You should definitely keep the 4S on 8.1.2 on that firmware. It's great for jailbreak, coolbooter works really good on the iOS bellow iOS 8.4.
I had an iPhone 4s running iOS 8.1.2 but I downgraded it to iOS 6.1.3.
I like iOS 8.0-8.3, and anything after that sucks and I kinda like iOS 1-6. Anything other like 7, 8.4, 9, 10, and 11 suck.
I mean it's really fast (I use 6.1.3, coolbooted on my iPod touch 5th gen) but there are some cydia tweaks that I couldn't live without such as Moviebox which works the best on iOS 8 and I can't get it running on iOS 6.
Sorta like me. iOS 8 is the best to stay on if you want to install most of the up to date apps and you want a proper jailbreak.

I found a cracked Iphone 4s for like 10 bucks free shipping on ebay. Should I buy it? After watching these videos, it's usually either the dock, and/or the battery. I think it is worth it.
EDIT: I bought a 20 dollar working Iphone 4s, and it has 16GB and no cracks. Great!

I have an iPhone 4S which is fully working well and has a version of 9.3.5 with 16 GBs
The iPhone 4 and 4S were so easy to get into, but now with these 'unibody' designs the screen stays attached to the phone and you have to take pretty much everything out to get the screen off.

I had an iPhone 4s that I found and it was passcode locked so I put it through iTunes and I went to a screen that said iPhone is disabled so I connected it to iTunes again and still says it’s passcode locked even though I wiped all the stuff of it.....

I believe that any iPhone before the iPhone 6 won't accept any more power than the basic 5w charger

For activation errors, you should bypass it with ssh_rd tool

Do you have any tips on removing screens that are smashed? I have a 3gs and it is smashed with a building battery and I want to get it out. But when I try to use the suction cup the air goes through the cracks and therefore has no suction. I've tried putting duct tape over the screen and everything, but nothing works.
