Don't let Bellamy's otherworldly falsetto that can split the heavens make you overlook the fact that Muse songs all have incredibly effective bass tracks!
Adrian Do I really have to explain (even with my comment being really obvious) that I was just stating how perfect the whole concept of the song is? I wasn’t saying this as if I was the first person in the world noticing it. Get your shit together kid
Now that I can hear the bass parts better, I just noticed that the bass and the guitar both have the galloping rhythm to it. All this time I always thought it's only the drums
Not easy for me to learn. The technique isn't too hard, but the later part of the intro & the verses don't follow a repeating pattern (that I can discern).
Everytime I hear this song I get goosebumps of its pure awesomeness. And now I can just learn to play it myself for double goosebumps! Thanks a lot for the tabs, and great cover as always!
The 'I came to see tapping' and 'where's the tapping' comments are really annoying. The 'tapping' part isn't even actually a bass guitar, but a synthesizer. This video accurately depicts how the song is ACTUALLY played by Chris. From the galloping/palm muting intro to the actual tablature. I say, this guy is a great bassist!
For me it's my left (chord) hand. I hyper-extended my thumb years ago and it's never been the same since. It starts the ache badly after a few songs with rapid changes.
There's such a thing as synth pedals I'm pretty sure, plus the tapping is honestly one of the most fun parts of the song. In other words, if I played this song live, I would want a synth pedal, as I would want to do the bass tapping part
@@jblakeplays2541 Sure it's doable, but Chris Wolstenholme never played the synth part, neither live nor on the album. CoverSolutions plays covers as true to the original as possible.
@@justindarden5998 No, it’s not. Rocksmith is stupid for tricking people into thinking it is. That part is played on a synth. It’s not in the isolated bass track, and Chris doesn’t play it live.
Very nice cover! But I think that some muse songs like plug in baby, new born and hyper music have more demanding bass and I would really appreciate it if you can try a cover of them... keep up the great work :-)
This gives me chills, but not for the right reason, I think. It kinda draws me back to the early days in Maiden's galloping and intricate basslines. Good times...
Great man, hope one day i'll be at least a half than you actually are, can you please do ONE by METALLICA? Or TO LIVE IS TO DIE. Always thank you for you're great videos man!!
I think that each time its goes from A to Em you play two A instead of two G. Ex: bar 40 ends with 2-0-3 and 41 star with 3-0 -0 but you seem to play 2-0-0 3-0-0. Both seem fine to my ear but I c'ant decide witch one is the real thing ! Am I hallucinating notes ? Anyway you do a fantastic job ! I learn song really faster with your help Thanks a lot man.
I can finally play it all (still have to look at the tabs for the triplets I always forget the order) after about 2 hours of trying to some parts need a little work like the transition to 5-7-7-7 to 5-2-2-2 needs work but other than that it’s perfect and YYZ is another song I’m trying to learn and it looks super easy compared to this song and I can play most of YYZ
Hey, could you do power by Marcus Miller? I'm a twelve year old bassist and ear training although I've been working on it, it has been a struggle for me for faster songs so if you do the song I requested that would be great.
Loving your videos, makes me want to pick up my bass again! Not sure if you still do requests but could you do a cover of Maxwell Murder by Rancid? Been the one song I’ve been trying to play for years!
Yeah, you rock man! Well, first of all I would like to say you made it very well, the sound was great and also the gallops, but in the end of the song you could play the note 7 (on E string) instead 2 (on A string) to play the ending riff...I think that it would sounds more agressive, you know? But very great man, good job!
im a total beginner and i was trying to kinda follow along, but then that riff at 4mins in or something hit and i stopped and i was like "man, this song is awesome"
I love bass lines like this but I always get so lost half the time. I try using metronomes, but that just makes me focus on the ticking of it rather than the actual song, which I hate doing. Anyway, I guess practice makes perfect though, and I'll eventually get it down.
It has gotten incredibly annoying to see bass covers of this song & people bitching about when the player doesn't play "the tapping/synth" part when it WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE PLAY TO BEGIN WITH. Go ahead, find me the one performance where Chris plays it. I'll wait. It's just as annoying as those who can't grasp that Chris plays the first part of the song with a pick (or that he's used a pick on a few others)
Just because in Guitar Hero 3 it's actually played, it doesn't mean it's played in the live version, plus, that part is played with a synth haha, so i gree with you.
Yes, they don't play it live, but, as a bass player, that loves this song, and loves playing it, the tapping part is one of the most fun parts of this song, plus it was the first thing I've ever learned for tapping, whether it's guitar or bass, of which I play both. So if I ever get to play this song live, I'm going to want a synth pedal, and I'm going to want to play the tapping part.
JBlake plays for you great. But don't shove it down people's throats telling them that they 'should' play it. I personally think the synth part is just a way to show off. Plus, if I were playing this song live, I'd rather keep my hands off and sing the backing vocals.

