I will never understand this part of being worried/angry about a celebrity dating.
Otherwise, we're still behind the times when it comes to worrying about other people's sexuality.
Because of their culture.
The word idol is already weird to put on a human being.
These ppl are being fantasied about, that's what they sell.
Most of that public, is straight women.
When they find out the idol is gay or not single, it destroys that fantasy about being their crush/love interest.
And they are no longer desirable.
Some ppl even feel betrayed.
But it happens too if the image they sell publicly, for example being cutesy, gets exposed to be fake.
Ppl feel tricked.
Here in western culture a singer is admired about their music. ppl rather act betrayed if they change said music calling them sell outs.
Same with acting, ppl feel betrayed if a actor who has roles where they are often hero's and heartthrobs turn out to be grumpy or have completely different image of what they portrayed.
If you work in entertainment, you are a product and thus objectified and not seen as a person anymore.
Ppl in the entertainment industry gain alot of money but the expectations are astronomical.
Because their culture is socially not very advanced
They need to do better bc how does getting mad makes sense 💀
Everyone needs to drop the idea that you should judge their private life. As long as what they do is legal leave them alone.
@@finnrogue9435 Westerners calling other ppl's culture not advanced is downright condescending and racist.
Their culture is different. Nothing to do with being advanced or not.
It's because of how relationships are seen. But you can look that up yourself.
Also ppl here in western culture also get mad over celebrities beefs and love lives too.
It's just being mad for different reasons.
Reality tv, gossip rags, social media, paparazzi, litteraly still exist bc they have high demand/watch rates.
Every society has it's merits and demerits and is made of how it historically evolved.
It's hypocritical at best to look down on how other society evolved when western society made advancements mainly by colonialism and coasting by and building countries on stolen resources and technological inventions of others.
I was so excited to see Holland! I'm so glad he's starting to get more popular. He really deserves it.
Yes he really does
Glad I stan him since 2019🥰
@@Threegreentails yes he can ur just jealous because u can’t even sing
@@Threegreentails He actually sings really well. Go be a hater somewhere else babe.
yes!! :)
He named himself as "Holland" because that's the first country to legalise same sex marriage.
I was really surprised that neither Yumi or Jei didn't know about him.
I thought he might be so popular. I got to know him as the first open gay idol.
I mean he acted as the main character in korean BL drama called "Ocean likes me".
He also did a cameo in the recent BL drama "Roommates of Poongduck 304" (as Ho Cheol - Seo Jaeyoon's friend).
He even has a TH-cam channel.
I've read a lot that international fans perceptions of how popular any idol or group might be in Korea doesn't usually match up with reality. From what I've heard, Koreans tend to lean towards solo ballad singers, they're not really that into pop music and Kpop is kind of brushed off to be for young kids and middle school kids. They also tend to really not know much about what goes on with the Kpop scene unless it's an artist under a Big 3 company and even then they might only know the group name or have heard a song or two and not know more.
Understand that Korean is a conservative country. Many are unsupportive of the community (of course, not the individuals in this video). So Holland and other LGBTQ+ people from the K-Pop community are often hindered. It is hard to gain fame and support. Being the “first” doesn’t mean you’ll gain fame easily.
He’s popular internationally but not much in Korea
@@hongjoongsbutterflyyes ur right Kpop fans in Korea are kids tens and young adults. Most young and mid adults however listen to Hiphop and R&B Older folks listen to trot singers and ballads.
he should have called himself Netherlands instead of Holland. holland is like two provinces of the Netherlands
I'm so happy that he is showing his true self. I hope Korea becomes more accepting of the LGBT community.
Period👏🏾👏🏾
I hope so too but, they’ve got a looooong waaay to go. 😐
@@localeboy808 actually they're getting really better, there are tv shows with gay datings and more bl dramas are incoming from korea
@@elenasantoro2404 yeah they are getting better, but you still can’t walk down the street if you’re openly gay. holland actually got punched in the face earlier this year and got called a ‘dirty gay’ which was definitely targeted. korea is getting slightly better with more bl’s but that’s about it
@@elenasantoro2404 I mean, yeah that’s better in a way, cause it breaks some taboo’s, but let’s be honest, a lot of people also watch same sex relationship dramas cause they fetishize them, not exactly because they support the community. Like men with lesbians, or fans with gay shipping. A sickening amount of BL is about fetishizing and sexualizing gay relationships over actually representing them. I’m queer and I used to read/watch (mostly webtoons/ff) a lot of BL at first (cause it didn’t have misogyny), but like 90% are beyond toxic and so clearly sexualized/fetishized. I had to stop, it made me so mad. Pretty much the more abusive and unhealthy relationship was, the more popular story got (from my experience). So I just hope those shows will have a good representation, rather than another thing for audience to fantasize about (didn’t watch that many lately, so maybe they are good :))
I don't really care at all if an idol it's gay or if she has a girlfriend or she's married, the only things I worry about idols it's that they stay healthy (mentally and physically), their appearances in TV shows and YT series/videos and being able to create amazing music, that's all I need from them.
Which is how it should be, in my opinion. Actually i think a lot of idols would benefit from being in relationships because they can have someone to support and understand them. And it's sad that they have to give up their dreams of forming a family in order to be an artist.
@@crazyowlgirlcncowner exactly! And also, it's a bad thing for their life in general not to be able to date and have romantic or sexual relationships because that experience is important for their future too... I really feel bad for them and for the fans that hate when idols find someone they love...
