I like to think of the music as an expression of mobius' feelings. I believe up until this point, he did not see the beauty of flight. He was scared. He was a rookie pilot. A boy granted wings out of a desperate hour, but as he slowly proved himself, he gained confidence. This was a turning point for him. AT 2:35, you can hear the moment when he sees the beauty of flight. The energy that had built up inside him from prior missions, and the tension of this mission. It allowed a wonderful release as he experienced euphoria. The maneuvers of the planes, the contrails twisting and spiraling. It was like a dance. Full of grace, form and color.

This motive at 2:35, the "euphoria" or "epiphany" motive, is actually re-used in Ace Combat 5! It's used in the track "First Flight" in AC5, but modified a bit. Nevertheless, it's still a motive that suggest "a gain in confidence" or "a sudden realization", in quite a similar manner in both games! Grimm has his first flight in that mission when this track is playing, making the Wardog squadron complete (after Bartlett's leave of course).
What I liked about Zero's music was that when it came down to fighting aces there where the best. But 4 has the best overall for flying in a hostile environment and making you feel badass.but I like Zero's as well.
Out of the entire game, I loved this mission the best. The music, environment, my white X-02 and a full load of QAAMs...DAMN I want to get my PS2 back out now.
I don't have this game, but this soundtrack's great, 'cause the enemy jammin' signals in this mission, interfer in the radar of Mobius 1, I love this soundtrack.
@airplanekid77 That's what actually happens! There's windmills on the ground on this level and when you shoot them Sky Eye tells you to hold your fire. :P
I remember this mission well. halt the eurasian forces retreat inland, you had to take out Fighter patroles and lots of Transport planes makeing a run for the end of the map. The music was really Epic just like Comona =D
Your allies can actually get shot down in this game rarely and Omega 11 is the more common one to be shot down, usually early on in the mission right after saying that in an extremely deep voice.
Story or not; Zero had the best -Narration-, from the perspective of both the narrator and how your Knight/Soldier/Mercenary rank reflected what others thought of you.
I thought this was the mission where you have to shoot down the blimps using machine gun because they were causing radar interference and that you need to do before the transport plane arrives at the area. I think it was mission 13.

I was unaware it was physically possible to think assault horizon was even a MEDIOCRE game at best. story was generic, DFM and ASM COMPLETELY BASTARDIZED the free flying skill required to play the earlier titles, which is very likely the reason you like assault horizon so much, its just easier
That's all I did too. I enjoyed playing it, but the changed flight dynamics and Cookie Cutter US vs Russia story line was just an insult to the creativity they had poured into creating their own vivid world. Infinity is okay. just okay. I hate that the campaign is only 8 missions, as 90% of the reason I bought past titles was for the immersive story and gameplay. but t is free, so icant expect too much from it.

I guess so. But I wouldn't play it that much. I just played the story and done. The most I will play is AC04, AC5, AC6, AC0, and ACInfinity.
