I spent 3 days crying and being extremely sad and stressed about certain aspects of my life. I wouldn’t credit PMS for all of it but it definitely made it worse
He nailed it when he said you cannot generalise behaviours and narrow it down to one thing. Imagine if you're in excruciating pain and the people around you expect your to be happy and chirpy and your productive best... same thing. Also, when men have stress and need that space and if any women keep expectations on those men to behave in certain ways, people will say the women are nagging. But if women are dealing with period pain and everything that comes with it and hence not living up to the expectations people have of their behaviours---she's PMSing and every time she's a little annoyed or grumpy, she's 'PMSing'. Maybe stop nagging HER and give HER space.
For me, I don't experience as much mental symptoms as physical ones. I remember getting extreme cramps, so much that I couldn't turn around in my bed, sweating profusely, bp getting extremely low with cold feet. Emotionally I'd get very sentimental at random things lmao but it was so so. I'd been on medications since the past two years but the physical symptoms have only reduced by a bit, sonography gives absolutely no evidence of any deformity. It's just sad that some women out there face so much worse and still can't avail for better medical help. And then here we have society saying "😀why you gotta overreact man" Update : I was having extremely bad cramps last year, so much that I started throwing up due to the pain. Most of the doctors said "it happens, some people just have low pain tolerance" etc etc I finally went to a doctor who's very very renowned. The reports said I may develop ovarian cancer if not taken care of. Got treated for 5-6 months and I'm happy and healthy now. Moral - The hypocrisy concerning male and female medical studies and treatments is real
When my periods are around the corner , I constantly feel like crying. It has often happened with me that I broke down publically. People think that I'm an attention seeker and that I'm shedding crocodile tears which is not the case. That's why, I try to control myself and have less interaction with others bcoz the slightest negative remark could make me cry.
It's different for everyone, in my case...i do not feel periods at all except the bleeding. My days are quite like the normal ones, i also don't avoid workout (gym and running) in periods. On the other hand my sister have bad cramps, and she can barely get off bed for the 1st three days.
@@kiku_to_herself I prefer you healthy balance deit, drink more amount of water and exercise everything will go fine . Just start with habit of drinking water
@@annapurna0009 ya....it's really help so much...Whether I stated this habit in running period....or before the time or after the time...it's just instantly help u...I also do
The PMS starts from 2 weeks to 10 days before periods and then stays during the period week. That will be 3 weeks out of 4 weeks in a month. So women are totally healthy just 1 week of the month. Also, these symptoms are very extreme sometimes. There are issues like PCOD where the depression is so extreme that you get suicudal. Imagine it just happens bcz of estrogen and progesterone imbalance. There's no actual thing happening out there in the world, juat your hormones that cause you to cry buckets of water. And then you get fine as soon as it gets over. This problem is just so severe, but unfortunately, not enough is talked about it. So forget about people around them, but the women themselves are not aware of what is happening to them, and they blame it on any external stimulous.
If PMS starts 2 weeks prior to menstrual cycle then they’re considered as PMDD ( a more severe form of PMS) PMS generally starts 7-5 days before menstrual cycle but yes they suck and it’s like a switch that turns on and your world is upside down you only live half of your month normally
Every word is so true for pcod....n i go through it almost everyday....everyday i cry over silly things for no reason....feels like hell whats happening to me...so much tension...so much mood swings....so depressing n negative thoughts....cannot express...please anyone dealing with it help me how can i get out of it🤕😔
Very accurate information. It's not sugarcoated. Yes, for some women it's hormonal for some it's not. The other thing he mentioned is also true regarding the living situation of women. What women living in city maybe completely different than the one living in rural regions or adivasi region.
