Personally, I carry a revolver, because that thing fires whatever rounds I put into its cylinder, be it FMJs, JHPs, Lead Flat-Nosed rounds, JSPs, Hard Cast rounds, Hydra-Shok JSPs, Xtreme Penetrators, you name it. It just isn't finicky on ammo, unlike some semi-autos and her Glock 42. Revolvers have way less ammo capacity, I know, but I don't go out and expect the army to come after me.
@@georgezink8256 my Glock 19 loves all ammo probably over 500 rounds so far without a single issue but I'm probably going to get a 10mm Glock for hiking with the dog. Nothing against revolvers I'd just rather have more fire power
Dan, assuming you are not being sarcastic, Maggie moved on to work for her cousin's gun store, "Gunner's". Blue Steel is fine, Maggie is fine and all is well over here.
Amazing, I have heard this also , i acquired a G42 a few years ago and never had a problem getting it to cycle everything.. mine was used and the srore owner said i garantee you wont have any failures. Im thinking of carrying Hornady 380 critical ammo.
My boss (the owner) carries a glock 29 chambered in 10mm. I'm the manager, and I'll carry a Shield45 or Glock 29. Like Maggie, I ALSO have a shoulder holster with a Beretta 92fs
I've loved Galco holsters for so long that my first one was actually a Jackass (before it was renamed Galco). However, they've priced themselves out of my budget. There are other brands I like just as well for about half the price. They're good but they're not *that* good. It's a shame.
A month or so ago (when it got cold) I was looking through "the box", you know, the box of old holsters everyone has, and it had that same shoulder rig Maggie has, i oiled it up looking brand new and can't believe how nice it is with having to wear coats this time of year. Also I drive a car that is targeted for highjackers and it is an easier pull while sitting than my 4 O'clock paddle. ;
Never had an issue cycling any 9mm ammo through my G43.... Not a fan of the 380 cal so I don't own one. Something interesting, I recently had an intruder and had to draw my G43. I was reminded the proper fit right away is extremely important..... so.... I am getting a G30. Great video!
Have a G42. It’s does need to break in. Struggled with the 1st 200 rds then I switched ammo and shot it for 700 rds trouble free with another brand then switched back to the original ammo and it runs fine now. Just needed to break in. Very accurate BTW.
Gotta agree with Maggie about the G42. Most ammo picky of any of the dozen plus semis I own, including 22s. Getting better after about 250 rounds, but only FMJ, 95 grains. Won’t waste (more) money even trying HPs, will never use for personal defense… have a CZ75 compact, 100% reliable, for that.
Yeah I can't imagine why anyone would carry a gun they don't trust when their life could depend on it working properly. If any of mine has more than a 1% failure rate they're range use only or going to the pawn shop.
Maggie's personality is great, and makes her videos just as much fun as they are informative and interesting. As for her personal pistol selection. . . may I suggest a Sig P365 to replace her Glock? My experience is that a gun that requires the pointy Hornady round to be reliable (a new Kahr that hasn't been broken in yet, for example) is still going to be fussy later in life. Personally, I prefer 1911s over just about everything. What about the Dan Wesson ECO? Very nice piece and my go-to choice for hot weather under a T-shirt. In the Commander size, the Dan Wesson Valor Commander is excellent, especially when upgraded with an RMR. For a full-size Government model for a duty gun, the Springfield Professional in 45 is as good as it gets.
My local gun store knows about the guns I miss... The owner called me up one day about a Colt Anaconda that had a scope on it. He started to describe it and I stopped him. I told him about a gouge in the finish and he confirmed it... That was my very first store bought gun! It traveled around the globe with me in the early 90's. I pawned it in 1994 because I needed gas and grocery money. When I came back for it, the pawn shop had sold it before the due date! How it ended up in Texas, I will never know but it's right here in my home town and I'm the only one with the option to buy it... problem is I'm still too broke to buy it again!
