Hope you guys enjoy this one, long convo. Curious what your favorite stories were?? From Farley, to Better Call Saul, to growing up in the midwest... tons of good stuff in this one :)
BOB ODENKIRK!?!?!?!? I'm sub'd and bell'd and I wasn't notified of this, dropped everything I was doing and enjoyed this gem of an interview. Stay safe guys.
Michael, if you ever read this, I’m 42 now, used to be a huge Smallville fan, my girlfriend and I would buy the VHS box sets and eat them up with Buffy and Alias, a year late, being from France. Those were our favorite young adults shows. I’ve watched a lot of your interviews along the years, and I know you feel differently now, but I remember that after Smallville, a part of you was tired and maybe even hurt, to only be recognized or famous because of that show, despite how hard you worked and how many other projects you were involved in. I remember you looking sad, sometimes even upset about it. So please let me tell you this. I’m a diplomat now, traveled to 80 countries around the world, don’t really look like a nerd, more like a suit, but I am. I’ve been buying around 20 comics from all houses, every month since I was 13, and read every Superman story there has been for the past 30 years. Watched every movie, live action or animated. Every cartoon. Everything. And never, EVER, has there been a better Lex than yours. Maybe it sucked being mostly known for one role, but you’ve played one of the biggest comic villains of all time, and you were the best at it. Still are. No one will ever come close, I think. So when you feel down or think « Urgh, Smallville again... », know that some people out there who are huge comic book and cinema fans, and really know their shit, think you were one of the greatest villains of all time. Isn’t that better than being known for plenty of roles, each of them being so so? For many of us, as one of the biggest characters of the title that sold the most in comic book history, you’re untouchable. Not many actors can say that. Love from France.
I enjoyed all of it but hearing about Farley is always a treat for me you got to read that book the Chris Farley show if you want the deepest dive into his life I read it three times in a two week period yes it's that good
My favorite section was Bob's thoughts on fame. "They don't know me. They'll never know me." It perfectly expresses why I'll never understand people who desire popularity. It's lovely to hear that from an actor once in awhile. Bob seems like a smart, realistic guy who appreciates what he's earned, and that's refreshing.
I don't agree with this bit, how an actor behaves and treats his fans outside has an impact on their work. Christian Bale hates fame and cos he's a bit weird I love his work less. Same for Brandon Flowers, I love him because he is a good person, if he was horrible to fans I would never buy his music or follow him. Fame is always with you no matter the project and your fans are why you get the big bucks remember that!
@@Twod1980 I think you can want privacy and still be good to your fans as a celebrity. The problem is, people who are fans of something or someone feel entitled to their time. If I saw a famous person at a restaurant and wanted to approach them, I'd wait for them outside after they were done eating and say hey I'm sorry to bother you, I just want to let you know how much your work means to me, I appreciate you and what you do. If you want a picture or autograph, feel free to ask. But if they clearly are busy or just aren't having a good day, you gotta respect and accept them if they say I'm sorry, but I gotta get going. Famous or not, we're all human beings and we aren't owned by anyone or owe anyone anything other than polite/respectful interactions. But polite/respectful doesn't mean you get what you want either.
@@atticusstephenson2895 the point he was making was that people should have zero access to him irl and this can jeopardise popularity and get you less work...just saying
I’ve been listening to these for a little while now and I appreciate how honest and authentic everything feels. It’s helped realize that actors and all sorts of celebrities have the same problems and worries I do. Great podcast
I met Bob Odenkirk around 2010, while working at Trader Joe’s in LA bagging his groceries. I hadn’t seen breaking bad or Saul yet, but I was into Mr Show. He had his son with him, super cool guy. We discussed David Cross some, & growing up in Georgia where David is from. I’m now a super huge Breaking Bad fan and it blows my mind that I met him once.
This is one of your best interviews in my opinion, I personally liked the longer format sometimes with guests I feel it ends to quickly but the conversation between you two was excellent
"Everything that you do in front of people, involves that people" Fuck yeah!!!!!! I LOVED every part of this episode!!!!! Thank you so much I feel happier and more relax than I was earlier. You're doing an amazing job!!!
I could watch the two of you do this every day. Bob has done some great interviews and conversations, but this one is probably the best. Please have him back!