As a girl i too experience so much pain but rarely. It just so irritating to feel wetness and light cramp around that area and that reflects in my mood. But some girls do face horrible pain during periods. So I feel lucky sometimes.☺️
we men needs more awareness videos like these so we can fully understand and help our ladies in family and make things easy for them ❤️ who fight against such painful biological process and most of the time they don’t even let anyone know in family and fighting this battle alone, they should not be alone in this at all. we men need to step up and break stereotypes please 🙏🏻❤️
My periods are extremely painful. extremely. I can't explain in words. In the first day when it starts bleeding it starts paining. And it continues for 4-5 hours(if I take painkillers) or it will continue to pain for a day. My lower abdomen pains, my groin pains, my feet pains as well. I sometimes throw up. It pains so much that I lose half of my senses. I cry and scream. I feel like I will no more be alive. I can't do any of the activities even I can't lie down because nothing's decreases the intensity of the pain. It's next to horrible.
You should get yourself checked up. Period cramps definitely hurt and they are uncomfortable. But usually with painkillers, cramps are absolutely manageable. But when cramps are this painful, as is in your condition, to the extent that you are unable to perform your normal day-to-day activities, then you need to see your doctor. Could be endometriosis. My sister suffered from extremely painful periods because of her endometriosis. But there could be a host of other factors that are causing your periods to be as painful as you describe. So please do visit a doctor and get yourself examined.
@@MsReg10 Thank you for your concern. The extreme pain occurs only on the first day. The other 3 days are manageable but the start is intolerable. I've PCOD may be because of that I suffer so much. I'll surely get myself checked up very soon.
@@sudiptabandyopadhyay6754 PCOD periods are generally painless. Consult a gynaecologist ASAP. I’m not calling it a life threatening situation but why suffer for even a day when there’s s help available? Just something small like changing your painkiller can completely change your life for the better.
The effects of periods surely varies among women . But all women face a worse phase every month during their periods. The way may be different, but the suffering is real .
So true !! As a doctor and female i completely agree with Dr. Sid warrier. Thanks for explaining and reaching out this message to young guys who are in the impressionable age ❤️
Well said..the generalization is a problem. We will not know, until we don't talk/discuss enough about it. Talk to whoever you are close/comfortable with, inorder to be better informed , because only then we will understand better, perhaps be more caring, attentive, mindful, empathetic, and resourceful towards our mom/ sister/ girlfriend/wife/ daughter. Being shy or dismissive about it is not gonna help any of the genders. Let's leave a better environment for future generations. Be the change.
Dealing with PMS is funny , scary n frustrating. Personally for me... usually my mood swings starts from 1 week to 10 days before my periods. And I cry for very silly things n I get angry on lill things.. oh my god.. but it's okay we girls are so strong that we can deal with worse!
I literally respect women a lot and i really hats off to them becoz they suffer such things at a regular interval but then too they are much focused for their goals and do hardwork. I appreciate them becoz i dont experience such things then also i can't beat them in consistency and hardwork. I know it is very inappropriate reason but honestly this what i think.
In simple terms - its different for every girl. For some the physical symptoms rear their worse head and for others mental ones occupy the first seat. For me,its a combination of both. I get depression and bad migraine during my periods and pms
I created a video on pmdd . It’s the extreme form of even pms and about 1000 times for than the usual pms symptoms, it affects the ability to have a normal routine a week prior your cycle . It’s the mental symptoms - almost like hitting a depression every single month and feeling normal as soon as periods start . I’ve created a video on it and have personally gone through it from the past 15 years now . There’s no medicine for this as such , even being diagnosed for pmdd is a victory in itself . The patient here feels abnormally crazy and lack of acceptance and diagnosis for the same just makes it worse . Meditation has helped me to an extent but it’s still a a life Altering condition.
Thank God a man said and understood this. Otherwise I was thinking , there is no one who will understand my state of mind. I m saving the video. Some times , you only need some body to address your concern.
I'm on my periods right now & the only time I get off my bed is when I have to pee. Even though I have my exams in few days. It's just worst both physically and mentally.
Oh damn , can feel your pain , maybe a water bag and a soft pillow can help you ease your pain a little , you can take painkillers too , and apply a good amount of balm over the painful areas of the abdomen , you can do it friend, stay strong & all the best for your exams!
@@cosmoverse.4850 Nothing ever helps. I've hypothyroidism and it's always been like this. Taking medication is no good either. But thanks for your concern though!
Periods or Menstruation is attached with women's body . So, it surely affects the physical condition. But the levels are different . Mental changes are also quite common. But it's not hormonal in all the cases . Environmental issues and social taboos are extra problems for many women during periods.