I have 3 shields. Two 9's and a .45, and none of them have ever missed a beat. The Desert Eagle is a nice gun, but not very practical for CC. Especially in the summer time, and that goes for all big guns.
It's the exact opposite for me: 2 .45's and 1 9. My double stack 1911 .45 is my bedside gun. Can't find a holster for the darn thing anywhere so that and range toy is all it can really be used for. 😕
If I was behind the counter in my store I want a CCW permit. I like the Mk.2 Thunderstruck. 2 rounds of .22WRM is enough to stop any assailant in the store without significant risk to outsiders.. I'm told to avoid the Mk1 as its shorter barrels could cause the bullet to fail to stabilise and tumble. That might be limited to certain brands of ammo. Any experts reading this please educate me/us.
In my humble opinion, the 1911 is still the best semi-auto pistol design ever. Thank you John Moses Browning for the hardware, and thank you God for the guiding hand. And of course the Beretta 92 comes a close second.

@stevenmorris2293 To the best of my knowledge and memory the 9mm's bullet diameter can be .355, .356 or .357 . I think the average is .356 in diameter. I think the bullet diameter of the 38super is. 355 or .357 ( not too sure anymore, memory ). The 38super has a slightly longer case , a flatter trajectory and more power. But,with the advent of more powerful powders the 38super may have lost that advantage over the 9mm which has a shorter case lending possibly to a smaller gripped weapon.

I misinterpret the title. I thought this would be a video of was guns are chosen to be carried for sale by a gun shop. What is process for choosing which guns to stock?
I have worked at several gun shops and did gun shows for decades, having the butt of your loaded gun pointing toward the customer is a bad idea. Everyone can tell you're right handed, so they could grab your right hand then the gun and it's over. Having a leather strap around your upper body could give an attacker more control if needed. Not a big deal, but you need to worry more about your safety rather than making a fashion statement. This is about keeping you safe, not upsetting you.
I'm surprised to hear that a Glock is ammo sensitive I thought that was their big selling point with their unsupported chambers. I got my wife into shooting a few years back with a S&W 380 EZ it will shoot well with anything, ball, hollow point, 62gr solid copper, and even including my 102gr wheel weight cast ammo.
I had a Davis .380 that was junk . You were lucky to get one shot off with that thing . I turned it in to the Police department so they could use it for show n tell
@@farmerbob7585 Figured I would get the wife a ruger lc380. I did. It sucked to small of a grip. And a country mile trigger pull. She was not comfortable with it and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 0ft. She hated it. Didnt want to shoot it. Tried moving her into 9mm but hurt her wrist when shooting. So started looking for 380 options. All other 380s seemed the same. Then came across the browning black label. Didnt like the price, and neither did she. Said she didn't want to spend that much on a pistol. Went and looked at one. She was very happy with the weight of it. ( very light) but doesn't act like it in the recoil. As soon as she put it in her hand she was in love. Walked out 20 minutes later, with a black label medallion pro and about 900 lighter in pocket book. Didnt even make it home. Had to go shoot it first. She was in love. And could hit something with it. That was 6 years ago and haven't looked back. Our daughter liked it so much bought one for her on her 21rst bday. Go look at one great gun, light and can hide almost anywhere. Basic model can be had for around 600.
I considered a factory new .380acp black 1911a1 pistol. I'm left handed & I strongly dislike grip safety levers. ⬇️ ... I owned 1 .380acp in 2018. A Ruger LCPll gun. Talo Ed.
Maggie, the "bastard" caliber for the 1911 style would be 10 mm Mag, and that is one truly expensive caliber to even reload. Here in Canada the brass alone was getting up to $1 a round, which is why I sold mine. But it sure did reach out with authority, grin.
