my experience with lightstrike...after playing 2 seasons in the same pair, i thought they were bottoming out, but it wasn't until i put on a brand new shoe that i realized, maybe the light strike is a bit more resilient than we think because they still felt better than brand new react cushioning
For real. I have bought 3 pair of Dame 6s because the cushion is so amazing. I play basketball several times a week outdoors in NYC and the lightstrike in the Dame 6 is my favorite cushion setup on any shoe I've worn in the last 5 years . i weigh about 160 and the foam is incredibly resilient
Been using Harden 4s since they came out. My only hoop shoe for 2 years, then I bought another pair which is lasting just as long. The cushion is just like it was on day 1
I love the universal scoring. I would still love to see the jump test, the shuttle test, and the sandpaper tests. These elements were what drew me to your channel - they made it unique and allowed you to provide insights unavailable on other channels. I just thought they did such a good job of "showing" the performance whereas others just provide their opinions. I realize there are reasons the numbers might differ on those tests, but I still thought that added to the information you were providing. I think they can still "inform" your new scoring system without you having to have those tests have a 1 to 1 relationship with the scores.
Agree with Spencer. Luv the new stuff but also you can't beat the old tests. The old tests helped me make an informed decision when parting with my hard earned. Perhaps the Doc could manufacture a machine that simulates a jumping motion using consistent psi, climate, etc??

100% . Standardized tests usually is performed in a controlled setting. However, the jump test and shuttle test provides real-world review and feedback about the sneakers. Maybe it can viewed as a quantitative and qualitative analysis with objective and subjective components of the review. All the best and keep 'em coming.
The light strike foam on these shoes collapsed in the toe box (left a big dent too) which resulted in me getting a light toe sprain less than a year after buying these. These are definitely not durable and power jumpers need to beware.
Really enjoy the universal scoring! I think as great as other reviewers are, I love how you mention how you believe things will play out long term! (Foam getting brittle, traction wearing away, upper stretching too much, etc.)
I'm using a colorway that has the clear rubber sole and that rubber is some of the most durable I've ever experienced (around a 24 on my shore D durometer). I'm using them for pickleball and they are wearing better than ANY shoe I've tried and that includes durability tennis shoes that have outsole warranties. I'm currently rotating them with a pair of Head Revolt Pro 4.0's and they are wearing at about half the rate.

For me the dremmel and the durometer are what I tend to look at most in your videos since I am not that blessed with a good indoor court. I got myself a couple from the vids I’ve seen here. My most recent shoe is the Jordan Luka 1 which I watched like a couple times and it’s a top notch worker definitely! when it’s time to find me a new shoe to rock my defenders.. I can rely on this channel to help me out on what keeps my feet and legs comfortable. Lots of love doc ur hitting a mil in less than a year guarantee.
I have been waiting for this video for a while jajaja I couldn't wait anymore and got the "Dream it" colorway a couple months ago lol. They are amazing for me because I have a very narrow foot so even with orthotics my foot does not feel trapped but more like well supported and very light. I was afraid they would not absorb shock that much but I took the risk because I am super light and they have been pretty good, doing a good job even if I compared them to my Dame 8, and I play volleyball so I jump a lot and after a couple months the sole still feels like day 1. The only negative side is that they do not have that much grip on a dusty indoor court, but on a clean one they are great. I would totally recommend if you want to feel light and nimble.
Adidas lightstrike seems to share a lot of characteristics with Nikes React foam, light, Airy, & bouncy right out of the box but they don’t last long. Thats why you’re seeing Adidas & Nike really beefing up there light strikes & Reacts to counteract that as much as possible.

I think the DON is a more mid/high version of the Dame 8...i love both Chinese New Year models surprisingly Adidas now offers 40% discount on the Dame 8 i bought 4 pair at 60 USD each 🤣 just because they cool looking and m comfortable i don't need another shoe

Its awesome. If you are chronic ankle roller they are amazing. Pretty much went from 3/10 shape for years because of rolling my ankle and no trust in my ankle, im back to like 8/10 shape in just 2 months of wearing they are great.

hello, I've been looking for shoes to play basketball for a while now but I have a problem. My foot is very wide and flat. I would therefore like to know which pair could suit me and also the arch of the shoes must be very wide and thick.
Sorry did I zone out, did u still do a jump height test for this? I know u used the new universal rating but having the jump test and shuttle test are a staple for this channel and seeing it compared to a "standard shoe" as a baseline under the same conditions of that day may produce a more consistent rating if that makes sense. E.g test the don issue 4 and then use the "standard shoe" (you decide what would be the best shoe for that) same day u do the jump and shuttle test

41cm jump height on these 14.96 shuttle- it was a cold day- there will be new tests coming soon though that are standardized...you'll love em

Shoe seems pretty stable but it’s outsole is just terrible for trying to grip on a moderate court surface :/

I heard Adidas Boost basketball has been great from the 2016 model. Many said it was comparable to Kobe 4-5 performance wise.

They’re getting replaced by 2 other tests and a math formula a made to calculate relative bounce and relative speed, stopping power and acceleration