Very MUCH appreciated this conversation with Bobby O. Excellent podcast Michael. 🌱 My daughter is now adding Second City to her repertoire, 5+ years of ComedySportz still. Little gigs here and there...humble beginnings. I look forward to "her time" and all that, but it's the humble beginnings that are undoubtedly precious. (thought i'd share)
I just skip to the part where the guest is lol. I don't see why you gotta complain or close it obviously the dude listed as a guest is showing up sooner or later....
Just dropping a comment to say how much I appreciate Michael Rosenbaum & his podcast. I absolutely love the authenticity and deep life stuff that's discussed. Nothing better than getting together with people and talking about life! Thanks for the free therapy 🙌 and all the vulnerability, it makes me realize how Human we all are.. helps me think about things in a different light. Keep doing what you're doing, it's making a difference!

I'm pretty cynical myself, and also feel/react the same way when I'm around others who don't share my perspective. Great interview, Michael!
He also wasn't in it for unhealthy reasons. He just loved writing comedy since he was a kid, and as long as he was paying the bills and taking care of his family, he was good. He just wanted to be doing the work he loves.
The struggle of being naturally cynical while surrounded by optimists is so relatable. A boss once told me I was very cynical and I could only thank him.
I loved the chat about your dogs taking care of you. I'm not a dog person myself but one of our cats, when i was a teenager, would absolutely go around the house and round us all up for bed when it got too late. Didn't matter what crap you thought was important at midnight, she'd nag the crap out of you until you chilled out and went to bed. She was fantastic. I love it when she visits me in my dreams sometimes 😻
I'm dog centric but I've known a few cats who blew me away with how aware they were, and there are a few I'll never forget. Everyone should have a cat at some point; it's the only way to really know them while dogs tell you everything on the first date, lol.
I love these candid interviews. And the fact that you now added video makes them even better. I can no longer watch conventional network talk shows with interviews that are simply 10-minute fluff pieces. Anyhow, you’re doing a great job with this channel! And “Better Call Saul” has never been better. Thanks for the Bob Odenkirk interview. We both went to SIU. Go Salukis!!!
This is one of your best interviews in my opinion. Big fan of Bob Odenkirk since his Mr. Show days with Dave Cross. Awesome interview. Thanks for sharing.
This just started playing automatically after a short unrelated clip I was playing... and I love Bob. I find him so interesting to listen to. And I looked at the runtime and I was like... "two hours?? I'm in!!" Lmao. I'm currently half way through my second listen, back to back. Great interview man, thanks for doing what you do. I'll definitely check out more of your stuff in the future. (Loved Smallville, btw)
Most engaging conversation I have seen on a podcast in a long time. Please get Bob back, you guys are great together. This isn't just about wanting him back, but you and him really seem to have a mutual understanding and respect for one another that was cool to see. You both really opened up to one another about halfway through and from then on it was riveting. Honestly I think it was after you guys talked about your dogs that you really became in sync! Dogs are the greatest!!!!
This is the fifth interview of yours I've watched, but you just implored so hard this time, haha, that I went ahead and Subscribed. Great job! Bob is so wise! Much love.
I love how Michael comforts his guests to where they are instantly open. Maybe there’s a rapport built before hand, regardless, he’s a great interviewer. It’s like hearing hold friends talking to one another. I just found this TH-cam channel and have been binge watching for a few hours now.
I like all of your interviews but thought this one felt so natural and easy and could feel Bob open up more and more as the time progressed. However, that's not what had me looking for a place to write. I wanted to say that the fan letter you read at the end had me sobbing, and I wanted to send a little anon stranger love to the man who wrote. I don't know if this message will ever reach him, but I don't think telling his daughter about the baby was a mistake. Losing a child is part of their family story - not just the writer or his wife's. I wish much healing and love to all of them and I'm grateful to Michael for being there for them, for me and all of us.
Absolutely loved this interview, big fan of Bob Odenkirk and Better Call Saul, loved the Better Call Saul questions. You and Bob had great chemistry in this interview!
