The only channel on you tube that feels like visiting a life long friend everyday . Happy New Year's to you n yours my friend . Thanks for being awesome.
Jeff, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the last year of videos. I found your channel about this time last year. I try to sit down around 10:00 Texas time, drink my coffee, and watch your latest post. Seems like the normal thing to do in a crazy world. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. And BTW, where do you order the Matco ratchets from. It looks like I'm gonna have to buy one!
Been waiting for the Capri review. Ive been happy with their stuff so far so I ordered this set as well. Cant wait to try it out! Thanks for your review Jeff!
I love mine, the head lock on mine is a bit tighter than yours, but only a bit. My 1/4" came dead in the box. Best i could tell it didn't have the spring in the selector. CAPRI already has me another on the way, and they wanted my broke one back to check it out. They want to make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the introduction video Jeff.
That's funny ..My 1/4 was dead upon arrival backplate was loose didn't help to tighten hardware open the rachet up to find I was missing one of the ball bearings backplate still doesn't fit right, I contacted them and made a statement about it could have possible clearance issues or bad hardware I was sent a repair kit haven't attempted to install it yet to see if that fixes the issue
Yea we have been there where you need the leverage and the handle is a half inch to long . But handy when they fit. There should be a better way to make a flex head ratchet so it can be tight .
I just received the capri 3 piece set and I am very pleased with the quality of them..I am catching up with you on your ratchet collection still a long way to go great channel and I love collecting tools and knives
Respectable review for both ratchets. Like you always say you have to have options. Id say they both have there place. Them new capris are very nice though. Thanks Jeff and keep em comin
Jeff, It's cruel the way you tease me with that purple Matco 88. Just send it to me already, eh? 🤪🤣😜😛 Happy New Year! Both the GW and the Capripants looks like good ratchets.
I had the flex locking gearwrench 120xp for a year now from my parents and theyre awesome. I got the capri set this holiday so we'll see how it holds up. So far im liking this gear mech and handle. Capri makes good stuff
Jeff, you've been talking about the Capri for a while and I can see why. A very nice ratchet. Wishing you a Happy New Year. I believe you'll hit 10K subscribers towards the end of January. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
Like seeing more Capri on the channel, i hope they are in your roundup for impact socket sets, been thinking about their 3/8 super shallow and semi deep sets to add into the shop box, and hoping to pickup a 1/2 cased set for outside kf the shop fun
I've been looking at the GW 120XP, but didn't know about all the play in locking flexhead. I think I will wait until the shorter version of the Capri CP90 is available. Thanks for the review Jeff.
Thanks for this video and all you do. I got the 1/4 gear wrench flex head and did wonder about sending it back for that slop in the locking mechanism. Sure the ratchet is fine but very surprised more people don't mention the sloppy locking flex head makes it feel like a cheap toy. Happy New Year. New sub
Got my 1/4" replacement in the mail today, it works great. Also over the last week I've added a few more ratchets to the collection. A set of 4 XXL Cornwell Blue Power flexhead ratchets. 2-1/4" (14" long), a 3/8" (19"ish long) and a 30" 1/2". All are 120 tooth and smoother than the Capri. I think the 1/2" may be the smoothest big ratchet i have, they are awesome. Ill send you some pics.
Thank you Jeff for taking the time to make this detailed video, interested to see how they last over the span of a year. I will definitely purchase the shorter version locking flex head ratchets once they come out, hopefully without the goat head design 😂.
I have the flex gear wrench 90t and standard capri 90t. Both great. I’ve seen you do the initial on both these sets. I think I’m going to go for the capri just for the added fact that it’s got the length. Good review as usual Jeff. I do like tools!!
Hello again, Jeff Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Happy New Year's to you and your family. Thank you for the great ratchet comparison. Again thank you 👌
I like Capri, I’ve got their big set of combo wrenches in EVA foam. I would have bought these locking flexheads in a heartbeat if I could get chrome handles. I checked but unfortunately, comfort grip only.
I've never been a huge fan of soft grips to begin with, but the combination of soft grips with a color combo that doesn't match the stuff I already have just makes it a no go, I've been pressuring Vim for a while now for chrome handles or a simple subdued soft grip design
@ exactly! I have a red and black color scheme in my top drawer, so blue grips are a no go. I prefer a chrome handle, or at least black like my KoKen ratchets.
