The tag end is supposed to be left long so you can move the weight up and down to suspend the bait from 2or3 inches to upto 18 inches of the bottom I cut down a carp tail rubber and put that on before the weight so it doesn't snag when you drag it across the bottom

It's a good rig caught a Pb pike on it a 15lb one do fox make a pike version and a weedless version
I use these in the states for Smallmouth bass. Absolute must have in the Great Lakes region

Drop shot is underestimated. Been far more successful for me than jigging of any style. Live bait will always be king though.