Rosey, please don't ever cut your intros and outros. I love them and I enjoy hearing/watching them every time. This was an amazing episode. I loved every part. Thank you for the amazing content every week. Keep doing what you are doing. Looking forward to next week's episode ❤️
@@InsideOfYouPodcast You are very welcome Michael. I'm happy, proud to support such an amazing podcast and person, but you already know that ^_^ Baum Squad for life ❤️
Thank you for those (almost) 2 hours. A new episode always makes my Tuesday after work relaxation time so much better. So many great stories and always a reminder that in the end we all are just humans that either do or don’t vibe with each other.
This conversation was unexpectedly human, and wholeheartedly relatable to all of us. We’re not actors, we have all different jobs but we can all relate to punching printers and not wanting to be alone. This was such a good podcast.
Found this channel after the most recent Tom Welling episode and I am so happy I found this and I have just been binge watching everything! Your views on life and mental health have constantly helped me and has made me feel good at times. I know commenting on this might seem weird 2 years later; I resonated with Bob's cynicism but resonated more with your view on all this confidence you gained at some point in life. I was always this worried and scared kid with anxiety, depression, and ADHD and someone gave me this confidence boost to go get a degree and become someone and I wouldn't let anything stop me, I got the degree and then worked for years and realized its not at all what I wanted. I was riding that confidence for so long I forgot to ask if I wanted to actually do this. unfortunately that confidence, like gas in a car, ran out and I've become this anxious "child" again. You keep walking trying to find a gas station and get a little gas (confidence) but on your way back to the car or to get more gas you realize the gas is gone or maybe it was just mud. I believe people can leave imprints on this world and imprints in this life and some are deeper than others and from learning more about you through this podcast and through life I think you're leaving a pretty decent sized imprint on this world and I think its only going to get bigger!
Man that trip Michael is talking about when he *knew* he was going to make it, it reminds me of when I was 21 and I enrolled into a 6-month training program that had a HUGE fail rate. I remember when I was filling out the paperwork they told me that 95% of people who filled out the same paperwork don't make it the 6 months, either because they can't take the pressure or they can't follow directions and keep up. I remember sitting there thinking "psssh, I got this, I'm gonna ace this like a bauss". Lo-and-behold, I finished the program with flying colors, accolades, the whole nine yards. I know exactly the feeling he's talking about, where you just feel like something isn't going to even be a thing, even though it actually is, but you are just so laser-focused practically to the point of oblivious naivete. It's like setting out to walk a tightrope that so many have fallen off of, and you just don't know how far down it is below so you're not even tripping or questioning your ability. You just feel so confident because you're so thoroughly committed in your heart.
Love your t-shirt Michael. It looks snug and comfy. Also, it is natural for you or anyone else to feel frustrated on account of the lockdown. I'm just glad you don't shy away from venting. Never hold it in. Express your feelings. You encourage countless other to become vocal. Thank you for yet another excellent episode.
Wonderful video you explain beautifully and in detail interview about Bob Odenkirk.you shared amazing information with us. thank you for this amazing video.
What a shame that the world will never get to know how hilarious that hot dog vendor trainee skit could have been. Amazing stories and great interview overall! Thanks again for keeping us all entertained during these crazy times!
I'm a HUGE Odenkirk fan, since the Ben Stiller Show!! It's been such a treat to see how his career has morphed over the years...such an UNEXPECTED treat! Realizing from the Ben Stiller Show I had also seen him earlier on SNL in bit roles when he was a writer there, to MR. SHOW (which to me is one of the ultimate trifecta of sketch comedy--Mr. Show, Monty Python, and Kids In The Hall)!! Mr. Show. Been raving about it since it first aired, and it's awesome that a whole new crowd of people are realizing how present Odenkirk has been as a comedy LEGEND, even though he's recently made a name as are dramatic actor. I can't tell you how it felt for an old fan like me to see him in the film "Nobody". Especially since I used to be in a band called "Nobody". Lol No joke...
So not only do I have Bob Odenkirk to thank for Matt Foley, he’s also the reason I was introduced to Harlan Williams?? I still remember that Conan stand-up fondly to this day.
I did not know Bob Odenkirk but his interview caught my attention, it is very entertaining. hearing about their lives, so naturally, was what caught my attention the most :)
