I'm a South Africa citizen and I trust the Black Americans 150% that they will make a difference here, they came with good intentions here, and I pray that our government should give them citizenship someday, they will bring changes here, unlike the other corrupt and illegal immigrants here
A couple of years ago I met an African American who came with a group of white Americans for a human rights /legal internship where I was also interning. From the word go she wanted to know all about black SA culture , particularly township culture because she came from an affluent background. For the 6 months that they were here they really immersed themselves in black SA culture from theatre plays to political history museums to night clubs ( both upmarket and in Soweto ) to choral concerts to eateries in Soweto etc. Before she left she insisted on buying several traditional style outfits from SA designers. At the time we still had Sun Goddess and Stoned Cherrie so she bought a few outfits for herself and family. For her entire visit she was very intentional about supporting black SA businesses and got her entire group to join her.
Hi sis Vee, there is an American couple that has a tourism company called The Real South Africa, they have brought quite a number of Americans to South Africa 🇿🇦. They also conduct estate tours, some people do buy properties…
They are really working hard to show African Americans the real South Africa not the poor/hungry Africa that they see on tv in the US. Mr Mart & Dr Latasha Blanton
@@Noks_KZN how is this good? How is it good to bring more foreigners to inflate house prices that will keep us in the hood. How is any of this good for South africans
@@thomasmeruti1169The Blantons are good people and introduced many Americans to South Africa. I’m an American who lives down the street from me when I’m in South Africa.
I can categorically say as long as any foreigners are not on welfare in that countey, they are definitely spending in that country. So they are contributing. If someone buys bread from the spaza down the road thats a contribution. When they rent, that's a contribution. It contributes to the dynamic growth of culture.
AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE SPECIAL LOVELY AND BREATH OF FRESH AIR. JUST FOR THEM FOR COMING TO OUR COUNTRY TO VISIT, STAY PERMANENTLY IS A GREAT BLESSING. THAT IS A GREAT CONTRIBUTION BY ITSELF. THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WHO LOOK JUST LIKE US BLACK SOUTH AFRICANS LOVE OUR COUNTRY & ADORE ITS PEOPLE. WE LOVE THEM A LOT & THOSE SOUTH AFRICANS WHO COME IN CONTACT WITH THEM, PLEASE SHOW THEM GREAT GENUINE MZANSI STYLE LOVE CALLED UBUNTU & PLEASE DO THIS FOR US WHO HAVE NOT YET MET THEM PERSONALLY EXCEPT ONLY VIA TH-cam VIDEOS. PLEASE LOVE THEM FOR US.
Great Video as usual. And yes it’s true. African Americans don’t travel as much and I even think 2 percent is a high number for us to have passports. But the one thing I can say is our travel consciousness is growing. BTW I’m Jamaican American (parents are jamaican) and reggae music is my heart. I’m jealous you went to reggae show in DC. Must have been nice. Keep upbeat and keep the revolution going !!
Because this is our home Black Americans don't feel the need to travel outside our country. That is why the Passport rate is so low. I do suspect it's higher for black immigrants(like yourself) as they tend to travel from country to country. Black Americans and black immigrants are different l
Americans have a lot in common with South Africans, first they were the biggest Anti-apartheid campaigners, America is a sovereign state, just like South Africa , their education is not influenced by colonisers, we need such systems and people
It really is ok even if they don't..😢 I've been scared to go back home because people are on me about what I'm bringing from the city? Or scared to go home because of the topic of what it is that I bring..? Black Americans, I brought nothing to the USA in 2022, just my self, work and my mouth ne camera nje.. I still ❤ San Francisco. You'll just come and bring your cameras 😂 and experience Africa
A lot of black from the usa travel to South Africa two - three times a year for vacation or trade and investment to look at opportunities to start business… and buy property..So yes every person who travels there makes a difference on the economy… So what ever hotels or restaurants they visit I’m sure it helping with tourism market. The USA offers so much to do with in a few hours drive or flight time across the usa .Most people rather not take a 16 hr flight… Not many folks won’t to buy a $2500 round trip flight to have no lights or water for 5 of the 7 days there..
I’m an American who travels to South Africa 3-4 times a year. The opportunities there often surpass what’s available for most Black Americans in the U.S. Thanks to my associates, I’m far more connected to the government there than here. I invest into the South African economy and am involved in healthcare, real estate, and hospitality projects. As for the $2,500 plane tickets-at that price, something’s off. Either people are flying during peak seasons without competitive shopping or avoiding coach, because flights are usually much cheaper during the U.S. fall and spring. I just returned from Johannesburg last week, spending only $850 on a round trip with a long layover in London, which I used to go sightseeing PS: The electrical situation is normal in Gauteng. I think it always was normal but some internal entity was playing by games with those years of rolling blackouts (load shedding). lol

Any tourist contributes to the economy though. 6 months in SA? That’s a cash injection, unless if you are referring to people who live completely on the government.