It sucks when you're on your period and your exams are approaching. I literally had to end my 1.5 hr online exam within 30 mins because I couldn't take the pain anymore. I failed big time.
I got my periods on a math pre board and managed to get 90/100 but I remember at the end of the exam my uniform was stained and I had to run to the nearby washroom
Started getting periods at the age 12 and now I am 18 the mood swings , the tiredness or the lack of interest or the feeling of death for the first 2 days of period is realll
We need to normalise talking about periods it is something which happens with every girl so what's wrong in it and hats of to ranveer for doing that it is important to break this taboo because even if a girl is really in pain she can't even tell it to any one . Thats great that people are using social media to break taboos and to spread knowledge. And hats of to men to spread awareness on women's behalf he is a real genius
Well the thing is, periods affect different women in different ways, the symptoms vary. Infact over the 20 years that I have been menstruating, my own symptoms have changed over the years, from severe drying of lips, to debilitating headaches, to unreasonably intense emotions. Basically anything goes. And usually my symptoms start one or two days before periods, however once i get the actual periods I feel like my normal self, its only a day or two before periods and a day or two after, that i become a whole different person. Infact close to my cycle 2 months ago, I sat down and cried for half an hour because there was a rainbow in the sky.. that was the reason!
Everyone can have mood swings. whenever there are hormonal changes in the brain and our body we experience mood swings. If I talk about myself in November 2021 I start having extreme mood swings, I got depressed then my psychiatrist told me that my Serotonin levels became very low. Serotonin is a hormone which is mood stabiliser. If it's level drops you get mood swings, depression, anxiety....I mean you will feel like hell. Hell is a light word to describe this for me. I can't express my experience in words.
Everyone can have hormonal problems but women experience it every month. EVERY MONTH. it starts 3 weeks before periods, and stays for the week of period. So essentially a woman is in the best of health only 1 week out of 4 weeks in a month. And thats every month. Now Get a perspective.
True. I dont get mood swings, or get period pain. I am able to go through the day without much trouble. I think general health of women affects it too. Most women arent eating well either due to poverty or to maintain figure in well off families. And most dont exercise. Its equally important for women to be physically strong.
It's my 3rd day of periods , honestly I don't have that bad cramps generally ,most of the time during my periods I have little fever and leg pain but it depends sometimes it gets worse , last month the cramps took me to the hospital at 11pm 😅 and was suggested for bed rest for whole 3 days 😅🙃
Although I haven’t found a love of my life….atleast this makes me feel how to care for women and I could understand my Mother’s pain whenever during her periods she would throw some tantrum…… Hats off to Women and sending them all the strength.
I get emotionally vulnerable before my periods. I cry alot and stress about things that happens around me. I crave for Ice creams and choclates. If am emotionally down that means my periods are arriving. Hot chocolate helps me get rid of the anxiety and emotional swings. I use to think am I pmssing?? Why am I becoming this weak? after ages i understood that PMS is soo true. Your hormones definitely make your body something. Surprisingly after my periods I am super active and happy. All my worries are gone. I'll be back to my normal zone.
I just came to know about this last year through my girlfriend and it is a time where they are required to be taken care of and she actually had pms and it is exactly the way he explained .
PMS is altogether a horrible thing to experience. you want to cry, and you do feel miserable...adding the pain, bloating, body ache. it's great that men are interested to know what's going on in the female body. It's extremely important to know this so that they can treat their women and the women around them in a better way.
Mine was so painful that I’ve fallen out of bed from the cramps. Everyone (including my NURSE step-mother) mocked the pain. It’s “just something you have to go through”. I have known I’m childfree since I was 7. At 34 I was done with the pain, the heavy flow, etc. When I found out I had adenomyosis I was done. I literally bullied my gyn to send me for surgery. I have never been happier than the morning I woke up without a uterus! Now doctors don’t know what to do with me because the first 3 pages of their standard patter no longer apply to me.
