Your video was SUPER helpful. I lost the manual and was having the darndest time trying to link a new phone to the watch. Thanks to your video, I'm back up and running. Thank you so much!
I don't know if you still need this information since it's been a while, but you can turn it off! - Go into the DA Fit app - Click on the watch face icon at the bottom of the app screen - Scroll down and click on the "others" tab that has the yellow gear icon next to it - There's a "quick view" that you can toggle off, and that will disable the feature It's there so the watch will turn on when it senses that you're turning your wrist to view the screen. It's a little sensitive, though, so I totally understand wanting to turn it off. 😂
I've had this watch about 10 days. Paid $39.00 on Amazon. There was no bluetooth calling option listed. The messaging worked well for a few days. Now no messages appear, even with the bluetooth enabled. Restarted the watch several times, but no success. As far as the watch faces go, you can make a personal watch face from pictures on your phone gallery. One cool feature. Havent tried any of the workouts yet, but a pretty basic fitness watch.
I've had one for 3 months - liked it quite well until the other day when it suddenly stopped charging and won't turn on. Any ideas on that? Maybe how to force restart if I can't get to the screen? Holding the button doesn't work :(
If anyone finds one that has HR readings more frequently for about $60 or less, I'd appreciate you letting me know. Got this one today and just not loving how infrequently it updates my HR, but I have it on the 5 minutes setting. I know I can click and have it update, but I have POTS and would like to just glance at it to see how I'm doing. Thanks!
Thank you for confirming that the H80 does not have bluetooth calling. I was looking everywhere for it because it advertises this feature. Ughh! Thankfully, I only paid $8. I love the battery life that it lasts 5 to 7 days, which is much better than another smartwatch that I had. The BP is not accurate at all. It measures way lower than a cuff BP device. What about music? Can you play music through the H80, or only controls the music on your phone? Does it have a speaker? It's a great looking watch and slim. If it had calling, it would be a fantastic watch!
I think it depends on where you buy it and what claims they make in their advertising. It is not entirely rare that they get their specs wrong in their ads since they are simply reselling and don't actually know the device on a personal level. I actually open a dispute and return the device when that happens.
I purchased it from an Amazon overstock returns location, so there are no returns. Had I purchased it directly from Amazon and paid full price, $49, I would have definitely returned it. For $8, I won't complain.😊
@@DaveTheKayaker Actually, I uninstalled the app, reset the watch, and updated the software and it actually has bluetooth calling. At least the watch notifies me that the phone is ringing. There is a hang up and a mute option, but no option to actually answer the phone. Very weird. Now if I can figure out how to actually answer the phone from the watch, that would be great. Also, the BP and all other measurements seem to be more accurate too. :-)
Thank you for your review on this. I appreciate it. While I don't really care about the calling capability on this, advertised or not, I am more interested in the waterproof aspects or lack thereof. A cursory search on Google basically indicated this isn't intended for swimming (drag), but more annoying, it sounds like you can't really shower with it. Is that your finding, Dave?
Even some of the better waterproof watches are not meant for showers or hot tubs. The reason is hot water makes the metals and seals expand and thus more likely to leak. Even when watches are spec'd for waterproof they usually exclude hot water and showers. Don't you really want to clean that grime under your smartwatch in the shower anyway? I'll never understand why anyone would want to shower with a watch on.
@@DaveTheKayaker thanks for the explanation. I wear watches a lot through workouts and outside working and therefore shower with my watch on a good bit. I usually wear one in the pool, too!
So, it is a weird physics/thermo-expansion thing. Different materials expand and contract at different rates based on temperature. That's how we in the U.S. lost Space Shuttle Challenger. O-rings and metal expanded at different rates thus causing a breach. Same concept, but probably the opposite in a smartwatch where the metals expand more than the O-rings in very hot conditions: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle_Challenger_disaster
For sure check out the Amazfit Stratos and the Amazfit GTR4. Those are my go-to smartwatches on the water when I'm kayaking. Heck, the GTR4 has gone through my clothes washer and dryer and still survives, so I believe it has proven the test of heat and thermal expansion differentials.. th-cam.com/video/YBRbqot9kGE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/-0kWKxL1sRQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/WBq7jCkiv88/w-d-xo.html
I just bought mine and it vibrates with who’s calling and a reject and mute button just like it says on Amazon. It says that you can not talk just mute or reject.
Yes, unfortunately. A few of these smartwatches allow you to set the time from the watch itself, but not this one. Thank you for the kind words and for watching my reviews. I just dropped one more tonight and will drop another on Tuesday. After that I have 4 more smartwatches on the way to me so it will be a busy February of smartwatch reviews. And I still have the Samsung Galaxy 4 on deck for a review that I will eventually get to. It is just taking me a while to learn the Samsung ecosystem. Plus the weather is warming so I'll be back on the water for my main passion--kayaking! What watch would you like to see me review?
How to make my H80 smartwatch appear messages? Because right now I'm having a problem where it appear NO MESSAGE on my watch. I'm using iOS. It should be no problem right?
Did you scan the QR code with your phone to connect the two? The messages will show, but I'm using an Android. However, it should work for Apple devices. Afterwards, make sure you set the notifications in the app. Hope this helps.

What is the length of the band because i wanna change the watch band/strap but im bot sure of the length
I noticed when i move my wrist the screen lights up an i able to turn that off. It keeps lighting up
I have not found where you can shut that off, only where you can dim the display

You did a great job with the review.
Im trying to connect this watch to the Strava app, but the devices dont list this Mindrose H80. Any insight?
Make sure you allow your location and bluetooth to be on at the same time
In your opinion, which is the best budget military watch with the best reading with red and green optical sensors?

How to keep the screen from blacking out after a couple of seconds?
You can change it from the app!!
Are there any in app purchases to use any of its features step tracking, sleep, etc?
No

Does it have alarm clock to set on the watch itself or just a reminder of the ones set on the phone?
It does have a vibration alarm, that you set thru the DA FIT on your phone.

Where do K get the H80 ap? It doesn't show up in Play Store or anywhere else.
The app for it is called Da Fit. At least that's what mine says.
I've looked EVERYWHERE and cannot find where I can set the correct time...any suggestions, anyone?
Synch it with your phone. It pulls the time from your phone.

How do you change the time
Synch it with the app
If you get a call does the call pop up to accept or reject? Does it have find my phone? Ty

How do you turn off the screen at night to sleep?? Uuugh
Turn off the lift your wrist feature.
