Why would you compare a 305hp FWD Car to a 345hp 4WD Car.. You cant compare the Focus RS to the Civic Type R, the Focus RS is now in the same league or classification as the Mercedes Benz A45 AMG and Audi RS3
Sorry to disappoint you but Ford of Europe is largely to be credited for the Focus RS here. But, hey, the Ford Mustang was a Ford of America product, & CT (particularly Alex who drove one for a few days) quite loved it as well. :D
+zzzhuh Focus RS technically isn't totally an American car. It was mainly designed and engineered by the European Ford Performance team. All Focus RS' will also be manufactured in Saarlouis Germany.

I think the ford lineup has also enhanced greatly since they bought Aston Martin. Subaru will always outsell the focus RS, Not saying the focus RS is bad i even had a Cosworth for awhile back in the day, but what annoys me about subaru is stock engine been same for past 7 years. no power increase. ford focus RS hopefully will pressure them to sort it out. mine is running 473 Bhp at the wheels, have a 2.5 ltr, pro drive tuned engine, exhaust kit. and custom manifolds. have HKS cold air intake, stage 2 APEXI ECU with new injectors. the sheer volume of parts out there for an impreza is mad. any Focus RS owners out there? whats the current after market scene in the UK like for the RS?
I HATE these turboed four banger hatchbacks. Focus, Golfs, Honda's Type R, you name it. To the common non-car guy/gal, they always think these cars will lose to my stang. They look okay (not my taste), don't sound all that great even with aftermarket exhaust work (except maybe a STI), and technically perceived as 'lower' on the manufacturer's tier list (ie Focus < Fusion, Golfs < Passat, etc.) yet these mother f'n cars are performance animals. Yes, I'm salty/mad but I have massive respect for these cars and their owners because they put my bolt on V8 to shame. Every. God. Damn. Time. #ModernSleepers?
Well then, try to buy 1 as your second car. It will be an easy excuse. "But honey, we need a family car to bring the kids to school!" And then on weekends you drive on the track or canyons with that. :)

Good car with a few problems. The $40 should be $34K, And since we all know that there is no replacement for displacement, the 2.3 should be AT LEAST 2.5 liters. Furthermore, this car should be labelled LX for luxury. Just look at all that cushy stuff inside the car. Trust me, we don't want it. This car is FAR overweight as well. It weighs almost 3500 ponds, or as much as a V8 Mustang. Get this car to 2900 pounds with the same engine and sell them all day. It's a pig...
"Its not a Volvo" NOPE ITS NOT, anything with less than 5 cylinders is not worth my time. Did Ford make it blue out of protest that they don't have an awesome Volvo engine anymore? :p I sat in one earlier this week, I have to admit that the exterior is great, but the interior is RUBBISH for a 48000 euro car, feels cheap, but than again, its still a Ford :p
So where is Ford believe in FWD "smart" system? How they praised the idea built in the last Rs. And now the 4wd version is here. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see a new turbo 4wd Rs again. Good car with a few problems. The $40 should be $34K, And since we all know that there is no replacement for displacement, the 2.3 should be AT LEAST 2.5 liters. Furthermore, this car should be labelled LX for luxury. Just look at all that cushy stuff inside the car. Trust me, we don't want it. This car is FAR overweight as well. It weighs almost 3500 ponds, or as much as a V8 Mustang. Get this car to 2900 pounds with the same engine and sell them all day. It's a pig...

I sat in one earlier this week, I have to admit that the exterior is great, but the interior is RUBBISH for a 48000 euro car, feels cheap, but than again, its still a Ford :p
So where is Ford believe in FWD "smart" system? How they praised the idea built in the last Rs. And now the 4wd version is here. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see a new turbo 4wd Rs again. But the Mk1 Focus should built this way and that car would be the one. Thanks God Ford guys found their balls lately!
Cool review. I wasn't too excited about the girlish glee/prancing around at the beginning of the vid. Also, are those Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires? If so, what do you mean about "designed for the Focus RS"? Those tires have been out for years; I have them on my Mazdaspeed 3.

He did a huge improvement in the hulk aka MK2 but still the AWD was something that was missing...

Subaru will always outsell the focus RS, Not saying the focus RS is bad i even had a Cosworth for awhile back in the day, but what annoys me about subaru is stock engine been same for past 7 years. no power increase. ford focus RS hopefully will pressure them to sort it out. mine is running 473 Bhp at the wheels, have a 2.5 ltr, pro drive tuned engine, exhaust kit. and custom manifolds. have HKS cold air intake, stage 2 APEXI ECU with new injectors. the sheer volume of parts out there for an impreza is mad. any Focus RS owners out there? whats the current after market scene in the UK like for the RS?
It's a nice car, beautiful, but in my country these sport versions of the Focus and the Fiesta are mostly bought by rich juniors and douchebags that don't know anything about cars, they think just by putting an air filter and a shitty muffler they can beat supercharged v8's or twin turboed V6's, they are just rich kids using daddy's money. Stereotypes in my country, but I have seen a lot of these type of people driving these cars. It's something similar to how you see BMW and Subaru WRX stereotypes in Europe, or that is what I have been told. I know it's bad to generalise, but it's a little bit common.

I put my order in on 12Oct2015 as soon as the order banks opened in the US. To hear those words makes me feel complete. Words can't express how excited I am to get my keys to my car.

Can't be 100% sure until you figure out how much boost those pistons/connecting rods can hold