The Capri 1/2 drive in that length with that locking mechanism would be great. That mechanism in a 1/4 or 3/8 would fight me. I am usually stuffing my arm and going off feel and keep my heads unlocked. It's a Great looking ratchet though
I'm so glad you compared these two. I want the Capri, but the fact you can't use them as a flex without locking is disappointing. My gearwrench 120xp is still my favorites. The head wobble is and price is why I went with the locking GW 84T for my 1/2. Just sturdier for leverage.
Very nice comparison. That spring Loaded lock is unfortunately a deal breaker for me on the Capri. There are times where I need to turn a fastener a bit the readjust the flex head angle and unlocking it each turn would drive me nuts. Thanks for the detailed review!
Yea i see channels that ask you to donate money to thier channel al the time ,buy thier mercendise, never give back any giveaways!!! im the opposite,i never ask for anything!!
I have the flex gear wrench 90t and standard capri 90t. Both great. I’ve seen you do the initial on both these sets. I think I’m going to go for the capri just for the added fact that it’s got the length.
No experience with any flex head ratchets, always made due with universal joints, but very interesting stuff. Good vid, thanks for sharing way cooler stuff than I have.
Dude I love capri because they are so budget friendly but are actually useable tools for the trade. Buying good but cheap tools has been hard starting out
My capri flex ratchets should be coming in this week Going to be putting them to the test when I do my upper oil pan/ turbo on my 6.7psd compared to using a mix of snap on/ matco ratchets when I did those jobs at work Matco black chrome ratchets look amazing over time the black does scratch off but you don't buy tools to look pretty forever
I ordered my capri on 21 of December and still have not received it. This they are claiming they are lost in shipping. Looking forward to using them if they ever come.
Those new Capri are nice. I'm waiting on the new gen2 Icon ratchets to hit the shelves before I make my decision. The Capri is probably a few inches longer, but that's not the deciding factor for me anyway. I'm not a big fan of the really high tooth count/position ratchets. I like a good 72t-90t. I like that Capri still uses the goathead logo on theirs. The new Icon has the locking mechanism like Matco.
I don't have nearly as many ratchets as you i do have some expensive ratchets but i bought the gearwrench comfort grip locking flex head ratchets and i was pleasantly surprised they felt great in the hand and i have used them for about a month now and really like them i have been looking for the carlyle and haven't been able to find them anywhere
I have the gearwrench 120xp and they are nice and very smooth. Only problem is for some reason I just don’t care for them. I still always grab my Mac axis, Matco, or snap on quick release. Maybe it’s the play in the head or the handle shape. But for some reason they just aren’t what I grab when I’m working. Don’t get me wrong they definitely can compete with the tool truck ratchets for a cheaper price.
I have the 1/4" GW cushion grip and hated the small, skinny handle so replaced with Snap On hard handle. I really don't generally prefer locking flex but I really think the Capri lock is low profile compared to a switch style and could really become a favorite. So I may just have to order a set. My question is do I get Vipmmnon locking flex or Capri but the length is a concern.
@jefftovani5535 I bought a long handle snap on 3/8 the other day and didn't think to check and was pretty disappointed when I used it. Switched back to the matco.
I have all the 120xp locking ratchets including the 25". Also own the other capri set might have to get this new set to try out. I like the gearwrench alot. I do like that I can lock or unlock them. I do not like the play. Also the ball detent is wierd but they're all like that I'm wondering if it was by design
The Capri wins hands down I've been looking at capris 4 in one double box end ratcheting wrenches 4 peice set and it replaces 16 wrenches with only 4 I like that idea I got my application in at Lisle tool corporation they are going over my resume so hopefully I hear something soon if I get the job I'll definitely be buying some tools from them and other companies to do reviews on happy new year my friend
The only channel on you tube that feels like visiting a life long friend everyday . Happy New Year's to you n yours my friend . Thanks for being awesome.

Jeff,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the last year of videos.
Thank you Randy for your support, much appreciated!! i buy my Matco ratchets on EBAY!!
Been waiting for the Capri review. Ive been happy with their stuff so far so I ordered this set as well. Cant wait to try it out! Thanks for your review Jeff!
Glad you got it, they're nice ratchets, let me know what you think when you get them!!!
I love mine, the head lock on mine is a bit tighter than yours, but only a bit. My 1/4" came dead in the box. Best i could tell it didn't have the spring in the selector. @JamesBOND-d5g wow, at least 2 dead one's in first run, some serious QC should be going on. Well the deed is done with this batch of ratchets,
Thanks doug for passing that info along, very interesting!
good to know James, thanks for sharing with us!!
