    Get a first look at AMC’s hotly anticipated new drama, "Better Call Saul," the prequel to the award-winning series "Breaking Bad." Set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) meets Walter White, the man who will become Saul is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Better Call Saul will track Jimmy’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal attorney.” Catch the star of the new series when he takes our stage with Jonathan Banks (beloved “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut) and Oscar nominee Michael McKean, who plays Saul’s brother, Chuck. Hey, got a lawsuit in mind? Well, your guy is back.

    I kept seeing the thumbnail “Better Call Saul” on Netflix and thinking “Well, I will eventually try it, but I'm not sure I'm in for another Breaking Bad-type experience”. Then I finally decided to just watch the first, and I got stunned by how this show is really its own entity, has its own vibe and feel. It relates to BB but is completely independent from it. Made me admire the creators' openness to make a show have its own life and go its own way. They really listen to the characters and the actors, and they just discern where the thing is supposed to go, instead of projecting a big plan all upfront. A wonderful way of creating a show that has a LIFE.

      It's enough like breaking bad for fans of that show to enjoy it but it has enough personality to be its own show. Also BCS assumes you've already seen Breaking Bad and uses the inevitability to its advantage

    I binge watched five seasons of BCS in two and a half weeks, and the progression of the characters and the growing darkness was superbly handled. I'm on my fourth viewing of the entire series of Breaking Bad and, while its impact has probably diminished because of that, I found BCS began to possibly reach even greater heights during its best episodes. It's debatable. BB is probably more consistant, but shorn of some annoying BB characters BCS had practically zero scenes I wanted to skip.

    The actor Banks is talking about at 56:00 is Danny Trejo who also was on Breaking Bad oddly enough.

      I'm watching this video for the first time in November 2018, getting to that portion, after a couple minutes of research I deduced it was mostly like Danny Trejo, and I was about to come down here and make a comment on it. I should've known especially for a video that's 3 years old, that already would've been done lol

    6:58 Bursted out laughing at this. Jonathan Banks is a comedic genius, and the contrast with Mike, one if not the most serious character in BCS and BB, makes every of his jokes even funnier.

    I know exactly what Bob meant regarding Kim and Jimmy’s relationship in that “we’re just great together, but should this go further?” I have been there in my own personal life, just like Bob. When I was younger and dumber, I chose to go further, and started a romantic relationship then married my best friend, who I had know since I was 13. I will always love him, but sadly, after 10 yrs. we divorced. We were always much better as friends, and should have never gone further, it wasn’t what was right for the two of us. We were die hard Breaking Bad fans. We used to love to watch it together. Oddly enough, he physically looks A LOT lIke Aaron Paul (AKA Jesse); maybe that’s one small reason why Jesse will always be my favorite character. But career and ethics wise he’s more in line with Hank 🤣🤣. I love Better Call, and I miss Breaking; and I miss getting to watch it with my ex. But because of the marriage, I lost him as my friend, and we are not in each other’s lives at all now. And I miss him, even as I write this, I miss that bond we had. I have such a longing for that close friendship we once had, that it continues to break my heart, and if I could go back and change it I would. He was the love of my life, but not as my husband: he was the FRIENDSHIP love of my life. It’s not always good to go further with a friend. Sometimes you really have to protect that friendship and not take it to the next level, because once changed, it can never go back to what it was before. Changing the relationship can destroy everything you loved about being with each other in the first place 😢

    Jesse was 25 in BrBa in BCS he is 18 or 19 in 2002, so Jesse's a high school senior, not a middle school kid, so Yes Aaron Paul could reprise his role.

    • @usselpasoable
      @usselpasoable 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +roamer45 I can tell you that Aaron Paul will be in the second season of BCS, which means Walter is probably in it as well. I was watching a BB fan tour video shot a few months ago and you see the film crew at Pinkman's house. Also this guy said the 'dog house" was being used for filming. So unless they are shooting for the 3rd season it's almost a guarantee we'll see Jesse this season. only a few people on TH-cam saw this video. not even the press knows this.
