    Regarding 2.2 being the last update. At least there will be less stress and worry about being sure to take the preparation steps needed. One major regret is the lack of one petal driving and adaptive cruise control.

    Great Job! Thanks a lot for the information and all the insights you give us on the car. What I personally miss most is adaptive cruise and preconditioning of the car (especially as winter is coming). I hope that sometimes in the future these features will become implemented.

    Energy efficiency -- I'd rather see Miles/kWh, and 3 significant digits. Similar to MPG for ICE cars. "Bigger" number = more efficient.
    If some people prefer kWh (or watt-hr) per mile, then how about giving the user a choice of units?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, having a choice would be nice. Usually a manufacturer sticks to one way for all their EVs. I'm used to Wh/mi that my Tesla uses.

    So as one of the early 2.2 testers are you providing feedback to Fisker about how 2.2 is working or not? If so will they be making anymore adjustments to 2.2? Boomer about the Solar Sky %age going away. I enjoyed seeing my %age, especially when I would hit 100% which I have only seen about 2 times. Let’s hope FOA in the future can work w/a third party to get us future software updates. Do you know if torque vectoring works on our cars? What about battery pre-conditioning when you take long trips? I haven’t been able how to figure how to set up seat/side mirror settings. Is this something that is functional or not on our cars. It’s a minor inconvenience when my wife and I are constantly manually readjusting the steering wheel, seats and side mirrors every time one of us is getting in the car after the other has driven it.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, there is a spreadsheet where all of the testers have submitted their individual results, notes and comments. Other than possible bug fixes related to installation, I don’t see 2.2 getting updated. Profile settings for saving mirrors/seats was planned for 3.0. Torque vectoring for 4.0. Battery preconditioning was not listed on the software roadmap.

    My experience with my BMW i3. The miles available change pretty dramatically. I can see as many as 190 miles available at 100% if my previous trips were all highway going at 65 mph on a pretty flat terrain highway. If I am driving around locally in my city I can see as low as 140. That actually makes sense as the same happens in our ICE car. So, that is not surprising, in fact I like the more realistic reading.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's interesting since most EVs get better range in city driving than highway driving (faster = more battery drain).

    Thanks, I like the improvements! With 2.2, do you see real range added on the Charge tab when you leave the car out in the sunlight for a day and then come back (like you left it at 70% and came back to 73%)? Would it be possible to get a full charge this way, to the limit you specify, if you leave the car in the sunlight for the required amount of days in order to reach the specified limit, like 80%?

    Remember when the Ocean was originally rated at 350 miles in One/Extreme trim and 340 miles in Ultra trim? They increased figures by about 10 miles. Do you think they're just using the Lower 340 miles as the base unit of measurement now?

    Here is a curiosity. I have heard conflicting things regarding the 12v. I drive a BMW i3 and my 12v is maintained by the high voltage battery. In fact to change out the 12v you have to disconnect the high voltage from the 12v. I just watched a video yesterday night where the owner said he had to drive his Ocean 2 hr to make sure he had the 12v charged up in case he got the OTA 2.2. He said that before he drove he got a low 12v warning light. I assumed the 12v was being charged by the high voltage when it sits, no?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DaveDarin If everything is working properly, the HV battery pack SHOULD charge the 12V battery. It does so if parked, driving or being charged by EVSE. To force the charging to occur, sit in the driver set and press the brake (ready mode). However, once, you exit, it will turn off. Some people have 12V batteries that are in a weakened state so they either drive it or use a battery tender to help out. Driving it 2 hours doesn’t make sense - it doesn’t need that long. The HV pack can charge it up in 5-20 minutes. With the updated software, the 12V battery is better maintained. Watch some of my other videos in the 12V battery playlist - that will give more insight.

    Funny, your #1 dislike, I see as a major improvement since the mileage is now more aligned with actual driving habits. Seeing 360 miles at the beginning of my trips and not getting 300 miles total when traveling long distances (in excess of over 75mph here in Texas which kills the range), was frustrating for no other reason than feeling cheated out of of those 70 or 80 miles that would disappear in the middle of the trip. It also makes planning the trip easier since I can calculate real mileage instead of guessing at it.
    Hill descend was not part of the update, but some people saw the telltale warning pop up in between the different 2.2 update parts. We didn't know 2.2 was going to be spread out in different parts, so some people drove the car without all the updates, which was probably the cause for that telltale to show up in error.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know, I was wavering on that one myself. Like I said, I will look at this further when I do my next trip. I have been getting very good range on trips. Usually between 330-360 miles on the highway. As an EV driver for many years, there are many factors that can reduce range. My update came in one download and I never saw the inconsistencies between the partial updates. Thanks for your comment.

    Something to test / investigate: When you are hooked up to a L2 charger, and it's programmed to start offering charge at some time in the middle of the night, does the vehicle accept the charge? I found that my Fisker would ignore the charge being offered until an hour or two later, and I always wondered if that coincided to the times when the car partially awakens to charge the 12v battery? So if it's doing that even less frequently now, does that mean a potential longer delay before the car accepts a charge that is being offered?
    Seems like the car needs to be awake or partially awake to accept a charge. Curious what your experience has been, and if you noticed any difference with 2.2?