Great comparison video, Jeff! Thanks for all you do...👍
Thank you brady!!
Next best thing to owning my own tools is watching your channel. Nice job!
Thank you my friend,much appreciated!!
Yea we have been there where you need the leverage and the handle is a half inch to long . But handy when they fit. There should be a better way to make a flex head ratchet so it can be tight .
Is all about options, boy we need everything we can get are hands on in todays world!! thank you wtbm!!
Thanks for all the great videos you have this year. Looking forward to another year of them. Happy New Year!
Thank you tom,much appreciated!!

Glad you like the Capri, john!! thank you for joining in!!something about ratchets!
Great video Jeff! I ordered my set last week waiting for them to get here
Hi grant, let me know when you get them!!thanks for joining in!!
My Capri set arrives on Friday. Space in ratchet drawer already cleared. Cannot wait!
Youll need the room, they are long!! thanks ASM!!
Respectable review for both ratchets. Like you always say you have to have options. Id say they both have there place. Them new capris are very nice though. Thanks Jeff and keep em comin
Thanks for checking in and sharing your thoughts!!
Jeff, It's cruel the way you tease me with that purple Matco 88. Just send it to me already, eh? 🤪🤣😜😛 Happy New Year! Both the GW and the Capripants looks like good ratchets.
Yea it will be gone soon, lol!! Happy New Year my friend!!
I had the flex locking gearwrench 120xp for a year now from my parents and theyre awesome. I got the capri set this holiday so we'll see how it holds up. So far im liking this gear mech and handle. Capri makes good stuff

Yes sir Bo,todays cars flex heads are a must!! thanks Bo!!
happy new year Jeff.
Same to you sam!!
The first Capri tool I bought was the stubby 1/2 impact. I love that thing.
Thanks rob for sharing!!
Like seeing more Capri on the channel, i hope they are in your roundup for impact socket sets, been thinking about their 3/8 super shallow and semi deep sets to add into the shop box, and hoping to pickup a 1/2 cased set for outside kf the shop fun
For impacts, they have a sweet master set, deep, semi deep & standard sockets. Sweet sets! Come on metal organizer. Then they all match
3/8 master sets
They have some sweet sets,no doubt!! thanks mcsquee!!
Hi Dan you will, stay tuned my friend!!
I've been looking at the GW 120XP, but didn't know about all the play in locking flexhead. I think I will wait until the shorter version of the Capri CP90 is available. Thanks for the review Jeff.
Thanks for checking in, the short version is just around the corner,im hearing!!
I just got the locking flex head, 25" gearwrench yesterday. They have options!
They sure do ben!! thank you for joining in and sharing your recent purchase of GW!!!!
New sub
Yes they do have some slop,i have a bunch, everyone has slop!! thanks for supporting the channel tan!!!
Love the Capris, screw gearwrench / Apex tool group. Hopefully Capri comes out with normal length versions soon.
Thier supposed to,will see!!
Great video Jeff. I needa get my hands on some of these Capri ratchets. It's the last thing I need lol but I love ratchets.
Boy i hear ya!! thanks josh!!
Nice score doug!!keep me posted!!
Thank you Jeff for taking the time to make this detailed video, interested to see how they last over the span of a year. I will definitely purchase the shorter version locking flex head ratchets once they come out, hopefully without the goat head design 😂.
Thanks rodriguez for joining in,we will do follow ups!!
I have the flex gear wrench 90t and standard capri 90t. Both great. I’ve seen you do the initial on both these sets. I think I’m going to go for the capri just for the added fact that it’s got the length. Good review as usual Jeff. I do like tools!!
I guess it would come down to what you mainly service as far as the length is concerned. Their both great looking ratchets. HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉
I would agree mike!! just another option!! Happy New Year!!
Hello again, Jeff
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Happy New Year's to you and your family. Thank you for the great ratchet comparison. Again thank you 👌
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!! Happy New Year to you and yours too!!!
Thanks for showing us Jeff. As always God Bless.
Thank you juan!!

@ exactly! I have a red and black color scheme in my top drawer, so blue grips are a no go. I prefer a chrome handle, or at least black like my KoKen ratchets.
Yea some guys dont like comfort grips,i get it!! maybe they will do standard chrome handles in the future, time will tell!!
Thanks Dan for joining in,i understand that thier not for everyone!! Vim suppose to come out with some USA ratchets!!
