Written by Canadian singer/songwriter, Charlie Major, "Backroads" draws on early Rock & Roll as much as it does on Country music. As always, Ricky Van's rich voice and smooth style elevate this song, which depicts a man taking a beautiful day off, to cruise the countryside.
