Man went into a deep sleep as he entered the physical world. The reason for going into total amnesia was to allow himself to experience Who He Is. As you wake up from the deep sleep - you go into the process of evolution. You go deeper in awareness and grow higher in Consciousness.
It is like a tree - it goes deeper in root and higher with stem. It develop branches which in turn bare fruit.
The ideas that are held in mind are the basis of all consciousness. They determine the level of consciousness in the process of evolution.
