I just ordered some for my psvr2. I had to close out and not use your affiliate link so I’m emailing customer support to see if they can credit you. First time viewer so thank you

Aww you didn't have to go that far but I really appreciate that, thank you! 💜 Welcome in @EJD339

Just ordered those for my Quest 3 using your affiliate link. I had the Zenni VR lenses before, but not happy with those, as they kept coming with defects, after warranty exchange. Let's hope those ones would be better though. Also, love the magnetic clip on system, which will help when going to party and have my friends use the headset.

Hey thanks for using the link, that's super nice of you 💜 I am curious how you'll enjoy the HonsVR lenses once you receive them, and how they compare to your other lenses.
Also yes, the magnetic lenses are amazing! I already made so much use of them sharing the headset with my mom who also wears glasses. It makes it quick to just pop them in and out. Happy New Year 🎉

Quick question, I wanna get the plano ones, when compared to without inserts, do you loose any fov at all? I use the closet spacer on the notches, amvr insert, just afraid of scratching the lenses on the quest...debating getting them or not. I usually wear contacts anyways so not sure i should get the prescription version, but if so...do the magnetic ones make it lose more fov also? Asking since you got both.

FOV is unaffected, and I do not notice any perceivable difference between the lens designs. Both of them snap into the Quest 3 lens frame in the same fashion and they do not hinder FOV for me.

4 members of my family wear glasses. Do you know if there is enough space to use the non prescription lenses to protect the quest lenses while also wearing glasses? I couldn't stretch to buy 4 sets of prescription lenses. Thank you for the video its very informative.

It will depend on the face and how the glasses sit on their face, but I'd imagine it's possible to wear glasses with the inserts, but you'd lose a lot of FOV because you'd have to put the facial relief all the way extended. You also then risk the glasses touching the lens protectors since they are capable of touching together. I'd honestly just use the spacer, because it makes it impossible to touch the Quest 3 lenses when wearing glasses, and the glasses wearer would have a better experience being closer to the lenses.

i heard people with high correction values will have problems with closeup things, like not beeing able anymore to read menu texts in vr if they are very close, if you use correction lenses for the headset, a problem that you seemingly not have, if you use contacts.

Yeah I heard that people who have trouble seeing at various distances will need to use their prescription for seeing something at the HMD's focal distance. Every HMD is slightly different, but they're usually set to around 1 to 1.5 meters. So whatever prescription you need to see around that distance is what you would need for VR prescription lenses. I'd imagine the majority of users wouldn't have this issue though.

cant say for sure... btu what i can say: its not solace for the minority, that the majority doenst have that problem :D curiously is that iam -6,5 which is considered major and when i wear contacts, i cant even read my phone screen untill i hold it at an arms lenght, but contacts and vr? i can push text against my face and can still read it clear as day, while my wife, with just -1 cant read anything menu wise in any game.. even without glasses. its like she goes from near sighted to farsighted with hmd @@ThisKory

Interesting, that's very insightful, thank you. My prescription is pretty light so I wouldn't know about this issue until you brought it up.
I know for me that with or without glasses, things up close are blurry, so this is (I think) normal. For some reason close objects have always been tricky to focus on when using both eyes. I find that if I close one eye I am able to then focus on a close object. Give that a try, I'm curious if it's an issue with prescription lenses, or just a quirk for VR.

closing one eye? i will relay that info to her, maybe it works for her too cuz right right its a pain, if a message appears onscreen, she has to lift the headset up to read it on the monitor because its to blurry inside the hmd.
and as for that, i really dont understand the physics here. without any correction, i can only read my phone screen when i hold it as far from my eyes, as my hand is wide. which is obvious, since iam shortsighted. when i wear glasses, that point, movies further out, meaning at a hands wide distance, its now to close for ready, needs to be 2 hands now and contacts make it even worse, as i sad, suddenly, arms lenght. but in vr, theres nothing, no matter of glasses or contacts, near or far, every distance is sharp, while none of my friends, even the ones, not needing presciption glasses, can read the closeup stuff and i feel, i should be the other way around. only explenation i have is: since ive always been shortsighted as long as i can think of, iam used to due certain things upclose.. like in the shower, after waking up with the phone in bed etc, so all that "having stuff 10cm infront of your eyes to be able to read it" over 3 decades, trained my eyes to focus to extrem ends that normal seeing people, never needed to reach.. but idk@@ThisKory

25 bucks for some plastic protectors seems steep. Ill wait until someone makes some silicone ones like the Q2. That way they protect the lens of the HMD and your glasses.

    • @ThisKory
      @ThisKory  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

If you just want lens spacers, then sure, the silicone spacers are great if they ever make them for the Q3.
That being said, these are not just spacers. These are also prescription lenses, so you don't even need to wear glasses when using these since the lenses both act as prescription lenses, and a protective barrier for your Q3 lenses.
I think the price is an absolute steal considering it'll cost you the price of a new Quest 3 if you ever scratch your lenses out of warranty. If you need glasses or not (you can order them without a prescription), these lenses are wonderful and serve a dual purpose.
