Maria Bamford is unique, beyond brilliant and singularly hilarious. She is like no other comic in her vocal characterizations, elastic facial expressions and weaving of surreal situations while representing honest emotions in intelligent women and sensitive people in general. I could go on, but that could get cloying. I heart (and mind) Maria Bamford.
+pappppie it's often hit and miss with her but the hits are so brilliant it's worth sticking with. The parable about faith as "the glowing logo of an international conglomerate" is as good as comedy gets
I love Maria, but her style doesn't fit these 4 and a half minute slices very well. Seemed like she was moving quickly to get her spot done in time. When she can go at her own pace, she's fucking brilliant!
+djf750 I am also watching a second time! I shall be going for the third tomorrow. There's no way it can't get a second series. I thank the message leaving baby Jesus for Maria Bamford.
Second season would probably mean dilution and eking it out. Be happy with one season of greatness. I don't know if Maria has enough additional torture to pull up out of her soul. In a way, I hope not.
Maria Maria She reminds me of a west side story Growing up in Spanish Harlem She's living the life just like a movie star Maria Maria She fell in love in East L.A. To the sounds of the guitar, yeah, yeah Played by Carlos Santana Se mira Maria on the corner Thinking of ways to make it better Maria you know you're my lover When the wind blows I can feel you Through the weather and even when we're apart It feels like we're together
Why is this marvelous and lovely lady only NOW making it to my recommendations, Google? You alerted me to her presence too late to make a difference in her life, so you are guilty of making me lonely!
If I can categorize comics like games/toys, I would put most in the fake vomit/fart pillows category, a few in the checkers category, but Maria and Dave Chapelle in the chess category. Good stuff. Thanks for posting!
maria bamford is my favorite female comedian. like, i feel like a lot of popular women comedians do like really woman specific jokes that i cant really relate to, maria just tells...jokes!
I've never quite been sure whether or not I liked her but this act was hella funny! The Paula Dean suicide note and Gravy Boat jokes were hilarious. And yes! I AM high right now :)
Conan "My next guest is so much more funny than I am and more talented that I can taste the bile and recognize my own banality and realize I am no better than Leno after all..." *click* Bang!
"Hi Marian! It's BJ." Haha the delivery was so good, but no laughs... I think sometimes her punchlines go past people because they can be hard to hear (I mean, among other reasons of course, but this joke was pretty accessible, I thought).
Tell that to comedians like Frankie Boyle who cite her as one of their favorite performers. I love her style. It's not standup by the numbers, thank baby Jesus.
Funny women: Lucille Ball, Tallulah Bankhead, Joan Rivers, Lily Tomlin, Gilda Radner, Whoopi Goldberg, Laura Keitlinger, Roseanne, Brett Butler, Sandra Bernhard, Fran Lebowitz, Caroline Rhea, Ellen DeGeneres, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Poehler, Jen Kirkman, Kristen Wiig, Kathy Griffin (that's right you heard me) Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, Kristen Schaal, Tina Fey, Amy Sedaris, Alex Borstein. In the UK: Emma Thompson, French&Saunders, Izzy Sutty, Catherine Tate, Josie Long...just to name a few
Well, in my opinion, the social commentary/satire she put in front of us might have been accurate but not necessarily *funny*. Just because people don't laugh doesn't mean they don't get it. Knowhatamean? :/
i love her vocal abilities. its crazy how different she can make herself sound
and its filled..... with scrumptious gravy

+Ring0fSaturn you are wrong. it got cloying after the first sentence.
@@ogami1972 asshole
This phase in Maria’s comedy that got these awkward laughs was my favorite
Maria is amazing. She can do any voice exceptionally well. Her comedic talent is brilliant. Very attractive as well.
+Shawn M wow, you held out until the 4th sentence. well done.
best part is she does not care that most of the audience seems to not get it/not appreciate it. I LOVE HER!
Genius.
So excited to see her live tomorrow, she's a friggin genius. Intelligent comedy masked in cuteness and creativity. Love her.
just when I think the punch doesn't exist she hits me with it and I start dying everytime.
This made me laugh out loud!! Baby Jesus bit and Paula Deen was so good
That Paula Deen bit is incredible.
"AN EGGGGGGG!" is said around my home often. :D
Brilliant. Comedy on another level. Love her!
you are awesome Maria!
this is really original. a unique and fascinating talent.
+muggedinmadrid It's unique and fascinating, but not really funny. To each his own though.
+pappppie it's often hit and miss with her but the hits are so brilliant it's worth sticking with. The parable about faith as "the glowing logo of an international conglomerate" is as good as comedy gets
+punkpoetry And the messages from Baby Jesus. His voice.
+punkpoetry Rand
She is so underated her standup is hilarious !!! the voices and everything ,
85% of Americans are raciest bigoted dumb muthafuggas. They wouldnt know the giffted or Jesus if they sat on the F train right next to em.

One of the best voices currently. Love her range. She should be narrating documentaries.