Yup - the 1911 long-slide would easily drop the 100 yard Rams on the silhouette range. But I purely hated losing brass outdoors, especially after I got laid-off at 58 and had to cut back on expenses. I'm back to the old .357 Mag as a versatile and affordable tool at the range. @@glock271
The easier to get and more affordable model is the Ruger Super Blackhawk. If you feel fancy, there's the Magnum Research BFR (big f***ing revolver). I do have the Super Blackhawk in 44 mag in stainless with the smooth cylinder. It's really great and handles recoil like a boss. If you're going to shoot it a lot or in dangerous situations like bears, then you might want a modern grip instead of the normal cowboy wood grips. Cheers.
I enjoy these videos with Maggie; but, I noticed something. It is not a good practice to hit the slide release and let it slam into battery on an empty chamber with no magazine to strip a round into it. Just sayin’. It’s hard on the internals, particularly the extractor.
That's the caliber that failed the FBI agents during a shootout with 2 criminals suspected of committing violent crimes around the Miami area back in 1986. Nothing against the 9mm. I think today's 9mm loads are way more effective than the 9mm loads of yesteryear, but there are instances wherein several 9mm rounds were fired and it failed to stop the attacker(s).
History of the 9mm or .35 caliber handgun round. At the end of the 19th Century, the Great John M. Browning, designed the first powerful semi-automatic pistols. Caliber designations were invented by the British, and then the advertising department took over. Despite the bullet size being .356 inch, or 9mm, it was called the .38 Automatic Colt Pistol, because Colts paid the bills, and the fixed cartridge versions, infinite versions, of the paper cartridges of the .36 “Navy” Colt percussion revolver, had been called “38 Caliber.” After much experimentation with the Colt automatic pistols of the day, the ballistics were roughly; a 130 gr jacketed bullet, at 1,175 fps, giving 398 foot pounds of energy. In European specifications this round was called 9x23SR. Over in Europe, they preferred less energetic rounds, firing low velocity light weight bullets around 9mm and zippy .30 caliber or 7.65 rounds at high or low velocity. The Kaiser’s German Army was looking at an assortment of semi-auto pistols to replace their ancient revolver. They loved the complex engineering of the Luger Pistol, with it’s watch-like fitting and fancy toggle action, so like the beloved Maxim machine gun. Then they looked over at the US of A, gasped and demanded the .30 Luger round be enlarged. The company, not wanting to spend an unnecessary Mark, just opened the case neck as much as possible, and the 9x19mm Luger round was born! Essentially, a shorter version of the 38 ACP with a lighter loading for effete Euro semi-males. The 9mm was originally loaded with a 124 gr jacketed bullet, at 1100 fps, giving 333 foot pounds. Meanwhile, back on the good side of the Atlantic, the US Army decided they needed a much bigger pistol round, because in the US of A, bigger is always better, and the .45 ACP was standardized. Colt’s, having spent much money on advertising .38 caliber handguns, and given the robust 1911 pistol, decided to expand the market and souped up the .38 ACP with more velocity, and called it the .38 Super Colt Automatic Pistol, and their marketing department sold a lot. The Super was the same as the .38 ACP, but with more velocity, a 130 gr jacketed bullet at 1280 fps for 473 foot pounds of energy.
I started with .38 special and .357 magnum revolvers 45 years ago and for carry I still mostly carry .357 magnum in a 7 shot Taurus revolver as I shoot that better than just about any other handgun I've ever shot even though I love my 1911's in .45 ACP and my Springfield XD's in 9mm I still prefer to carry what I shoot best.
I think Mags said a early model stock 9mm Shield. Not a Shield + model. M&P Shields came out around 2012 or so. I owned a stock S&W Shield, 9mm NTS or "no thumb safety" from 2014-2016 or so. Excellent sub compact pistol, no problems or flaws. ✔️ I had 1 flub with the 9mm Shield but it was as I had a improper grip, shot the 9mm without holding it correctly. The Shield fed, cycle JHPs, ball with no problems.
I owned a Aker Comfort Flex black in the 1990s. Left hand. Wore my police model 96D .40 in it. 2 off side mags. Akers are +. The grip angle is canted and the straps had no elastic or buckles.
