Been with y’all since those heavy fuse overlays days. I remember being amazed on how in depth you went during the review and how I’d slowly recognize those elements while I was playing in that shoe. Def Joining the Discord!
Just had my first play in these out of the box for 3 hours of pick up and full court. The shock yellow/black colourway, with solid black outsole. Black solid outsole performs well. The rubber compound is quite hard and very grippy and squeeky when clean. Although it loses the hard bite when dusty. I didn't have any violent slides but on sudden hard and fast stops I can see it happening if you're not putting enough weight on your stopping foot. Dust is very easy to wipe off though. But it's seriously a court cleanliness problem if you start slipping. I think Chris is right saying the traction pattern is slightly too close as dust gets built up in between. If it was spaced out slightly more and compound was softer then I'm sure the traction would be very good. Also agreed that the cushion is super comfy and yet responsive for guard style play (better than the Dame 5 in terms of bounce cushion). Also sizing, I went true to size (not Adidas size or anything, just the proper size as Chris said!) for a very good fit, it might be a bit tight if you have thick Stance socks but normal socks is good. The base is also very wide and stable and flat, and supportive overall. Definitely recommend if your courts aren't filthy.
@@nelsenn4486 you should check out the "Jordan Jumpman 2021". There's no performance reviews out for it yet but I can see it's a good upgrade from the "Jordan Jumpman 2020". The outsole is still herringbone and now it's all rubber (rather than translucent in the 2020). The cushioning seems decent too! I haven't tried it on yet, I'm going to check it out in store again myself. I hope it's widefoot friendly and is somewhat flexible. If so, I'm gonna get a pair of those too
Just barely bought my pair this morning before work. Can’t wait to give them a try tomorrow. If traction is good I’m fully satisfied considering I can handle any cushion setup. If not then they’ll certainly be a good casual wear shoe. Great reviews as always Chris! I shall join the discord as well.

They look like a great budget friendly option, especially if you’re a Spider-Man fan for that particular colourway. To echo a few other commenters really appreciate the clarification over the traction and your opinion, that’s a rare thing in the TH-cam space...
I have them and the traction was really good for me indoors and the court is pretty garbage. I honestly think it might be a case by case thing. I never played in them outdoors though. I was kinda waiting on your review so I could know if that was good on this shoe 😂. Honestly, this might be my favorite basketball shoe ever. I will definitely be joining that Discord chat too. Played with this twice, and I kinda agree with the traction. Played in a dusty court - slipping and sliding to the point of wanting to return the shoe. I've been playing in this court for 4 years and I never experienced any slipping from other shoes. Gave it a chance the following weekend, same court but was now mopped. Traction was perfect. But 2 hours into playing when the court was getting dustier I can feel the slip again but not as bad. Did a lot of wiping though and it helped. Haven't tried it outdoors yet to check if it's more consistent outside.
Was hoping these would perform really well, but having traction issues is not something I would take a risk in. Another awesome review as always 👌🏽 The venom and stealth spidey cw’s are very tempting still though. 😅
Picked these up and I'm with you, I had pretty constant slipping on the hardwood. Real shame because I was really excited to pick these up. Looks like I'll have to use these on the asphalt. Super comfortable but even when I was warming up and running drills I was slipping.
Agree on the traction.. U have to keep on wiping to get that grip. Overall, a very decent shoe but not a go to shoe for me. If only traction is like the pro bounce 2018.. 🔥🔥🔥

I got these in orange and I love em but I gotta agree about the traction, it was only good if I was wiping my shoes after every play and washing them after every session
I have the same CW. I'm about at least 12 hours or so in them. ( I play 4x a week with at least 3 hours or so per session. ) My traction has been ok Few wiping here and there does the trick
I bought a pair of dons exactly one year ago and I have the same problem with the traction at indoor courts but they perform great at outdoor courts. I barely used the shoe because of that but it performs well overall.
As a Donovan Mitchell fan these shoes are dope but that back heel is too chunky. That Venom colour way is 🔥. Great review. But Donovan slides a lot in his shoes too. Chris that shooting stroke is pretty pure, almost to OP with the crew you run with.
Found them really stiff even after two training sessions. Didn't feel securely locked down in them either. Returned and bought harden vol 4 instead, which is a much better fit for my feet.
I liked the black and white ones too much I got them regardless of the review. My court is pretty dusty and these do need a lot of wiping, so I think you're right on that. I like everything else about the shoe though.

Hey Chris, long time follower. Wanted your OPINION on solid basketball shoes that provide support at the ball of feet. I am not a heel striker at all so run and jump off the front of my foot and it’s so difficult to find shoes that provide support and don’t leave my foot feeling like I’m literally playing on the bone of the foot. Thanks
I have these and i would go down a size because they are really big for their size So if you normally wear a 9 I would recommend going down to 8,5 or 8

Bought these true to size for my friend and he could not play in them because they were really tight on the side of his foot so these are not wide footer friendly!

Chris plays all over the place. These are the Bay Area runs he plays in. He plays a lot in Sacramento but we’re unable to film in 24 Hr Fitness.

Traction depends on the court you are playing in. I also had issue on dusty court, sliding everywhere. Material seems cheap as well, wear out easily.

I’ve played in mine a couple times slipped out once, but other than that traction was excellent