No offence but this doctor is undermining a very difficult period in a women's life and it's effect on her. Women whose life is being terribly altered due to the menstrual cycle might agree with me. Living with endometriosis has been so tough on me since my teens and I still suffer the same at the age of 36. So, now you can understand how a difficult cycle can not only alter a women's mood but also her quality of life. And above all this if someone comes and tell me that I am being moody then god only save him/her from me. P.s.- Not only endometriosis but conditions like pcos or fibroids also exist and this doctor did not even acknowledge that these things also sometimes accompany women in their menstrual journey and its effects on her health and lifestyle.
I don't think that he was undermining the "being hormonal" part. When women are emotional about something, the people of the opposite gender tend to shut her down by saying "stop pmsing", or they even say "you are being hormonal", basically to undermine what we are feeling. So he was just coming to our defense by stating that "generalising" that all women "are hormonal" can create a wrong notion.
I mean there's going to be some level of mansplaining. Him being a doctor won't take away from this fact. You have a good point- he could have definitely take the perhaps 1 max it would take to describe how different reproductive issues would influence this. A good opportunity for teaching wasted.
I have HORRIBLE pains sometimes and sometimes no pain at all, sometimes a LOT of flow, sometime it would wrap up in 2 days. I hate it but if i miss them, i go into panic mode. 😭
I don't want to feel low I don't wanna curled up in my bed for hours I don't wanna cry I don't wanna loose my appetite I don't want depressing thoughts and heavy emotions I don't want my mood to affect my daily routine I don't want to live in pain .. RELAX ! I'm not in DEPRESSION , it's just my PERIODS!
I am having very bad cramps and feeling extremely sad and i felt crying more this time i actually want to stay all alone dont want to talk anyone but thus is impossible you have to talk you have to be nice with everyone otherwose it could get worse People will say why are you overreacting or why are you crying withour anything and it will impact negative so you have to smile or just be nice
A woman goes through harmonal changes throughout the month and that's why she has periods. The changes in levels of estrogen, progesterone etc. Imagine you are internally changing everyday. How that's gonna affect your mental, physical state. Some days are super productive, some day you just wanna punch everyone in the face, and some day you just wanna do nothing. And that cycle goes on every month throughout the year.
oh yes there's not only PMS but also PMDD, which doesn't only make you all the things PMS do but also makes you stressed easily, Anxious, Depressed, sometimes suicidal. I know cause I have it. Just be kind, that's all it takes to make things better. We all contribute strongly to this reality, therefore, all is Worthy.
Am I really the only girl who actually gets emotionally NUMB when I’m on my period? I get way too exhausted and tired to feel any emotions at all. It’s like my physical energy, mental energy, AND emotional energy just drains from me instead of my mood going haywire. I can’t be the only girl who gets like this.
It’s so true. Every women’s experience is different. I didn’t have lot of mood swings until recently. One day on my period i cried like crazy and i dont know why. I cried hard. Never happened that to me before. Even to a person, this period could be different from last one.
I'm not getting periods it's been 45 days , I'm just 23 and I have irregular periods. This makes me feel so heavy from inside , I m crying whole day without any reason and I have exams after 3 days it's so much affecting me with a fear that how will I seat in the exam hall with terrible cramps .
Thank you for this! More men AND women should talk about menstruation openly in scientific way to shed light on this significant phenomenon, therefore increasing understanding and perhaps compassion or appreciation for women’s experience! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I seriously feel like fighting with others, getting angry at little things using sarcastic mean comments for others and after that i feel bad for my actions and i start crying like no logic . This like happens 10 days prior my period date i feel like crying on the slightest thing and that frustrates me because i know that i wouldn't cry at the same thing if i didn't have these mood swings and hormonal changes i just cant control my crying and im really emotionally fragile during this time being a Pisces moon im usually sensitive but during this time it really reaches its peak like there is not even a single day at night specially i spent without crying during these days is there any way to stop this ?? Because i really need to stop being this sensitive:(
In my case i feel so tired and lerhargic Its literally feels like i havnt slept for 3-4 days its terrible especially when you are a working woman and have a 9 to 6 job and those back pain during periods 😢😢
It's affect mental health more rather than physical in my case ....dont know y i get irritated without any reason sometimes even crying without any reason ....lot of emotions together ..... worst phase i hate periods 😔
The worst thing about period is that whenever my periods are near or I am on my periods I sink deep in the thoughts that kash mai ladka hoti and trust me nothing is worst than this stupid thought. Stomach ache, mood swings, frustration everywhere and life goes on💔
Ranveer your podcasts are simply superb. Lot of things i get to know or learn from the different guests u get on ur show. Its really amazing. I have a very important topic wherein i need clarifications, remedies cause its majorly affecting me n my life n important people around me. It would be great if u can get a personality who can talk about MENOPAUSE n its side effects especially the mood swings and what they say it as menopause rage and also abt hot flushes n how to overcome. I think it will help lot of older women. Sometimes its really very draining n takes up all our strength n energy later it becomes exhausting. Please if u can.
