    Agree with all except the utility of Silkbind Vault. Kinsect Glide is problematic when monster is marked because you cannot control Kinsect Glide, it will automatically glide towards the marked spot. Silkbind Vault is very useful as it acts like a second dash when in air. Tons of mobility and easy to reposition especially when using Diving Wyvern. It's so underrated.

      Yeah I prefer SB vault for repositioning and increased air time

      Yep I agree, Silkbind Vault is a must for me.

    • @vitriolicAmaranth
      @vitriolicAmaranth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just tested both (I don't normally use silkbind moves at all) and apart from the fact that kinsect glide picks up your kinsect if it's nearby and out, I don't see the point. It
      -doesn't work if your kinsect is out and not nearby
      -can't be aimed if the monster is marked OR your kinsect is out (if you have your kinsect and the monster is marked it targets the mark, if your kinsect is out it targets the kinsect)
      -can only be used once per vault
      -covers just barely more distance than silkbind vault, but way less if you vault two let alone three times with silkbind
      By comparison silkbind vault works whether you have your kinsect with you or not (interestingly, so does "kinsect slash), can be aimed anywhere anytime, can be used as long as you have a wirebug ready and can also be used to gain height while traversing the map (in base rise I can imagine this would have been a downside while in combat, but with kinsect slash it should be a non-issue).
      And on the topic of kinsect slash, it's clearly superior because even if its total MV is lower it is effectively impossible to land every hit of Jumping Advancing Slash on a weakspot, let alone do it repeatedly, except on the largest, slowest targets (maybe Gaisma). 60 MV on a 50 or 60 HZV is better than 96 MV spread over three different HZVs, with the backloaded damage mostly hitting hitzones you were not aiming for, meaning it'll be more like 32 on a hitzone of ~55, 30 on a HZV of ~25 and 34 on a HZV of ~20, for an EFMV of 58 in twice the time it takes to just land 60 on the head with KS, the typical scenario for JAS. Slightly less damage in twice the time.

    • @andreluissoriano
      @andreluissoriano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vitriolicAmaranth exactly that I was expecting as the result. Thanks! The only scenario JAS is hetter than Kinsect Slash is if you’re using Powder Kinsects. Kinsect Slash recalls your kinsect so it’s not ideal as you want your powder kinsects to continously attack.

    • @vitriolicAmaranth
      @vitriolicAmaranth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andreluissoriano Oh yeah, that's fair. Honestly, powder feels very clunky to me in Rise either way, and assist is a lot stronger in most use-cases, so I don't think about it much. It was a neat feature in World, though. IG is pretty much the only weapon I enjoyed MORE in World than in any other game.

    Severing Kinsects deal elemental damage directly proportional to the base elemental value the glaive has as well as the Kinsect Level.
    You can test this by comparing damage values of a non-elem glaive (Narga, Kamura, etc.) versus an elem glaive of the same Kinsect Level (Luna, Rathalos, etc.). When Severing Kinsects hit, they also have the corresponding particle effects of that same element: fire bursts for Fire, water splashes for Water, snow clouds for Ice, blue lightning for Thunder, and red sparks for Dragon.
    Severing Kinsects aren’t used as often because when you’re solo or speedrunning, having the capability to stun a monster while using a Blade weapon is extremely good. However, if you’re in a party with a Hammer user or a Bowgun user shooting stickies at the monsters head, with people that can reliably KO a monster, that’s when the option of using a Severing Kinsect becomes more valuable as you can focus on cutting off a tail.

    Super recovery dango lvl 4 basically eliminates dereliction health drain. Especially if you add in the gourmet fish buff. Makes dereliction so easy to run without worrying about the health drain.

    The Magia tree's rarity 10 weapon, the Staff of Laertes, seems just about right for a Powder Kinsect Vortex build. It has a nice solid amount of white sharpness, 320 raw with 46 blast and kinsect level 15, and an ungodly amount of slots - 211 and Rampage 3. That's more than enough to rely on for occasional whacking and a lot of explosions.

I use on multiplayer as well but you just explode them quicker, 2 or 3 instead of a big bomb. Still helps your damage and get health for your teammates

    Ibushi's weapons are crazy on any weapon type that really chews through sharpness, provided you have a good grinder (s) talisman. That's because it has a small amount of natural purple and skips white, so grinder (s) provides 34 raw for 90 seconds every time you sharpen. Combine with protective polish 2 (3 is too much because it'll give you grinder downtime, you actually want only 2) and speed sharpen 3 and you'll basically be at purple sharpness with 374 base raw and neutral affinity for 90 second every time you sharpen. You can easily hit 100% crit boost 3 affinity with that too, provided you have the grinder talisman. I personally find it a tedious way to play, but I think it's worth mentioning since IG is one of those weapons that benefits heavily from it (and imo the IG is one of Ibushi's best-looking weapons).

      indeed bowguns have been op for example when exploiting the sticky ammo slugger effect, but after maining most of rise with bowguns, i noticed the highest ranks were really terrible with the hbg because of the monsters being much more agressive/faster in their attacks, especially with the monsters of sunbreak its hard to get out of their rushing over you because of low mobility. LBG is pretty much the best in these cases tho. but now i played glaive i really feel so much more powerful just because you can evade everything much easier and keep landing hits while doing that instead of getting stuck in a position where you can only hold your guard or like with the LBG these fast monsters you start to keep using the fanning manouvre just to avoid getting hit all the time, giving you almost no time left to shoot anymore....... so i think they pretty decendly nerfed the bowguns in sunbreak. i also found out all the speedruns with hbg sticky builds are not valid anymore because they added more recoil it fires much slower so thats not working anymore in sunbreak either......... i was constantly stressing out with the bowguns lately, but now playing glaive feels super chill

    One thing I noticed: You don't use the manual kinsect aim to cancel the downtime frames of Tetraseal/Tornado. Aiming and using the manual recall (or the launch), besides now giving you s with yellow extract post-Sunbreak, is a hard animation cancel that will skip recovery frames - and turn you in the direction you're aiming at. So you can get some really stupid uptime that way.
    It's a trick that's worked since at least World, and Capcom seems to have intentionally buffed it further by making it a dodge.

