I'm just here to make some small corrections vis a vis the History of the bunker, it was an MOD site since the second world war (or War Department as was) where it was a Starfish site (decoy for bombers) for Crewe Railway station, towards the middle of the war it was taken over for use by Mersey Radar as a ‘Ground Controlled Intercept Station' and became RAF Hack Green under Searchlight Command. Hack Green was one of 21 fixed radar stations in the country and one of only 12 fully equipped with searchlights and fighter aircraft control.
following the war and when a replacement was needed for Chain home/G.C.I. it was decided to use the site for the ROTOR programme and that when the bunker we now have on site was constructed, an R6 (semi sunken Bunker) equipped with high powered radar to monitor the skies and act as a link in the Chain for the UKWMO (United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation) The station was closed in 1966, it’s role having been transferred to RAF Lindholme in south Yorkshire.
Following the scrapping of the ROTOR Programme, in 1976 the abandoned site at Hack Green was purchased from the MOD by the Home Office Emergency Planning Division to be converted into a protected seat of government for Home Defence Region 10:2 there was no building works when it became an RGHQ just a conversion which involved putting in things like water storage, Air filtration etc at an estimated cost of 32 Billion pounds, the RGHQ became operational in 1984 where it carried on in that role until a rearrangement of the Civil Contingencies planning in the 1990s where HG was sold off to Rod Seibert who still own the place today and run by his daughter Lucy as Director/Museum manager.
hope you don't mind the corrections
    Dave.

Its got a Darker" side to it in a way they had cyanide for prime minister and other high officials if there was Mutiny and the entrance tunnel is long which is easier to defend against and the cardboard coffins. Cool place if I had money I would love to own it but still a great place.

@@planes124 could you elaborate more on the cyanide? Sounds a bit odd to me

+Matt Attack For WW2 events I cover all sorts, generally generic when doing an early war display as very little insignia was worn.

If I went to a reenactment of world war 2 in ww2 gear but I wasn't part of any groups do you think that's aloud

Why would they kick you out? Even individual reenactors are allowed to come.

How do you get to find out about this type of event?

Generally word of mouth myself but they can be found on facebook and through google searches, I think there are sites which compose lists of reenactment and military history events up and down the country each year.