Big fan of Bob Odenkirk, kudos getting him on the show. I have that same attitude that Jerry Seinfeld had that Bob described: of course I should be extremely special and successful! Someone has to be, right? Why not me! Problem is I'm completely inept at everything. It's a rare dual quality to be extremely ambitious and extremely stupid, and it ain't fun having the world kicking your ass every day. And I'm nearly 40 and STILL think this way! ha! But thaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's my life!
This was great! Bob hanging out for two hours? I watched this and then listened tot he Better Call Saul Insider Podcast, so it was striking that both talked about the negative effect in the business of not being able to rest, and working too long without it, and how they improved after Breaking Bad and BCS's early Season 1, and how not feeling like one can speak up traps people! I hope Season 6 allows for a smidge more breathing room.
Authentic , genuine , relaxing , funny , informative , inspiring and in my opinion one of the best podcast keep it going brother doing a phenomenal job
Bob we love you! Not just the projects. I'll watch anything bc you're in it. Yes the Saul/Jimmy and Mr show is apart of that but you are a fantastic actor.
That’s true! I like his projects but also himself. That’s the reason why I watch lots of interviews with him. I want to know about how he is in ‘real life’ and not just how he is in a certain role as an actor. He’s so sympathetic and authentic, I would also watch everything he does, even if that means reading a phone book aloud for hours.
Such a great episode! I could listen to you talk all day; such great, insightful conversations. Also, sorry about your grandfather. 😢 Love watching you on Smallville again with my teens now. 😊
Mikey the editing, the clips on IG, all the stylistic accoutrements are costing money but they're so worth it in making your show stand out on TH-cam! Just keep on keeping on!! One request would be more interviews with older accomplished people because your interview with Jimmy Connors is legendary! The respect and admiration really makes for great watching even though I'd never heard of him before!
I can’t understand why anyone would come on here and complain about the podcast. Its a TV quality talk show brought to us for free and a damn great interview as well. To the people complaining about the intro or the host talking about themselves...it’s a podcast. Human interaction and the hosts perspective is what makes it unique. You wouldn’t tune in to letterman and skip right to the interviews, you get the whole experience. Great job Rosey! This was a very honest and unpretentious interview. Keep it up!
Out of context his statement could be taken wrong. "If you won't work I can hit you". lol His son or daughter better get a job when they are old enough.
thank you for sharing .. this is a really informative and helpful video, explaining the issues of Bob Odenkirk Interview that helped me to understand it correctly.
I live in Kokomo, Indiana, 45 minutes north of Indy. So cool to know an Odenkirk lives there, as well as Rosenbaum growing up here too! Never knew that!! I go to Indy all the time! Been to Bloomington many times as well, and it's really nice too! Awesome to know Bob knows the state somewhat, and Michael even better! :)
I love the part where Bob stated about people on their cell phones talking too loud that you can hear the conversation. I agree with him about including yourself in the conversation cause if they don't want you to listen then they should not broadcast it.
I love that you get people who usually only gets to answer the same questions over and over again on some junket to actually dive deep. I'm in a bad place with no real medical solution to ever get better so hearing people who seems to have it all figured out struggling is comforting. I don't want bad things to happen to them of course, but at least I know before my body givs up completely that I'm not the completely alone. As for the intro. Give the auidience and algorithm some time. Even Rogan didn't become the giant he's now until roughly 2015 and he had been doing it for years. One thing that will also help are a couple of 5-10 minute clips for every episode. Even though I listen to 20 different podcasts all the time, sometimes I'm just not feeling like I want to listen to an episode. I see a clip to give it a shot and end up listening to the entire thing before binging every podcast that guest has been on.
I liked this podcast a lot since I was so interested in it to the point that I completely immersed myself and didn't miss every second !! without a doubt a very good one, I love you !!
I have seen a lot of videos but this video is the best out of all those videos. Its give best informations. I really liked this video. Thanks for sharing this video and keep it sharing like this informative videos in the future.