I am a Australian and as far as i'm concerned there is only 1 1911 and that's in 45 cal end of story there is no such thing as a 9mm 1911 or a 22 1911 end of story

I just got my Falco shoulder holster nice, takes a long time to get.
people do not understand if I am right 90 years ago colt had overseas contracts for 1911s in 9mm. can not flame you for making a great gun choice
Maggie needs a browning black label in 380. Eats everything.........
I’m a 380 guy. I have a SW 380EZ, Ruger Security 380, Beretta 80X Cheetah. The Browning is on my wishlist. How long have you been using one?
10mm is a man's gun. We love this cartridge in the states.
@@glock271
I carry a .40 s&w but I can't wait to get my hands on a 10mm...
Yes Maggie's easy on the eyes.
As always great video. Maggie, Mark, or anyone else that cares to answer, are you aware of any peacemaker clone chambered in 454 casual?
The easier to get and more affordable model is the Ruger Super Blackhawk.
If you feel fancy, there's the Magnum Research BFR (big f***ing revolver).
I do have the Super Blackhawk in 44 mag in stainless with the smooth cylinder. It's really great and handles recoil like a boss. If you're going to shoot it a lot or in dangerous situations like bears, then you might want a modern grip instead of the normal cowboy wood grips.
Cheers.
Idk about a peacemaker clone but Ruger makes a super Blackhawk chambered in it. Hope that helps
@@peternorton5648 that's a nice weapon for sure but i was referring to a peacemaker replica chambered in the round
@@lonewanderer3603 Peacemaker is what I was looking for
This is so fun to watch!
She just explained why a revolver is more reliable.
I enjoy these videos with Maggie; but, I noticed something. It is not a good practice to hit the slide release and let it slam into battery on an empty chamber with no magazine to strip a round into it. Just sayin’. It’s hard on the internals, particularly the extractor.
BS
Cost is a major factor for most of us
I don't know why Maggie doesn't use a SA-35 or less expensive 9mm single action?
Sorry to say only here because of Maggie what a awesome lady
I wouldn't exactly call 9mm a bastard caliber. Probably the most popular handgun round in existence.
I'll bet you're fun at parties😂
It is in a 1911 ;
Lady's choice.
My Glock 17 and 19 is not picky about ammo. Interesting 🤔
Dump the Glock! 357 yes, 9mm yes, 380 yes favorites.
I had to post this disclaimer
Good show! Thanks
Great video!
With that horizontal shoulder rig, every time she turns the muzzle is covering something she may not want to destroy. Including people.
Good choices
The Desert Eagle is ridiculous. Are you joining to take down an elephant? They are good for looking cool in Guy Ritchie movies. lol
It's not 50AE, or even 44 Mag.
Gun gushing......many of us do it every time we go into a gun store.
when she said "My piece of trash" i was expecting her to say Taurus G2c lmao
She is back at Blue Steel?
I think we all need a DoomBot in our lives.
Hey mark have a question for you Is $700 too much for a 1985 West German sig 1911? In very good shape.
There's nothing rung with a Clay m ore , just remember, this side , well you know the rest
Shield plus 9 ! Amen sister! same as me!
Unless you own the store you probably can't afford to buy guns if you work there.
Mark, you should buy Maggie that pistol.
Maggie, most of us love guns as much as you do!!! 😂
I limit the number of calibers I own. So I understand the 1911 in 9mm.
By all means you are not alone liking guns .
So the reality is 45 ACP IS the Lord's chosen caliber... But 357 magnum provides so much temptation...
It's a crime if Galco isn't paying Maggie to be their spokesmodel.
Walther pdp compact
MAGGIE!!! Helmet hair with the weather like it is? Dedicated rider.
never apologize for a 9mm 1911.
Where is the store and what’s the name of it? You are loved so nobody best mess with you.❤
