I like this one best of the hidden role games. Uncertainty is better in a game than flat out lying.

When talking about which characters to play at which player count, just a note. The other characters can be swapped about a bit to add variety according to a couple of simple rules. The rule book provides initial set up, to be varied on susequent games if you want.

The rule book actually has the thief and not the witch in the basic game for 5. Or have rules changed since 2014? Considering this seems to be their first round.

I think you forgot you can effectively pay 1 coin to stop someone else using their ability and they happen to be wrong. For that reason never skip people so quickly who know they dont have the role but have the option to call someone on their bluff. Or not.

after revealing your role you should have made the swap card move, not using each card's power...

So I have The Resistance & Love Letter, and I also have Sheriff of Nottingham (quite similar in some respects), do I need this? Or Coup? Or should I just stick with what I've got? Or should I get Good Cop Bad Cop? Or Bang! The Dice Game? Unfortunately, I need to draw the line somewhere - I cannot buy everything!

I own all the games you've mentioned and they all have enough differences that it's not bad to have them all. They're all great games because I love the hidden role and bluffing games.

Thanks for the playthrough video. My purchase of the game is coming tomorrow! Can't believe I almost didn't watch.

I've never played this game before. I am going to buy it now that I have seen you guys play it. I might add a house rule to add a bit more confusion to the game. You shuffle all the revealed cards with the center and deal them back out. So falsely claiming to find out your role just costing 1 coin would be eliminated.

Basically this is like Coup and ONUW had a kid and that's awesome!

Great video. The feeling of games like this and Love Letter really come across better than the more complex board games. I wouldn't suggest not doing the heavier games, just keep adding a fair amount of the lighter ones in.

Nowhere in the rules does it state that the Cheat has to reveal his role at the end. If you claim to be the Cheat and no one challenges you and you have 10+ coins then you win the game. It's on everyone else to cal your bluff. Or else it doesn't make sense... the Cheat is the only card where you must be telling the truth?

2 years late watching this, but I think they meant that you will never actually go unchallenged with it since it's a de facto win, sorta. So it's not a hard rule, but everyone is never gonna miss their chance, however small, to win too if they could be the cheat

this game seems to be similar to coup and love letter. looks fun.

I wish you would have played this game at least twice in a row, rather than the long discussion at the end.

Yeah, they spent more time talking about the game than playing the game! They had so much time to play again, but sometimes that just happens. Cool game either way.

Cheat HAS TO reveal himself to beat a cheat to win the game. No bluffing

19:47 I don't think you can claim to be the king after 3 players revealed their hand and paid coins to the courthouse. Again 24:12 you cheat according to your own words 5:04

    • @romanphoenix999
      @romanphoenix999 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+Daniel Filippus At 5:04, he just says that when you were part of a challenge against the previous player (and thus everyone knows exactly what you are), then you have to swap. But both times, the player wasn't part of the challenge.