This is really very useful interview with Bob odenkirk. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
A handy review for everyone. I can watch this again and again. Thank you Michael!
SO glad these are back up and running. I was very sad when the video podcasts disappeared for a while there. Some hidden gems.

I'm happy, proud to support such an amazing podcast and person, but you already know that ^_^ Baum Squad for life ❤️

awesome. thanks so much. rosenbaum.. pease subscribe and listen to others.
Fellow Indiana person here 👋🏻 great podcast. I think conversing with mr odenkirk would be a real treat.
Thank you for those (almost) 2 hours. A new episode always makes my Tuesday after work relaxation time so much better. So many great stories and always a reminder that in the end we all are just humans that either do or don’t vibe with each other.
long one. couldnt cut this one short. too good. thanks pal
Detailed review....thank you guys for your informational speech.....really useful for me....thanks for sharing.
This conversation was unexpectedly human, and wholeheartedly relatable to all of us. We’re not actors, we have all different jobs but we can all relate to punching printers and not wanting to be alone.
This was such a good podcast.
Great podcast, Michael, you certainly know how to put a guest in the right mood. Odenkirk is a fascinating guy
Thank you - I appreciate that! Bob is truly fascinating!
Can’t wait to listen to this after class!! As always, love your podcasts!
Hope you enjoy it!

@@insideofyoupodcast2510 you're pathetic.
You have amazing guests but this time you've outdone yourself. Better Call Saul is my 10/10 tv show benchmark.
Thank you for yet another excellent episode.
you rule
Be a little less thirsty.
Raj! appreciate it pal. the hot dog vendor skit is amazing haha
I'm a surprised that you have invited him, the interview was so nice and fun, i enjoyed it a lot!
Please watch Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul!
Wow that is really Amazing, I love this and thank you so much for uploading this very very helpful video
"rare dual quality to be extremely ambitious and extremely stupid" 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for putting these out on Video!
So glad you like the videos!
Great information ...!
You have described it perfectly ....
Thank you !!
perfect explanation. Thanks for this great help.
This was a great episode
glad you thought so too :)
the Chris Farley stuff was strong
Really enjoyed the whole interview session with Bob Odenkirkz So happy to see this video.

I'm a fan of Bob Odenkirk, so I really enjoyed this interview.
Thank you very much for sharing video about 'Bob Odenkirk Interview'..
Glad you enjoyed it!
Bob we love you! Not just the projects. I'll watch anything bc you're in it. Yes the Saul/Jimmy and Mr show is apart of that but you are a fantastic actor.
sure he would appreciate that buddy :)
Thank you so much! Very happy to have you and your family as listeners and viewers.

Highly appreciated Bob Odenkirk Interview.excellent video presentation..
Thank you kindly
Mikey the editing, the clips on IG, all the stylistic accoutrements are costing money but they're so worth it in making your show stand out on TH-cam! Just keep on keeping on!! One request would be more interviews with older accomplished people because your interview with Jimmy Connors is legendary! The respect and admiration really makes for great watching even though I'd never heard of him before!
Thank you! Appreciate you listening in and the feedback.
Thank you! Appreciate you listening in and the feedback.
Keep it up!
I learned a lot with all yout tips and i actually agree with a lot of things you share, thanks.Your content was amazing ! helped me so much!
Thank you so much! Thank you for tuning in.

I SOOO relate to the printer story - Can't stop laughing!!
😂😂😂
Out of context his statement could be taken wrong. "If you won't work I can hit you". lol His son or daughter better get a job when they are old enough.

thank you for sharing .. this is a really informative and helpful video, explaining the issues of Bob Odenkirk Interview that helped me to understand it correctly.
Loved this episode. And your intros and outros are not boring! Love it all. ❤

OMG I love Bob Odenkirk! I clicked on the video as soon as I saw his name and was not disappointed, excellent interview!

Glad you enjoyed it!
excellent interview with bob odenkirk, good topic "perfect amount of fame" i enjoyed it ... thanks
wow thanks. keep listening to other will ya? love, rosey.
it’s nice to listen this podcast when Bob and Michael are so down to earth
I live in Kokomo, Indiana, 45 minutes north of Indy. So cool to know an Odenkirk lives there, as well as Rosenbaum growing up here too! Never knew that!! I go to Indy all the time! Been to Bloomington many times as well, and it's really nice too! Awesome to know Bob knows the state somewhat, and Michael even better! :)
Awesome interview with two of my FAVORITE celebs!!!! Beyond thrilled to be able to WATCH Inside of you interviews again!

This is *GREAT!*
*”She’s cynical!”*- Bob Odenkirk on Meryl Streep
5:15 Bob is a minimalist
The opposite of Saul who said it never blew his mind
Awesome video interview. Thanks a lot!

Hey Rosey thanks for another great episode, Ryan’s editing was smooth as hell (as usual). Loved hearing you and bob connect over the colour blindness.
