For me, it's not that Bluesky is necessarily a left twitter or that X has shifted right, but rather that it is better twitter. For people who depend on social media for things like their business, you live and die by the algorithm. And most if not all platforms have started to take advantage of what I think I want to see in favor of pushing random stuff and ads. Just for the approach of shifting algorithmic controls to the users, I see Bluesky having more potential than what we give it credit for. Migration from Bluesky has come in waves so you tend to see a huge influx and drop off. It's more of a question of how many users stick around. However, I do agree that it is already a success as a proof of concept.
I cant agree. I was a twitter user many years ago and as it sucked more and more over the years I stopped using it. Now Bluesky ticks all my boxes. Plus I cant stand Musk, a creey and an idiot.
I like the concepts of Bluesky and Mastodon, not because of their far-left userbase, but the concept of decentralized social media is a good concept. The problem with it, like all alt-tech since 2016, is that it will, never, ever get a userbase large enough to sustain itself. It will meet the fate of Parler, Truth, Gab, Threads, etc. X has so much seniority and such a wide userbase it only dies if it ruins itself.
@@dsds3968 You won't be able to find a measurable difference between bsky and Parler when it was in its early stages and began to be flooded with "political refugees" from big tech, a la bsky.
I like Bluesky but not enough people are on it. The content available is not very diverse and I find very few insightful posts about a topic when searching. On X, my problem is filtering so much undesirable and related content on my feed. Way too sensationalist for my liking so I use it sparingly.
I give BlueSky about 2 years ngl… It looks mid I rather use X. Plus I would compare BlueSky to the platform Rumble like you can’t really take down a platform that’s already fully built. The reason why I compare Rumble to BlueSky is because Rumble is trying to takeover TH-cam and Twitch but it’s failing to do so. Same with the platform Kick that’s trying to takeover Twitch but still can’t do so because Twitch has a lot of users and it’s already fully built.
Because of multiple independent groups cleaning it up it is better than X. Moderation on X become unresponsive even for personal death threats since Elon took over. On BlueSky te community knows they have to actively hunt out scammers, bots, disinformation.
A very high quality video! Thank you for the video.
The only thing that made me notice this was a video from a small creator was the typo on « separate ». Great video!

I like it best for my business, it doesn't suppress links!

Random find, good video
Damn you woke up after an 8 month coma.

I think it has the best chance yet. Either way, I'm not using X again.

bluesky already gaining under 1 user per second and bleeding usage numbers daily
you're referencing the bluesky user counter site right? bsky-users.theo.io/
where are you see it bleeding usage number ?
Isn't Bluesky full of bots and since the platform is "decentralized" they can't be banned?

Block lists work well on BlueSky.
Not a chance.
