So I thought we should put the virus under the microscope and learn all the things about it that may have slipped past the fandom. Jill was immune to normal forms but the Nemisis’s have a alternate strain used to infect those normally immune
I personally believe with the whole time it takes for the virus to take over thing, that not only would it come down to differences in the strain, but also the individual. Weight, height, age, sex, physical and mental fitness would all play a huge part in how long it'd take to effect.

I'm willing to deal with the wide variation of infection times as differences in individual's physical health, both overall and how tired or stressed they have been in the last 24 hours, the variety of viruses they've already built an immunity to, and also their genetic strengths and weaknesses. Maybe an iron deficiency means you've only got 30 minutes? It's easy enough to come up with something. It's flexible as long as it isn't instant or months later.

If a zombie virus like the T-virus actually did exist, it would quickly be wiped out. Because of muscle and tissue degeneration in most zombies they would eventually lose mobility thus making it easier to contain a slow horde of zombies and they be classed as slow moving corpses. Lickers on the other hand are something else. The Chimaera's to me are the most disturbing as Umbrella most likely kidnapped women to impregnate them only for the mutant to likely rip them from the inside during birth.

Biohazard Declassified mentioned that Progenitor could be millions or even billions years old.
I know it's fictional plant and all that, but oldest land plant ever discovered was "only" 420 million years old.
If Progenitor was billions years old it would basically be first multicellular organism which is impossible due to Earth's biological history.
Again, I'm aware it's all fiction and developers don't that far in authenticity,but I'd say millions years sounds completely plausible.

An interesting fact about Jill's immunity from a file in RE5: Jill's vaccine didn't destroy the T-Virus in her body, it put it into a dormant state for 8 years, this gave her body enough time to develop an immune system that can instantly destroy it. After the battle with Wesker at the Spencer estate, she was taken and put into stasis for research, that's when she was discovered to have the dormant virus which then reactivated but disappeared almost immediately thanks to her T-Virus antibodies.
I also wonder about the T-abyss virus she inoculated herself with. Since Revelations takes place before RE5, I wonder what became of that. Also it’s crazy we haven’t seen Jill since RE5 (not counting RE 3 remake)
To think that the fact Resident Evil T-Virus adheres to real world Biology and Virology rules is astounding

More or less. An infection leading to outright DNA mutations that cause immediate changes is really from left field. Even radiation damage to cells takes longer than some RE mutations to manifest.
Kinda wonder if some of the team behind the various tellings of different parts of the RE story didn't do at least some light reading behind the subject?

Incase you needed more reasons to have trouble sleeping at night, that means now that Resident Evil and the Last of Us are both *world ending catastrophes that are disturbingly possible in real life, more so the latter because the Cordyceps *fungal spore already exists and works on insects and is very possible to mutate to affecting mammals someday .
@Jesse Forsblade okay that is a good point, still their two really big world ending type things from video games that are uncomfortably something that could happen, thats worth taking notice ^^;

The cordyceps fungi is more likely to happen in real life than the T virus, cause it already exists but the T virus is a viral strain that allows mutations in living things, something that’s far too impossible

Goddamn, I would have never guessed that a fictional Virus could have so much trivia behind it but, it was nice to see some more sweet sweet Outbreak love. Would be cool to see other videos on other viruses like G-Virus, Las Plagas, Uroboros etc but, I wonder if there would be enough for a good vid.
I agree. Something like show a virus and all the monsters created by it, then the next virus or organism, all the way down the list to the Megamycete. Though I think I'm asking for WAY too much all at once.
Only the G-Virus and maaaaaybe the T-Veronica virus are interesting enough for full videos IMO, simply because they have more lore behind them and are the most fleshed out. The G-Virus is also linked to Lisa Trevor and the development of the Nemesis parasite, so it has the most things to talk about.
honestly Outbreak answered your part 11. Everyone's DNA handles the virus differently. I'm pretty sure there is other bits in the games other than Outbreak that confirm it as well. For example Chris & Barry seem nearly immune to the virus while Jill & Rebecca needed treatment after heavy infection. lol you even kinda answered yourself with part 6

I actually think that Jill dose have a resistance at least because in the remake one of her files mentions her being bitten but not changing so it’s likely that when Nemesis infected her it was a stronger strain possibly connected to the parasite.
As a longtime subscriber, I always love your 50-fact series. Of all the bioweapons made with the T virus, hunters are always my favorite, since they can behead our protagonist with a single strike. Keep it up, you deserve far more subscribers.😁😁😁

They are classified as zombie dogs, due to secondary infection of the T-Virus and coincidentally Police Chief, Brian Irons decided to make the Doberman Pinscher the specific breed of the RPD’s K-9 unit. Ironically this is also the same dog breed that the Arklay lab scientists decided to go with for the Cerberus project. 🤷🏻♂️

11:50 with viruses it's always a wild ride. Insects have quite a bit of "zombifying" viruses and parasites, there are also human parasites that can change our behavior quite easily...
So THAT'S why I could never play zombified in Outbreak. I've actually never played it online before. I didn't know you had to be online.

Lucky for us, COVID wasn't a super virus at all, so not being ready wasn't a problem.
Um lickers were not manufactured or created. They are a later stage of a zombie. Zombie-crimson head- regal licker- licker- super licker.

According to Caliban Cove the incubation and Zombification period of the T-virus strain in the Spencer Mansion can be up to a week, with first symptoms within a couple of days. As far as the Modified strain in Caliban cove from a little over an hour and a perfected strain at 10 minutes. Apparently the books are canon but in their specific universe? But it's still the T-virus so I guess that can serve as the time period?

I still can't beleive it that i was infected by a virus, yet i thought it could happen in movies or games like Resident Evil. My dad had the worst of all and he's alright and all. Still won't forget of how we made it. But, disappointed that no zombie exits. Shame...
The idea of the Progenitor virus being in a plant reminds me of the novel Relic.
I took a group of students on a virology course as one of the chaperones when I worked at a university (I didn't teach virology, or even medicine, but they needed lecturers from any school to volunteer just to keep tabs on the students, so I went for it). We went to a medical lab in London and were shown around the areas that were safe for visitors to be in and told about how they store virus samples as part of the tour. They do not screw around lol they don't show visitors live samples of the viruses, let alone let them handle them XD The closest we were allowed to get was being shown the entrance to the decontamination area you'd need to go through to even get into the wing of the building where they kept things like that. Even if you were an employee, there is no way you could just stroll in there, steal a sample of a virus and let it loose like in the movies, and even if you somehow did, the lockdown procedures are tight as hell. If there was even a *suspicion* that a virus sample had been removed from containment without strict authorization, the whole place would be locked down in seconds. That's even discounting the fact that none of the viruses they have samples of do much more than just kill the person infected slowly XD

Nemesis is a human tyrant who was infected with the T virus and the NE-a parasite that allows him to become more intelligent than the other Tyrants giving him the ability to follow orders

Thought crimson heads got their name from the bloodbath created by the first one, before they locked him in a casket in the graveyard along with a piece needed to unlock the door between the mansion and the residence.
