      I don't see it as a failure but more as a learning curve. A possible very expensive curve, but hey, I would do it in a min if I had that kind of money

      Agreed 110% You're human, and this stuff happens to all of us. I fought a no start problem for 10 hours once which turned out to just be corrosion on a few B+ wires at my starter solenoid. It happens, and it sucks, but it's all part of the fun. It's how we earn our stripes in this hobby/work.

      Those T-Tops are keeping the unibody from twisting. If they had them off when doing those first gear pulls I don't think both T-Tops would go back on.

      Just the way it goes, cletus tips 1000hp cars often and is obviously used to it. I own a e39 540i6sc running about 400whp and after a while I craved for more. I drive my girls passat diesel sometimes and its fucking pitiful lol I immediately regret the decision after the first corner

    It’s super real to show failures and it’s important too. It helps keep others from being discouraged especially younger people just getting into the world of cars. Plus many people who watch automotive Chanel’s like yours are interested in the entire process, not just seeing the cars make sick pulls when they’re running perfect. Things like this can help people watching who might be working with a similar platform and goal in mind.

    Seeing the struggles brings hope and reality to some of us who have struggled. Watching some people edit out everything that isn't perfect and acting like "Build it, Burn it... Done" just creates an environment where people get frustrated by their common problems then give up and quit believing that their just not as "smart" as the TV builders.

      The rev limiter on my Microsquirt has hysteresis that kicks in a soft limit before the full no fuel cutoff at the limit, perhaps your controller does the same?

      @@noanoxan I tried ignition cut but I was getting misfires instead of no fires for some reason, so just cutting the power to the injectors worked better. Also I didn't want raw fuel washing the oil off the cylinder walls.It works fine either way for me as far as preventing over-rev, but I prefer to not have raw fuel in the cylinder.

      Dave Eisler yea and no , they need to learn but he should’ve been a bit more thoughtful . We can teach ppl things without wasting other ppl time . U see they sent the heads in n they got a replacement. But what about those ppl putting the work on the heads . Or the owner of the machine shop ? It wasn’t the machine shop fault but some how he paying for it .

    On the third pull you can see the tach on the dyno jumping all over, crank or cam sensor is shot?

      I believe the dyno reads rpm independently from the computer, but I do suspect there is a cam or crank signal issue.

      i think the dyno measure the rpm by audio. too many interferences will disturb it.

    I’m a motorcycle guy. I’d love to build a bike with these dudes. This is so sick. I know it’s not all glammed and fun. It’s frustrating, it’s time consuming and it’s at times demoralizingly disappointing...usually very expensive too. But to build a bike on this channel would probably be so much fun.     Is your crank or cam sensor wrong? Is it expecting a different number of teeth and throwing all the calculations off?

      check out the tach on the dyno on some of the early pulls, something ain't right. You may be on to something with the cam/crank sensor

      It has a brand new Holley dual sync distributor. That provides cam and crank signals.

      Ribbityibzki which is the problem. That dual sync needs adjusting which is why it’s always hitting That wall at 5800. They should have gone with a crank wheel setup which is more reliable

      but if they are looking at the computers logs, they are seeing what the computer see's, right? so if it was getting a bad RPM signal, wouldn't they also see the rpm flying around on the logs?

      @@ryancrazy1 - yes. When they do a pull, tuners switch to a screen of gauges and readings like air to fuel ratios. But the Gauges show RPM, TEMP, Oil Pressure, Boost, etc. Depends on what they choose for that screen

      @@ryancrazy1 I had a flaky cam sensor on my car. Ran like shit, no tach on the dash, but the COMPUTER was perfectly happy, dealership couldn't figure out WTF was the problem. Finally took it to another place, they replaced the sensor and the car runs fine again. Well, as fine as a 2003 wanna-be Malibu CAN run that is.

    It's awesome to see you guys working on cars again! You guys are getting big time now and I get it. I like all the big time expensive parts and all the racing, but to be honest your Miley wrecking ball moment in the junkyard was my favorite of all time. The episodes getting Ruby and Neighbor's first engine were gold. Swamp bogger episodes were up there.
    I know it sounds boring but I would have loved to see you tear into leroy's clutch. Back to the roots.

    Check the rev limiter histeresis, it will hit soft limit at rev limit rpm minus histeresis rpm.
