While I agree that the ESL version is great, I’ve always preferred this rendition myself. Alex’s solos just crush on this version. Plus he nails that pinch harmonic at the of Monsters! section so perfectly.
@@Cash2112 It’s Alex’s tone to choose and he was pursuing that thinner tone on purpose at the time. He called it “Lerxstone” at the time. He wrote about it specifically in the HYF tour book.

John Rutsy was on the drum kit for this 1st album but was replace by Neil for the the subsequent tour that followed. The rest is history!🚀🚀🚀.
The false "good night" is a regular feature of Rush shows. They'd "finish", leave the stage, let us scream and clap for a few minutes, then come back out and do another 15 minutes or so.

The set list is AMAZING and almost 3 hours long and each song is played to it's very best. I've seen Rush 21 times live and this is it!!!!! It would be fun to see you react to it but I know it's a bit long for a video...Maybe in a live stream ?

I think the thinness is more attributable to the Jackson single coils , not the double humbuckers Alex usually serves up.

This show was great! The synth era is great! Would love to see you do something from Test For Echo, maybe the title track, Time & Motion, or Limbo.
