Great video and you displayed DSS bars nicely. I think it would have been good to explain the purpose of DSS because I would assume most viewers of this video don't yet know all the details.
Awesome picking and a great vid! Thanks a lot for your insight and breakdown of this lock, it will sure come in handy after I deal with more basic stuff
@@crispix I do have the massive 362 that appears to have the connecting bars and also the key has a ball bearing at the end of it. Can’t remember what it is called. At this point I am trying to get my Abus plus picked on camera. Have picked it a few times but it’s camera shy😅 will probably try the Abloy classic next and hopefully move up from there 🤞 🐾🐈🐈⬛🐾
@@chriscapune7873 Ball bearing in the key means it's a Protec2, hardest Abloy DD! Way beyond my skills, both picking and tool making. More people have stood on the moon than picked one of them, can't help you much on that one! Classic is great though, awesome lock, good tool making project, and imho no harder to pick than Abus plus so you should have no trouble
Wow fantastic explanation of the lock and picks 👏 you are fast becoming a master at all things dd 😀 keep the videos coming please 🙏 oh and your soldering skills are far better than mine 😀
Thanks! Still feeling well short of master skills, got a Protec2 sat on a shelf next to me which is good to remind me how far there is to go! Next project is a Rosengrens (not going to use your pick for this one I'm afraid), then some challenge locks, but I have a DL Pro euro cylinder that sooner or later I won't be able to avoid...
Thanks. Hardest part of this lock is working out the tools and techniques, picking isn't that bad, so a man with your skills should be into one in no time. Maybe.
The handles are from RWB custom picks, you can find them on Facebook and Instagram, or email rwbcnc@gmail.com. Locknoob did a video review a while back if you want a better idea of the full package. These are not stock tips though, I made them myself for rear tension locks like this one.
Sure, I got it from someone in Poland, but not going to post details here on TH-cam. There are quite a few knocking around in Europe and the US, sometimes appear in big batches on eBay and get sold on. If you want one I recommend lock bazaar on the LPU discord. I think I've also seen padlocks with exec core for sale in the UK on gumtree maybe? Search Abloy padlock.
The forces operating these locks are very low indeed and brass is quite wear resistant, so I think the wear rate will be very low. The design of the lock means it should also be quite tolerant to a reasonable level of wear, although of course it would eventually wear out
Hey Jack, the basic tool is from RWB custom picks, rwbcnc@gmail.com. It is a good tool I think, excellent quality for the price. But, if you want to use it on an Exec you'll need to make new tips as I have here.

Yeah, get on it! Once the lock is understood the actual picking isn't really any harder than many other DD locks, totally doable
Brilliant work , explanation and picking!!!! Wow!!! Thanks for sharing this!!! 🐈⬛🐾🐈👏👏👏👏
Glad you like it Chris, if you can find one of these well worth the effort

Excellent work my friend - congratulations 👏 hats off Sir 💪
Thanks man, enjoyed this one. Looking forward to seeing a few of these open soon 🤞🤞
Awesome picking and tip design. 👍
Thanks, it was a fun project, well worth the effort if you like tool making and picking DD locks
Amazing!

Is there a lock on my computer's volume I have to pick, so I can hear you, cuz you be mad whispering. Lol

Heeey, I'm back at blue now!

Oh, and check out his trays too, really good for my needs anyway
You know, who goes around picking locks? You just use bolt cutters or a hammer instead!
u talkin way tooo loud .....u scresming ....hahahaha naw my griend talk normal ....dobt shane yourself while videoibg at night
he's used to talking quietly, because when you're picking locks you can't usually speak out loud...
speak up, why are you whispering
Softly spoken, I can hear him fine.
Your voice is way to quiet on this video. I don't care to try to watch content that I have to strain to hear.
Each to their own - yes he’s softly spoken but I can hear him just fine. You missed a great picking tutorial.