@jefftovani5535 super stoked about that, just hope they don't have snot green handles
The Capri 1/2 drive in that length with that locking mechanism would be great. That mechanism in a 1/4 or 3/8 would fight me. I am usually stuffing my arm and going off feel and keep my heads unlocked. It's a Great looking ratchet though
Thanks for sharing your thoughts brian!!
I'm so glad you compared these two. I want the Capri, but the fact you can't use them as a flex without locking is disappointing. My gearwrench 120xp is still my favorites. The head wobble is and price is why I went with the locking GW 84T for my 1/2. Just sturdier for leverage.
Thank you bret for joining in,glad you found it useful!!
Very nice comparison. That spring
Loaded lock is unfortunately a deal breaker for me on the Capri. There are times where I need to turn a fastener a bit the readjust the flex head angle and unlocking it each turn would drive me nuts.
Thanks for the detailed review!
Hi James i hear ya!! thanks for joining in my friend!!
Outstanding comparison.... The problem now is, which is better? Both have some great attributes and a few faults. Thanks for what you do.
Hi remfj,i have to use the Capri set for 6 months to tell you which one i like best!! stay tuned, thanks my friend!!
Jeff!!! You gotta sell us something! Vitamins? Homemade jelly? THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS!! I dont know much about capri, interesting!!
Yea i see channels that ask you to donate money to thier channel al the time ,buy thier mercendise, never give back any giveaways!!! im the opposite,i never ask for anything!!
Thanks Jeff, i was considering the new Capri ratchets, havent been a huge fan of the lock on the new gearwrench ratchets.
They seem nice Zach, ill do a follow up later on the Capri!!
thanks for the review, I was considering the capri ratchets but I don't think I'll get them.
Thanks for watching,i appreciate it!!
Love your channel Jeff
Thank you ray,much appreciated!!
I have the flex gear wrench 90t and standard capri 90t. Both great. I’ve seen you do the initial on both these sets. I think I’m going to go for the capri just for the added fact that it’s got the length.
They are long,no doubt!! another option!! thanks jadavison for joining in!!
Enjoy your content. I have some capri ratchets. They are work horses. Very tough.
thanks for the review ,I like the capri ratchets
Thanks John for joining in!!
Great review as always. How is the back drag on the Capri?
Very little, the CP90 are good rite out of the box!!!thanks RJM for joining in!!
You the man Jeff
Thank you vince!!
No experience with any flex head ratchets, always made due with universal joints, but very interesting stuff.
I like the GW 120XP in 1/4" drive only, their 90 tooth is my preference in 3/8 and 1/2" drive. The 90 tooth seem much stronger in the bigger drives and backdrag seems almost as good as the 120XP.
Good vid, thanks for sharing way cooler stuff than I have.
Thank you gerald for joining in!! lots of good options in todays tool world!!
Dude I love capri because they are so budget friendly but are actually useable tools for the trade. Buying good but cheap tools has been hard starting out
I agree Gringo, thanks for joining in!!
I do have 3/8 breaker bar from oreillys that has one end handle end for extension or there 3/8 stubby hooks into it..kinda handy
Thanks Seth for sharing!!
the new capris looking good
Time will tell!! thanks soupy!!
Both really nice ratchets
Thanks for watching, glad you like them my friend!!
Thanks for the review
Thanks for checking in blake!!
Thanks for the video. If I was going to get one Capri tool or set, what would be your favorites?
non flex CP90 is one of my favorites!! thier combo wrenches are outsatanding!
Locking flex-head ratcheting breaker-bars!
Yup,they are long jim!!
My capri flex ratchets should be coming in this week
Going to be putting them to the test when I do my upper oil pan/ turbo on my 6.7psd compared to using a mix of snap on/ matco ratchets when I did those jobs at work
Matco black chrome ratchets look amazing over time the black does scratch off but you don't buy tools to look pretty forever
Thanks powerstroke for joining in!! let me know how you like the Capri after using them!!
I have the larger head 120xp flex heads. I think I'm going to switch to the low profile ones. I have the low pro ones in fixed handle and LOVE them
The new style is sweet, way smaller head!!
They look great but I can't seem to find them on Amazon ca yet (Canada)
i havent seen on amazon yet ethier! still to new i would suspect!! thanks Dave!!
I ordered my capri on 21 of December and still have not received it. This they are claiming they are lost in shipping. Looking forward to using them if they ever come.
