of the earth was disrupted during the filming of this event. Cool. Huge thanks to all of our truckers though, if it weren't for you guys we wouldn't be where we are now! And you can race em, which is also cool.
@@893R6-w8t most of these trucks run loads regularly so they don’t wanna ruin their “business” blowing the motor and having downtime. Also a 2500hp diesel is pretty rare in a pickup truck and usually only lasts a handful of passes. Hard to find transmissions to hold that torque (3-5000)

At 120000 lbs there is about 6000 lbs of weight per tire on the front. The torque number is probably 3000 plus

Most definitely, they’re probably over engineered like crazy and very robust.
The stock clutch in one of these weighs about 150 pounds. A 10 speed trans weighs 5-600 lbs