Los bajos son totalmente aplastantes
LOL Yes! When it comes to Muse, I'll always pay attention to the bassline first. Not my fault. I fully blame it on Wolstenholme.
3:22 that pick is still missing to this day
every pick that is dropped has the same fate
Legend has it that it's in geosynchronous orbit around earth.
Its just in the sound hole dont worry
James Blackwood wait a minute...
It’s in the supermassive black hole
After practicing this riff for 2 hours my right bicep is now twice the size of my left bicep
This riff, sure XD
The riff? I smell cap. 😂
those gallops are ridiculous for me at least
Try disposable heroes, by Metallica.
That song huuuuuurtss.
lol
this is an amazing video, thank you so much!!
0:48 galloping

@@grieffinbass2056 loool yes I am finally going to learn to play this. Overcome pickphobia
@@selenicereus Me too, good luck to both of us 😅
I love how the entire bass and guitar parts matches with the concept of the videoclip with the horse galloping
I've listened to this song and played this song hundreds of times and never thought of it like that. Thats awesome
song with literally 'Knight' in its title "coincidentally" has galloping guitar/bass riff
wow
whats next? Four Horsemen from Metallica?

This has got to be my favourite Muse song to do on guitar, this intro is 2 minutes of awesomeness and is one of Matt Bellamy's best riffs
I like the outro riff even better.
The solo is the best written by Matt
Es buena ...tiene subidones épicos y emocionantes, pero decir que es la mejor no lo creo .. la mejor canción siempre será New Born
EPIC!!!!! easy enough to learn, hard enough to play straight through for the novice bassist. my forearms are burning.
Try pick for the triplets and then if you can, work on the 3 finger method, ring, middle index(repeated). It'll come in handy later.
@@ShuKatashSam not if you’re steve Harris

As I always think, the bass volume should be higher.
specifically this one too
Plug in Baby :D
Bass is probably one of the most underrated parts of songs. You need those root notes somewhere.
every bass player thinks that but actually i think bass sounds best at lower volume because thats its job, its supposed to be the low end to a song.
@@nigelpisswater484 "Low end" relates to frequency, and not volume. Bass isn't supposed to be quiet.

David Amato - hehe... wait for it, waaaaaaawit for it....
I love how he just flicked the pick away. By the way, what bass is that its lovely

"Don't waste your time or time will waste you" damn that really struck me

I just bought a bass guitar, guess whose videos I looked up to practice some riffs? ;)
Mogenar The Legend27's
Ian Herdt but he keeps kicking my ass!
it was never even alive, it's been forced this whole time
Anna Sentina(?)
aw thanks for the support

I've not played this song in so long and this got me to playing it today! great job!
Do a cover of Rosetta Stoned by Tool!
How can we win? When fools can be kings?

Time is running out next, maybe? :D
That's quite a fun song
That's an easy song :) And very good ^-^
Hardest part of that song is getting it clean. Any notes slightly off and it ruins it.
Man, your tone is like, EXACTLY the same! Unreal...
Wow! That was some phenomenal playing.
Why do I love this cover more than the song?
This is the first song I fully learned on bass and surprisingly it wasn't that difficult thanks my dude for showing me the tabs

I personally prefer to use a three finger picked gallop rather than picking for this, but that's because I learnt it using Rocksmith
Same
but the rocksmith chart is also palm mutes though?
not the whole way through, and it's probably poor technique on my part but I mute with my frethand if i can
Also it's way cooler
Same here, I don't even know how to use a pick in playing bass :D

Lisa Rodriguez did you ever figure this out? I’m a beginner and I’m wondering the same
It looks like he's downpicking, which I can't do at that speed. lol
It's galloping on pick, basically up and down picking but imitating the galloping of a horse.
Down on the eighth note and down-up on the sixteenth notes. Basically down-down-up motion on the gallops