That sucks!! let me know when you get them, and what you think about them!!
G00d review, enjoy seeing them.
Thank you David!
I've gotta wonder if the length on the capris would be a hindrance, but all about options right !
In some cicumstances, yes!! just another great option!!
Damn those looks sick!
Ill do a follow up after some good use!!! thanks for joining in!!
I love that you use regular guy tool too.
Hello marc, yes i mostly use middle of the road tools!! love lots of brands!!
Happy new year my friend
Happy New Year to you too, thanks for stopping by!
Thanks shadow for joining in,so many good options today, its great to see!!!
Just wish the 25” gearwrench had a comfort grip
Yea i hear ya,thanks my friend!!
Thanks paul, the 72 tooth carliyle is hard to find,if thats what your looking for!!
Is the capri head , looks a little die hard ish, great job, though, Jeff very informative, have a safe New Year's Eve.Take care
A little bit like Diehard, yes!! let me know when you get your Matco ratchet!!!
@jefftovani5535 yes sir will do
Matco is in the house, let’s take a gander!
Yes sir!!! thanks my friend for joining in!!
I can’t wait for the 6 mo review.
we willmy friend,stay tuned!!
I like the length of those Capri's, it will make it easier to remove some of those stuck nuts and bolts.
Can definitly come in handy!! thanks msbuck for joining in!!
Hey Jeff, could you compare the Capri to the Diehard ratchets? The heads look quite similar
Yes i will, thanks for the feedback!!
Happy new year to you and your wife
Happy New Year eddie!!
Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts my friend!
When are you going to do tekton double box ratcheting wrench 6months use review. Or did you already gave out
I gave them away in a giveaway!! they were nice!!
Sure it looked like a one of a kind😂
I have the 1/4" GW cushion grip and hated the small, skinny handle so replaced with Snap On hard handle. I really don't generally prefer locking flex but I really think the Capri lock is low profile compared to a switch style and could really become a favorite. So I may just have to order a set. My question is do I get Vipmmnon locking flex or Capri but the length is a concern.
Capri is coming out with shorter length CP90 flex-heads later this year, maybe you might want to wait!!
Thanks, that length is pretty ridiculous especially when you don't have a lift and primarily working off of stands
Happy New Year ! thank you :)
Happy New Year ron!!
The Capri blue is pretty, how do the handles feel?
Great! Not so thick like snap on comfort grip. But better feeling than GearWrench, which is fine just a little weird I think for how theirs feels
@mcsqueegee81 I was wondering cus they look like the snap on handles just with the grooves added
Thank you
I like them, not as spongy as Snap On,not as hard as Icon, toraarhus!!
@jefftovani5535 ill have to check them out sometime
What do you think is the 90 tooth gear wrench better than the 120? A lot of people seem to like the 90 tooth.
The 90 is good, but i like the 120XP better!! thanks jeff for joining in!!
One thing that's important to me with a flex head is, will it go past 90 so you can use it as a speed wrench or old fashion drill.
That is a great point to consider, thanks for bringing it up!
@jefftovani5535 I bought a long handle snap on 3/8 the other day and didn't think to check and was pretty disappointed when I used it.
Switched back to the matco.
I suppose they moved the detent ball towards the end to make the anvil stronger, but nobody likes a floppy socket.
Yea maybe, but everybody complains about it,deep sockets are wobbly!!
I have all the 120xp locking ratchets including the 25". Also own the other capri set might have to get this new set to try out. I like the gearwrench alot. I do like that I can lock or unlock them. I do not like the play. Also the ball detent is wierd but they're all like that I'm wondering if it was by design
Thanks shawn for joining in,Both sets have good and bad points!! overall thier both good!!
Great news with Lisle Don!! i hope you get the job!! you certainly have a great deal of knowledge!!
@jefftovani5535 thanks Jeff
Still waiting on my Capris. I've used the XPs for a decade. My Knuckles never been happier
Hello Bo,let me know how you like them when you get your Capris!!
Capri finally...flex head s...seem nicer then gearwrench and power torque s...
Hi Seth, will see how they hold up over time!! thanks my friend!!
@jefftovani5535 gave ya a little gift ..on this video..
Yes - One eyed One horned flying PURPLE Matco Ratchet!! Has a certain ring to it!
Its a beauty!! thanks chris for joining in!!
I like Capri stuff.
They have decent stuff,no doubt!! thanks pete!!