Pms is a real thing and it's frustrating and sometimes funny too ... sometimes when u are experiencing PMS u literally can cry about a silly thing and u would be bawling your eyes out and u know that but u want to cry so u do .. same goes for getting angry and what not 🤣🤣like this time i literally cried while listening tare zameen par title track and Man in the mirror by MJ, songs which I have listened thousands of time from my childhood but never cried
Pms-ing right now... and I try... try, try so hard to not let it affect me as I fully know what is going on. Right now, I am hiding outside so I don't cry or offend my awesome husband. But as soon as I bleed, the mental part all goes away. My garden helps. I can handle cramps, and the stomach issues that come with it all... it's the mental part that drives me nuts. Ask me again in two weeks when i re read this, and say to myself... that was not the same person. Idk.
U can’t say everyone goes through the PMS. For me I just had severe PMS and menstrual cramps may be 3 times in around 15 years. It was so severe I couldn’t do any work. But other times it was all ok.
Mine is a very unique case. I don't have any pains cramps or mood problems for majority of my periods, but there are 1-2 times in a year when I have EXTREME pain. Like 11/10. And cramps and extreme mood changes. I have to get an injection in those times. Otherwise I start begging to God to kill me. It's also like labor pain because the pain comes in fixed intervals of like.. 30 seconds.. My periods also are never on time, no schedule. After 28 days they just come at any time, 30, 35,40 or even 45 days. No problem anatomically or physiologically. No explanation for those torturous 1-2 times a year and other times no problem at all.
Mera to har period se pehle 1-2 din gharwalo se bhayankar jhagda ho jata hai...pati, saas ko daat deti hu...or 2 din baad arey yaar kya kar diya... Thoda shant reh nahi sakti thi kya.
From starting period it did not affect me till 2years. But one-day suddenly I feel so much pain from head to toe that could not tolerate. And from then it hurts me every period time. At that time I feel more sad, angry not willing to eat anything just want to everybody stay away from me, don't talk me anybody. I want to stay alone .also at that time all type of sorrow come towards my mind.. I stop myself to talk with others because I don't talk nice to them my words become more abusive. That'swhy I need to alone lock myself in a room.
