    These look like great ratchets at a reasonable price. I think I prefer this type of locking mechanism over either of the Snap-on or Matco design. With the Capri you get a smooth 90 tooth ratchet mechanism and a screw on faceplate rather than the snap ring held plate of the Matco. Matco's ratchets are made in the USA by AJ Manufacturing. To me they look just like a Gearwrench at almost 3 times the price. You can buy two Gearwrench ratchets so you have a spare while waiting for the broken one to be replaced and be well ahead of buying one Matco ratchet.

      Ahh that explains why matco and gw guts are interchangeable, but yeah would just as soon buy a few gw's for mild/medium use over a matco, and still cant get a matco guy to stop by any of the shops ive been to last 10yrs so i dont keep up with them lol. Thankyou for watching!

    The Capri stuff looks really nice. And they have blue. Outstanding review as always.

    Im liking the new GW 120xp. Got the face plate, much smaller head, locking or floating flex and finer tooth that still retains strength. I'd say that Capri has more than just a little thicker head than the SO. Not bashing the Capri, they do look like really nice strong ratchets

    I just got em a couple days ago. You can get a 10% or so discount code. They are long! Heads are a bit thick, like or thicker than snap on. There is some movement to it, once its locked

    Capri does make some really good tools. I have most of their 3/8 impact stuff, and it's been great. The only thing I haven't liked is their old style 3/8 long 72 tooth flex-head ratchet. I gave the one I had to my son so that I've got an excuse to upgrade. But all their 90 tooth ones are much better. I will probably be getting that set. I'm just waiting on the new gen2 Icon ratchets to hit the stores so I can see how well I like those first. I wasn't too thrilled with their current lineup, so I did some tuning to the heads, and that brought the performance and feel way up. The only things that will make the Capri a better choice for me is the locking feature, and the fact that their 3/8 is 20" when the others I've seen are no more than 16".

      These are definitly some bang for buck locking flex head ratchets. I took a look few years ago at the icon ratchets and wasnt too impressed for their price tag they had on them (at local hft at time regular 1/2" ratchet was 50 bucks and 3/8 was 40...) let alone their 3/8 recall soured me a bit to even give them a shot. Thanks for watching and hope your week goes good!

    I have been pleasantly surprised by Lowes Kobalt brand, kinda the "new craftsman " in my opinion. I always bought snapon,mac,bluepoint,proto, in pawnshops in decades past and still use them 50 years later! No issues with any of them. I recently purchased a few Harbor Freight ratchets for myself and sons that are extended,slim, double ended,only thing is the heads don't lock, that has 1/4" on one end and 3/8" on the other, super handy I've found. 20 bucks! Really like the super slim heads that's required to reach the idle pulley on my chevy HHR alt. Good vid thanks

      Thankyou for watching, I didnt mind the things i had gotten from kobalt in the past, but local lowes around me have been trying to push mostly craftsman past couple years and carrying less and less craftsman. Hope you have a good week and thanks for watching!

    Good to see you again Brandon. A little more gray in your beard this year. Those ratchets look great. On my list. #RatchetWhore

    I have the long 3/8 capri. I want these now. Thanks a lot lol. And I am pretty sure Stanley makes make ratchets in Dallas TX. I have delivered there and seen the ratchet handles coming out of there. USA made

    That's a nice set at a good price, I've liked every single Capri tool I've bought. Capri has nice chrome too,
    Anything new going on with the truck cap camper build?
    On a side note, also have a hernia but I keep putting off surgery. Mine is more of a discomfort than a pain, but my doc keeps trying to get me to commit to a date to do the operation.
    It's just always a bad time to be taking six weeks off work

    I prefer non locking in general but the new button styles are so much better than the levers like matco uses. I might need to get this set

    The Matco ratchets are not Gearwrench/Apex tools, they Are from AJ manufacturing USA, The macs are From Proto Great Video.. these Capris look rugged, if your in the market for some long locking flex heads, these would probably be hard to beat based on quality, price & warranty. Great upload hopefully several mounths down the road you can give us a follow up, Hope you get back good results on your ct scan Big Guy. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    I refer to my snapon locking flex ratchets as auto-locking. Either lock it where you want it or it will lock where you don’t.

    I have the non flex head standard version of the cp 90 ratchets and there great but i will probably pass on these not having the ability to free flex is kind of a deal breaker to me

    • @BeardedSeabee82
      @BeardedSeabee82  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are hella ratchets, but true, i know plenty of folks that prefer locking, and plenty that prefer free float, all depends on what you work on. Hope you have a good week and thankyou for watching!

    They need to release a standard length version. I understand the need for leverage but these seem too long for regular applications.

    How is the back drag on these new Capri Ratchets?

  • @cblack1863

    Not sure about now. But I thought Matco was USA made by Armstrong

    • @BeardedSeabee82
      @BeardedSeabee82  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Armstrong was bought out by apex a number of years ago and has long since been defunct, matco hasnt made any of their own tools for a long time and their ratchets are a taiwanese GW make, esp since now most of GW stuff made in china since they were also bought by apex

    Since when has Snap on been the standard to judge tools by? Bloody rubbish!

    • @RyldUp-uo3pc
      @RyldUp-uo3pc หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since they are the objectively the best. Ignoring the price and just going off what is physically the best tool, 99% of the time snap on wins
