      You not a bass player clearly 😂 because since the first time I heard this song all I heard was the bass it is what makes the song so bad ass. What makes you groove to it is the baseline no the guitar by the way I play both the bass by far my favorite

    • @kthemajestic
      @kthemajestic 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @joseflorian6621 what deems somebody "not a bassist", I play both guitar and bass and respectfully the bass fully compliments the guitar. Bass plays the last note of the guitar measure, or plays a rhythm practically identical to the guitar but then goes back to holding rhythm. I love a good lead bass line but this one is served as a support and compliment of the guitar through and through

    Have you got colour in your cheeks?
    Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift
    The type that sticks around like summat in your teeth?
    Are there some aces up your sleeve?
    Have you no idea that you're in deep?
    I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
    How many secrets can you keep?
    'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think
    Of you somehow and I play it on repeat
    Until I fall asleep
    Spilling drinks on my settee
    (Do I wanna know?)
    If this feeling flows both ways
    (Sad to see you go)
    Was sorta hoping that you'd stay
    (Baby we both know)
    That the nights were mainly made
    For saying things that you can't say
    Tomorrow day
    Crawling back to you
    Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?
    'Cause I always do
    Maybe I'm too busy being yours
    To fall for somebody new
    Now I've thought it through
    Crawling back to you
    So have you got the guts?
    Been wondering if your heart's still open
    And if so I wanna know what time it shuts
    Simmer down and pucker up
    I'm sorry to interrupt
    It's just I'm constantly on the cusp
    Of trying to kiss you
    I don't know if you feel the same as I do
    But we could be together if you wanted to
    (Do I wanna know?)
    If this feeling flows both ways
    (Sad to see you go)
    Was sorta hoping that you'd stay
    (Baby we both know)
    That the nights were mainly made
    For saying things that you can't say
    Tomorrow day
    Crawling back to you (crawling back to you)
    Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?
    (you've had a few)
    'Cause I always do ('cause I always do)
    Maybe I'm too (maybe I'm too busy)
    Busy being yours to fall for somebody new
    Now I've thought it through
    Crawling back to you
    (Do I wanna know?)
    If this feeling flows both ways
    (Sad to see you go)
    Was sorta hoping that you'd stay

    For saying things that you can't say
    Tomorrow day
    (Do I wanna know?)
    Too busy being yours to fall
    (Sad to see you go)
    Ever thought of calling down?
    (Do I wanna know?)
    Do you want me crawling back to you?

    This chart is rhythmically accurate but I’d write it in the key of G minor to make it easier to read (the notation). Even just using flats (Eb instead of D#, Bb instead of A#) would make it a lot more pleasant to read. Nice otherwise 👍

    • @Chapiebara
      @Chapiebara 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      My main tips are 1) Enjoy it bass becomes a lot easier if you enjoy it. 2) Use a pick if you’ve had past experience to start with if not use your fingers. 3) Final tip when playing a note play to the edge of it rather than the middle as it’s less pressure needed to hold it down.

    • @user-xw6uh3yp7g
      @user-xw6uh3yp7g 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Samspog that’s bad advice. If someone has previously played guitar they should play bass with fingers or else they will think of them as the same instrument and they’ll play the bass like a guitar.

    • @jammerboi8401
      @jammerboi8401 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The bass is easier to pick with fingers. And I only played guitar with a pick. But, that comes down to personal preference. I've just picked up the bass myself, honestly, I recommend focusing on scales and learning music theory. If you already know that, then learning songs and creating new stuff will come easy. I've learned some violin and some guitar, but bass is the first instrument I'm really wanting to dive into music theory with. It's a simple instrument that can be as easy, and as complicated as you want it to be. Perfect for learning music theory. But as the other guy said, enjoy it. If music theory just seems boring to you, learn songs. Since you are getting lessons you will learn the scales, and that's the most important part of my tips so... yea, just have fun.

    Hi! I’m new to bass, can anyone tell me what the 5\ means at 1:14? I know its a slide, but from fret 5 to 1 on the A string?? It doesn’t look like he goes to 1 though...

    • @Cubic1612
      @Cubic1612 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Hey! It doesn't particularly mean slide to 1. Just so long as you slide up from the 5th and end it around the area of 1, it'll sound right. Make sure you pay close attention to the speed of the slide as well

    At 4:01 what fret do you slide up from to the 10th fret? And what does the X symbol in between mean? Thanks

    • @noahddd
      @noahddd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need to slide up to fret 10 (from zero), back down, up to 10, then back down again.
      It should really like like this:
      /10\ /10\
      But I think the software he used to tab out the music overlapped the slides so it looks like an ‘x’

    • @Centr1s
      @Centr1s 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@noahddd so since zero means no fret, do I just let go at 1 since it'd be the closest sounding note?

    • @noahddd
      @noahddd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stanley Bao Yes exactly, if you’re sliding quick enough you may not even need to go the whole way down to the first fret as you often can’t really distinguish the difference when playing at speed

    This will sound a bit pedantic, but the tab should really show two flats in the key signature (as song is in Gm). This would make the notation slightly easier to read and align with music theory correctly.
