    Beautiful restore. I still have one of these sitting in my room in its case. A friend gave me one around iphone 5 I believe and I used it for mp3s only, but put hard case around it, clip case and screen protector so its still pretty mint, very minimal scratches. Didn't think they were worth anything though!

    I still remember the first time I laid hands on this device. Some of my friends' family just returned from the us with a simlocked iphone. The only way to unlock that and flash it so it can use any sim was basically to connect two traces together so the phone could be rooted. That was the jankiest stuff I've ever pulled on one of these but it did work in the end, and the person was super happy except for the slightly bent frame. Of which I can see you also are having some trouble with :D

    • @Pasi123
      @Pasi123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      The first iPhone had really limited features when it was released. The App Store didn't exist until a day before the second iPhone (3G) was released so you wasn't able to install any 3rd party apps. You only had the things that the phone came with. It didn't even have video recording, MMS (popular back then), file manager, multitasking, 3G, WiFi hotspot, bluetooth file transfer (popular back then) and many other things.
      Nokia already had a some kind of App store on Symbian smartphones and of course you were able to get apps from web sites. There was also some Symbian UIQ smartphones from Sony etc. with touchscreen and of course Windows Mobile smartphones

    Sounding positive there mate!! Cheering us all up. Interesting seeing these old ones being repaired. The design is just a world away from today's restrictive, tri-winged tricky "can't do anything because otherwise we'll stop your features from working" designs such as any of the newer no home button iPhones or even just iPhone 7 or 8s. That why I enjoy stripping down a four every so often just to keep my hand in it while I have no newer projects.

    The first ever smartphone was the palm’s Treo, starting from the “180º to the last model the “Pro”, (the firs iPhone was a direct competitor of this one). When palm sinked down, apple bought most of it’s product patents, the most famous was the quick silence action switch (the Treo had it at the top instead the side location on the iPhone) and the capacitative two parts touch screen. However nowadays the iPhone become a totally different gadget and it’s awesome, now it’s a referent of how a mobile phone hato be. After owning 6 different treo models, I got ,y first iPhone, my first one was the same of the video, and I loved it from the first moment, i got really amazed for the easy way to “synchronize” it whit my power book just like my iPod, and now I can simply live without apple products, and your videos every Saturday afternoon