For me evyone should watch this video and any other video related to stuff like this ....bt to be very true evyone have their own period story.... soo i think no one can truly relate it or tell things abut it or something. Only thing we can do is to take to them n take gud care of them .😇
I am an eighteen year old girl. I got my first periods when I was in 7th standard. I didn't knew about periods when I was small. I have an elder sister... When she got periods I saw everybody of my family was treating her like a princess... Giving sweets, jewellery etc.... I was wondering at that young age why no one cares about me... My sister explained me about periods.... But she didnt say what is the thing which bleed during periods... I was 6 yrs at that time... I asked her is it blood or something? Because I only knew about blood regarding our body... She said I will say that when the right time comes.... By seeing the ads and all I came to a conclusion that there is blue fluid in our body... Which bleed during periods... 😌.... I was waiting the blue liquid at that young age for me to come.... When I turned 10 my parents and sister told me the whole process.... I was eager to know when will my first periods start... Because my thought was if I get my periods everybody will consider me big like my sister... When I actually got periods... Okk... Cool... Not any worries... Not any cramps and all..... Heyyy... Krishnaa.... When I got my 3rd periods.... I can't even imagine.... I bleeded like Niagara Falls..... Then the following months also.. The same thing happened... My mother told me.. It's normal... We all have this much bleeding.... But I couldn't hold the pain... I cried at night... And morning we consulted a gynaecologist... She said it's normal... Bleeding will vary according to body.... And the main thing is... My mother, grandmother, sister all have this much bleeding... So the gene also matters.....every woman need to hold the pain.... You can eat pain killers or something... But that doesn't works... As you all know.... Now I am 18 I got habit of this pain.. And learned to hold the pain.... Anyway I know many men see this as a simple process... And we are overreacting on it to gain attention of them as this is a process only for women... 😅.... I don't judge you... Because even I thought the same thing.... Before feeling this much pain... I felt like this is a easy going process why every girls are crying and going crazy over this.... But I know how much painful this is..... But maybe men won't understand that.... (Not every men) Even though you don't venerate periods, no problem but don't defame it.... 🙏 - A simple girl who suffering pain of periods every month ☺
Mayne they ask bcoz if thats the case, they would be dealt with carefully or more kindly than usual. Otherwise one might give rude or harsh reply and may even take women's words personally and too seriously ( when in fact that could well be over dramtic , in case where she is expereincing typical PMS)
Periods really work weird, I didn't had pain or cramps since my periods started but recently after turning 20 I get really bad backpain ,I just lie on bed a day before the menstruation and 1st day Like isn't it supposed to be after it is started

But if women are dealing with period pain and everything that comes with it and hence not living up to the expectations people have of their behaviours---she's PMSing and every time she's a little annoyed or grumpy, she's 'PMSing'. Maybe stop nagging HER and give HER space.

Exactly 💯

If PMS starts 2 weeks prior to menstrual cycle then they’re considered as PMDD ( a more severe form of PMS) PMS generally starts 7-5 days before menstrual cycle but yes they suck and it’s like a switch that turns on and your world is upside down you only live half of your month normally

Ab tum kaise ho?
Everyone can have hormonal problems but women experience it every month. EVERY MONTH. it starts 3 weeks before periods, and stays for the week of period. So essentially a woman is in the best of health only 1 week out of 4 weeks in a month. And thats every month. Now Get a perspective.

💪💪
@@nawal6842 I agree..but still I feel he was quite mellow about it. A female doctor would have been appropriate for a discussion like this.
I mean there's going to be some level of mansplaining. Him being a doctor won't take away from this fact. You have a good point- he could have definitely take the perhaps 1 max it would take to describe how different reproductive issues would influence this. A good opportunity for teaching wasted.
I hope some day such information for men too comes around and once it does it won't be gaslit and struck down

(Not every men)
Even though you don't venerate periods, no problem but don't defame it.... 🙏

"Periods hain kya" when women show any kind of emotions is the most annoying question someone can ask.
Mayne they ask bcoz if thats the case, they would be dealt with carefully or more kindly than usual. Otherwise one might give rude or harsh reply and may even take women's words personally and too seriously ( when in fact that could well be over dramtic , in case where she is expereincing typical PMS)

For me during my periods days i get vomiting , it also feels like we didnt eat anything from 2 days , that much weakness it feels , and the mood is actually fucked up , And the pain oh god 🥲
Use satvari
Also the rashes and itching from using sanitary napkins 😩😩😩
Also talk about how amenorrhoea affects mood swings . I.e not only periods but absence of periods . Thats alot of trouble i think . So when that happens how ur mental state is affected !! We must talk about that too .
I suffer from horrible pain but i never get sufficient time for rest... On first two days barely i get releif for some minutes from cramp...
When i didn't knew about cramps & mood swings, I was okay okay with that & the pain was bearable but when I got to know about these things, I became more moody & lazy huffff

Hi Ranveer. I really appreciate and thank you for the kind of content you bring on youtube. I see a lot of your videos. It would be much applauded if you could make a video on sitting in hawan and pooja and or doing meditation during menstrual cycle, if everything about it is a myth that we cant sit in any pooja etc or it is or all true and and what is the reason behind it.
