Floating Along the Missions

Trying something different for this video--footage is sped up 8x, and the whole flight is included.
Had another fun flight, floating around the Mission Mountains again-3h:12 min this time. The soaring forecast looked like it was not worth launching, and the predicted lift was going to be over the center/east side of the Missions. So I took a high tow to 5,000 AGL (8,000ft). There was juuuust enough ridge lift to stay up and slowly climb in a select few places. But it worked. And it was fun. 🙂

That looked like really hard work - would be stressful on a XC flight somewhere out in the sticks. But you were always in glide of your airport so a fun local flight for this time of year I guess?

Yes, indeed. SkySight was not predicting a day even worth launching, and was able to get a fun flight out of it anyway.