    • @vitriolicAmaranth
      @vitriolicAmaranth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's worked since 4U, but it was underutilized until World because Tornado Slash, while marginally stronger than the infinite combo with most styles in GU, was not worth the attack commitment, wonky hitbox and ruined positioning in most cases (and was outright weaker than the infinite in 4U). In most damage windows in 4U rising slash into tornado slash was better damage than rising slash into strong slashes into circle slash repeat, but that's because you usually only got a chance to use the "infinite" once and the infinite's strength came in large part from the extra hit in the rising slash after circle slash, so as time went on you'd see WR run videos shifting toward starting the combo with circle slash instead of with rising slashes (which would outdamage anything you could do with tornado slash in that game). Tornado slash was strong in valor style, but that style was all about momentum especially since you could send out and recall your kinsect with certain attacks in your combos (sort of the prototype for assist kinsects).
      I still find it more fun and in many cases effective in World to link combos with the thrust after tornado slash, into backslash into tornado slash if repositioning is necessary, otherwise circle slash or rising slashes into tornado slash depending on the position of the monster's head. In Sunbreak the ideal combo seems to be thrust into circle into upswings into tornado if you have the time for it, but in TAs so far I'm mostly seeing people literally just using the 4U infinite starting with circle slash, while in base Rise it was thrust into circle into tornado (which was also the highest MV/s in World from my frame data testing, but since- and I can't believe I'm saying World had harder positioning than ANY other game- minute repositioning was harder in that game, this would often waste your circle slash on the monster's leg or something and as a result deal less damage than other potential combos, or take just barely too long for your window of opportunity, making it worse than slam into tornado or (non-thrust) circle into tornado for example).

    • @FelisImpurrator
      @FelisImpurrator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vitriolicAmaranth I think the instant turn is a lot more useful for casual play, since most non-speedrunners don't have perfect positioning. The switch skills are harder overall to aim than the base attacks, especially since the leaping slash is way more controllable than its switch and gauging range can be harder for people used to it. It's just very convenient that we get an actual animation cancel. It's way easier in Rise because even Switch has gyro aim, though.
      Still interesting info, even though I don't really use meta DPS.

    With Rise they made IG super fun, with Sunbreak they must have found some kind of dark magic cuz the IG is waaaaaay more fun than ever. Through base Rise I swapped between IG and SwAxe, and when I was confident enough I'd bust out the GS. But so far in Sunbreak I haven't swapped weapons once. This IG is some of the most fun I've ever had in a game.

  • @simz3192
    @simz3192 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It's insane how many people are sleeping on how much better this weapon got. I have been consistently carrying lobbies online with IG. I run the reframework DPS tracker mod and I am consistently carrying about 50% of a 4 person lobby's dps. I love the changes so much.
    I use the Foebeetle assist kinsect that way on my opening I can always get Earplugs on monster roars and then target the face to get Red extract on Kinsect Slash. Always confirms a level 3 diving wyvern and then I proceed to fish for Roundslash counters. When mon is downed or trapped I sometimes swap to Advance kinsect to yeet in the face then follow up with 2 kinsect slashes on the face for red extract into a slicer. Its just super satisfying.

    hey, im checking out this build you show in this video, but i noticed that there is no coalesence skill in it? often builds with bloodlust (that activate frenzy stuff) are paired with the coalesence (that give you buff after recovery from blights) have you tried that also? for example taking the arc/storge helm instead of the kaiser crown helm would put coalesence in there instead of some critical boosts. hmm im going to try out which gives higher damage right now, but need to farm the rathalos coil first lol

    • @Roensmusic
      @Roensmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      also using the arc/storge helm instead would give you bloodlust lvl 2 with it instead of only having 1. so the question now is does this effect give better dps compared to affinity

    • @Roensmusic
      @Roensmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so Ive just checked out my dereliction glaive build also had the teostra helm ..just using the arc helm instead giving me the bloodlust and coalesence skills also, is already giving me more dps, and also the red hp from dereliction is being restored when bloodlust/(and coalesence) gets activated.... So i guess these skills are better than making use of critical skills .....correct me if im wrong... Btw eating a gourmet fish at the start is counting the hp drop from dereliction also a lot

    • @Roensmusic
      @Roensmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The build in this video with the arc helm like i said, does give a bit higher attack rating ... But on the other hand its less safe because then you dont have the stun protection.... So yeah its just what you prefer more

      Kinsect Slash is a great alternate aerial skill, better control and timer, and it pairs well with Diving Wyvern. Most of the time wings are not the priority target, IG should go for Head or Tail, especially during MR hunt, JAS just expose yourself too much in the air.