I love her comedy!
I die everytime i watch this! I love me some MB!
I have a huge crush on Maria Bamford, laughed till I cried. Wasn't expecting the rabbits, though.
The Paula Dean bit was hilarious. Her voices are always amazing.
I love her!
She's awesome.
i just saw her do this same bit in another video. it really takes the crazy out of it when you see her do it again
She is in my opinion one of the best female comics
I love Maria, but her style doesn't fit these 4 and a half minute slices very well. Seemed like she was moving quickly to get her spot done in time. When she can go at her own pace, she's fucking brilliant!
Ranni Kaffar Quickly moving and highly censored as well.
powergirl901 totally agree withh theses comments, i love her
+Ranni Kaffar True. She did feel rushed.
She's made of pure magic... :)
I love this so much.
Best female comedian of all time. Top 10 of all time for me.
Your answer speaks volumes about your knowledge of comedy.
Another classic brilliant Bamford Bit for posterity. But she has more and we're not in posterity yet.
I'm sure it would be a wild ride, but I want to marry Maria Bamford. She is so hilarious and quirky.
I don't even care about laughing out loud; she's just so clever. Her one hour couch special is one of the best things ever.
She's such a trip!!
I LOVE her!!!!!!
She is Lady Dynamite on Netflix...brilliant show
*****
I am currently watching it a second time, I discovered it last week. She is a REAL talent
+djf750 I am also watching a second time! I shall be going for the third tomorrow. There's no way it can't get a second series. I thank the message leaving baby Jesus for Maria Bamford.
It's fascinating but I don't think I could recommend it to anybody but people who already GET Maria ( whatever that means ).
Second season would probably mean dilution and eking it out. Be happy with one season of greatness. I don't know if Maria has enough additional torture to pull up out of her soul. In a way, I hope not.
"..mmm, pterodactyl noises.."
I love Maria. She doesn't do the usual schtick many other female comedians do.
she is simply an amazing comic...
Genius performance!... I love her laugh at 4:08...
I love Maria
incredible...
Maria Maria
She reminds me of a west side story
Growing up in Spanish Harlem
She's living the life just like a movie star
Maria Maria
She fell in love in East L.A.

Thinking of ways to make it better
Maria you know you're my lover
When the wind blows I can feel you
Through the weather and even when we're apart
It feels like we're together
Maria Bamford is soooooo funny .
LOVE me some Maria!
The BEST.
love the American horror story reference during paula dean segment.
3:16 y'all it's not a Paula Dean impression per se, but it summerizes her southern cooking to a T.
Maria Bamford is my hero.
She is brave and funny!
Standup/acting hybrid = creative material and delivery. Just great.
Why is this marvelous and lovely lady only NOW making it to my recommendations, Google? You alerted me to her presence too late to make a difference in her life, so you are guilty of making me lonely!
I LOVE this woman
Tremendous. She always is.
Her bit about Delilah is my favorite
What's great about her is, there is NOTHING like her NOBODY does what she does and she commits to it, and ....
WOW
Genius
Totally awesome reminds me of early Steve Allen!
If I can categorize comics like games/toys, I would put most in the fake vomit/fart pillows category, a few in the checkers category, but Maria and Dave Chapelle in the chess category. Good stuff. Thanks for posting!
Wait till you discover Frankie Boyle....the best living comic. Pretty unknown in the US tho.
heard her interviewed on npr by terry gross today. so glad i know of a good comedian now. she seems in the same wheelhouse as jim gaffigan. :)
I saw her netflix show first, can't believe I've never heard of before and the fresh air interview after, great comedian.
Hilarious. A real artist. Beautiful woman.
Love her :)
Awesome
Hilarious and edgy like few others. Maria stands up and stands out. Comedy genius
maria bamford is my favorite female comedian. like, i feel like a lot of popular women comedians do like really woman specific jokes that i cant really relate to, maria just tells...jokes!
everybody luva da maria! bam! bam!
she was so cute when she finished the set :3
I've never quite been sure whether or not I liked her but this act was hella funny! The Paula Dean suicide note and Gravy Boat jokes were hilarious. And yes! I AM high right now :)
Where did you get this information from?
Damn, that lady's funny!
@ComicPenius agreed. "appropriate!" was perfect.
Female Version of Robin Williams, omg lol
MEGABOINK65 Female Lenny Bruce.
Except she is funny.
I like her much better.
what about her being her own version... Americans and their generic need to compare.
@@Stoney-Jacksman Americans? It's human nature.
maybe they didn't...but we did...and the joke was hilarious!
I love you Maria! You should be more appreciated.
Conan "My next guest is so much more funny than I am and more talented that I can taste the bile and recognize my own banality and realize I am no better than Leno after all..." *click* Bang!
The Bammers!
"Hi Marian! It's BJ." Haha the delivery was so good, but no laughs... I think sometimes her punchlines go past people because they can be hard to hear (I mean, among other reasons of course, but this joke was pretty accessible, I thought).
This woman is an absurdist genius.
Apparently you stumbled onto this video while looking for Leno.
Tell that to comedians like Frankie Boyle who cite her as one of their favorite performers. I love her style. It's not standup by the numbers, thank baby Jesus.
I found the" 'Tohoku Inn' within"
one night in Yonezawa.....
"a mother knows"= the creepiest voice she's ever done. Except possibly the Target ads
Not sure what you mean... They were laughing weren't they?
LMAO @ Paula Deen

Hey Conan. Here's a REAL comedian.
she has used this routine to death. c'mon, maria.
you try writing some new material and let me know how that goes
I LOVE TAPPAS.
The audience was laughing so I couldn't hear baby Satan....and auto correct just capitalized Satan....
Jee-knee-us!!!!!!!!!!!
Each day I wake up to a new nightmare
@ihearcalling but thats why its even more funny D:
Came here for the know-it-all comment about comedic timing... who's gunna be the one to say it ???
A great set. The audience was kinda dead.
@srslycurious search "Maria Bamford pwns Zach Galifianakis" lol
Well, in my opinion, the social commentary/satire she put in front of us might have been accurate but not necessarily *funny*. Just because people don't laugh doesn't mean they don't get it. Knowhatamean? :/
I wish she was my neighbor .
