I bought my first Westin rod last year and WOW very impressive and that was the entry level W3. I have used many soft plastic shads over the years and my tackle bag is full of Westin I just have faith in their catching ability. I put Westin lures in my top tier list with Zman and Rapala, no reason to search else where for me.
*Good day! In Latvia drop shot fishing is a number one at zander and big perch fishing, because our fish is too passive and lazy for active baits and fishing techniques*
Great video lovely perch. Great tips can’t wait for after work tomorrow now. Find evenings better on lake I’m fishing. It has perch to 5lb. And now introducing 14 pike soon. So even more to fish for it’s barely 1 acre in size. So should be easy to find them.
I fish the Mississippi river in SW Wisconsin for perch. I'm wondering how this would work in the spring perch run. The water is fast at time's with lots of debris in the water. We catch alot of 11 to 15in perch and tons of 7 to 10in one's.
@@haroldmonday2096 I was out the last 2 day's on pool 9. Yesterday was beautiful and I ended up with 6 perch around 11in I kept. Today was real windy and the water was muddy with big waves. I only got 2 perch today but I caught 5 big brown bullheads. I like them in a beer batter.
@@haroldmonday2096 no desire to fish bago anymore now that Im so close to the Mississippi. But if you're out twords DeSoto anytime soon hit me up. I go every weekend from shore and fish big perch
i was introduced to fishing with dropshot last year, and so far dropshot with real worms worked pretty well for me, but i cannot seem to catch any fish with soft lures. I tried some Soft lures on my dropshot but no bites. I think my presentation was wrong, i was trying to hold them still in the water, concentrating on keeping tension in the line. With soft lures am i supposed to wiggle them a little bit all the time? With worms i just hold them steady, and since theyre doing all the moving, i just gotta wait and try different spots, only occasionally wiggling them from spot to spot.
You are right - when fishing with artificial lures (soft lures) you need to add the movement yourself by wiggling/jigging the rod yes. There is many different ways of adding movement, so try to experiment a lot and see what works.
Hi guys, really nice Video and a beautiful place to fish. Im quite interested in how you connect your prepared rigs to the mainline. Are your just tying them in or are you using any Kind of snap to be able to quickly cahgne the rig?
@@mrmax92i Hi, yes maybe ... thats the way i do it... but when he shows his "wallet" of prepared rigs i think he will be able to change the rig quite fast ... therefore a snap or even a knotless connector would be perfect. I thought i say something like a snap in one sitation while they are on the boat. I'm very interested in this because it is really important to have a direct connection to the rig and so if he uses some kind of snap i want to know which one :-)
There is quite a few different Soft Lures used in this video. All the lures can be found at our website on the following link: www.westin-fishing.com/en/products/soft-lures Tight lines from Westin :-)
I like to use live bait. Hahaha. Or lures... whatever's working. I caught 33 striped bass on a bare gold hook in Lake Corpus Christi (Texas). My wife was amazed. I gave them all to an old man who was hungry (and also fishing, but not catching anything). Years later, I caught 13 speckled trout the same way... just by jigging a bare gold hook up and down. That was in Laguna Madre, at night --- in a boat, with a light shining down on a huge school of trout that would not hit a single lure in my brother's collection, nor live shrimp, squid or minnows. I thought it was miraculous. My brother would later claim to have done it "many times" (the bare hook trick)... but with no witness to back him up. He's a compulsive liar. Try it, when they're not hitting anything else --- they like a thin, bare gold hook... God is good.
You guys speak such good English. You put us to shame! How many English people speak such good Swedish?!
Excellent video this is the sort of video I would like to see more on TH-cam. You speak about passion without sound and publicity. Thanks a lot.
Best information on dropshotting I've heard. Thank you.
I like this and jigging, it seems more satisfying when you hook a fish this way
Great video guys, thank you, it’s certainly given me some confidence to try Drop Shotting again, cheers!

What you are calling small, is a decent sized Perch here in the U.K!
Real talk 😂
We still get 50cm perch, loads of 4lbers I’ve seen a 55cm before
from my perspective, this video is super and I will try dropshot this year :-) Thanks Jarda
Many thanks for clear explanations, I use DShot alsow with natural rain worms. From the boat. Kurnishe bay, Kaliningrad district, Russia.
Excellent video with a lot of very good information, great presentation. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words 👍👍

They probably just tie a knot from the mainline (braided) to the dropshot rig (fluorocarbon).

Maybe with quick link swivel or loop to loop
Great video and some good tips on lures. Can i just ask do you join your braid to flourocarbon with a swivel or a knot. Thanks guys.

Musisz je na świerze powietrze wystawić. Też miałem to samo...
Why are you only fishing Pike? it is the worst fish in Norway. It is the Polish mafia dropping Pike in Norwegin waters. We do not want it.
i like the video ,,,,BUT i disagree with you holding fish by the mouth like that ,,please stop !! .
as long as the perch isn't held horisontaly by the mouth only...it's going to be just fine :)
You are talking so boring lol
