    Hi Rob, just done this, easier than I thought and didn't take long at all. Cheers for putting the video up mate.

    My man Rob! Great job! And great new intro too!!

    Rob - you forgot to mention that the nyloc nut should be tightened down and then turned back a quarter or half turn to allow the tie-bar to pivot....... and next job is to fit a shouldered bearing into the back of the tie-bar to prevent the tie-bar hole from going oval........ very easy job to do, but you ideally need an 11mm End Mill (flat bottomed) drill bit.....

      I have enough room on the shoulder of the stud so that it doesn't tighten down on the tie bar and I actually mentioned it 😎

    Like your honesty in your videos i.e when the tap falls out of the holder that sort of thing happens all the time except with me it rolls under the bench and you have to lay on the floor with a torch trying to find it or a bit chips off where it lands on the floor rendering it useless 😂

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It saves me from making a bloopers video 🤣 It's easy to lie on video, If I do something stupid I tend to show it as I think most people can relate. Non of us are perfect.

    a tip for tapping that thread straight is to leave the piece that you have drilled in the drill press vice put your tap in the drill chuck and turn the tap by hand

      I know but my press was too low.

    I did this on my present lambretta great idea ,I knew about it but after loosing 3 circlips in the space of 20 minutes I decided time to do the conversion

  • @gnordh
    @gnordh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is a great tip as the circlip is a pain to reach and remove if needed...

    Nice job Rob, losing one of those minuture circlip on the side of the road is a real pain apparently 🙄. Surprised more suppliers dont market this easy upgrade Love the new intro btw 👍

      Thanks. Yeah it's a product more dealers should have ready available. A conversion that people have done for years and save a lot of faffing about.

      @@kickbackgarage pretty sure that Andy Francis does these off the shelf - and that fella in Doncaster does too - he doesn't like crediting anyone else in his posts - so neither will I...... lol...

      He said no when I asked a few years ago because of supply probs on the gp type gear selecter arms. Which are preferable because they don't go sloppy.

    GP gear arm is bitch to fit, gearbox strip, but it's an upgrade to the Li version the splines are a weakness, GP is a solid arm one unit,
    I'm just fitting the MB Scooters GP gear arm, the stud and nyloc are already converted in the MB arm.

    Rob just a query about another matter,have you any ideas as to why my lambretta rear wheel looks like its leaning more to one side.thanks for any help.

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be something simple, like silent block wear, or if you wheel is a bit loose it could be poorly shimmed gearbox or even loose gearbox endplate.