Exactly, I mean we should all just be here for they're music and talents. Fans need to stop acting as if the idol is gonna marry or date because there's a really low (and I mean really low) chances of that happening. Just pay attention to your own life and appreciate their work as an artist 🤷♂️ You shouldn't care about their sexuality(because that's for them to know unless they want to announce/come out) and whatever just focus on the music they produce
Totally agreed. Idols is not a possession or real boy friend.
@@Joziahwasright exactly. Of course you're gonna like some idols physically and also their personality, that is not the problem, we all are human and can feel attracted to anyone by his/her looks and personality (myself, for example, I can say that I completely love how Yunjin from Le Sserafim and Yuqi from (G)I-DLE are and of course I find them attractive), the problem starts when you become obsessed by them and become a jerk with them when they are dating someone... My point is: fall in love with whoever you want, that's something human and that can happen but please, if you really want them to be happy (as you always claim by being a fan), then show them your support and love when they marry someone or when they are dating someone, they chose that person for a reason and we have to support them and feel happy for them! 💪🏻✨ Same goes for when they say they are lesbian or gay, support them and feel proud of them by being able to say it out loud because we know how things still are in Korea about that subject.
Why should the sexuality of an idol matter to a fan? Like they are a fan because of the music. Why do fans try to invade the privacy of their idols?
You have the answer in your comment actually.
They re not only fans of their music.. they re obsessed with these idols.
They re possessive bc idols are « created » for them unfortunately.
They way idols, dress, looks, act, everything is made up by their agency, it’s a persona.
This is really unhealthy.
@@Solip_i like what is wrong with these fans. Why do they act like idols are their possession??? They can do whatever they like and fans have nthg to do with it
Ever heard of Selena Perez? A fan invaded her privacy and eventually killed her.
Fans invade their idols’ privacy because they want to feel a “closer connection” with them (like an obsessive stalker). The more they know about them, the more they feel “special” or “important” to their favorite idol. And when they date, they feel an inferiority complex. It’s also sad to realize agencies know this. They want idols to form a closer bond with their fans to gain money and fame more easily. That’s why they encourage building up a fanbase and leaking their privacy. It’s all dirty business.
Because I’m a country which still doesn’t provide protection for LGBTQIA, the representation of anyone gay in the media is severely needed
As a man from the LGBT+ community who listens to kpop sometimes, I was really happy to discover Holland. I'll look up at his projects
Yes you won’t regret it and pls also watch his debut BL drama Ocean likes me it’s really good
Also as a LyOn I think you’d love OnlyOneOf they’re all about the LGBTQ+ Community

I'm so happy that Holland go to go on giggle. He is such an amazing person and artist and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. And thanks to Holland I had the courage to come out to my family as well ☺️🏳️🌈
im very happy for you!! :D
holland is spreading a beautiful message all around, he needs more exposure!
@@gilnahnu thank you ☺️and that is so true 🥰
thats amazing for u congrats!!
@@jaemhos thank you ☺️
The thing is that he's not that good at singing. It's great that he was able to come out though
You don't understand how fast i clicked on this video....
*I love you holland!!!!!!!*
He's just such an inspiring artist when you really look in to his music and backstory. It's not easy being rejected by 15 companies just because of your sexuality and then saving up money to start a solo career with no help.
I hope to see more of him on this channel.
Exactly! And he did such a great job in his first acting role too (BL- which is amazing as well). I love that he is breaking barriers.
@@qtshel68which drama?
@@Yoongisgurl7 ocean like me
@@qtshel68 thanks 💜
i would love to hear his opinion on fanservice. how hetero idols act lovey-dovey with their fellow group mates just to get more famous. and how BL shows are famous yet an actual homosexual idol gets hate and abused. the fans are so two faced.... i saw his pretty recent tweet that he got beaten on the streets. poor man. he deserves the whole world and even more ❤️🩹 hang in there, Holland!!!!
"hetero" well you don't know if they are or not, if they come out they would left without career. And friends can act lovey-dovey with their friends too.
it’s surprising that Holland isn’t more famous in korea! i remember hearing about him right when i started listening to kpop. Holland fighting 💕💪🏻
Majority of the country does not listen to kpop. That’s probably why.
He's so brave, so many men who are either out or closeted, I think it's nice to know that they have someone to look up to. Idols leave such a huge impression on people and he would for sure find people that relate.
His bravery is going to be such a step forward for more acceptance in South Korea! So proud of him and I hope he can achieve his goals and dreams ❤️
I believe you will make it Holland.
And reach that goal! Thanks for bringing him on the show ! He’s a true idol, rolemodel, and fashion icon 🤍
It is so good to see Holland being more and more recognized! He is so sweet and so brave!
I really hope he finds more acceptance in Korea. His music is wonderful and he seems such a kind soul, I wish him so much success and happiness
Holland is so brave!! I love him, thank you for everything you do for the community!! ,
So so so soooo glad I discovered Holland in his debut days, such an inspiring, genuine human beeing and great artist, thanks for having him here 🙆🏼♀️💕
I'm from the Netherlands, but I didn't know that's why he called himself Holland. That's pretty cool. Also, little fun fact: Holland is actually just a small part of the Netherlands. There's two provinces called north and south Holland that are Holland together. Even though Holland is often used to refer to the Netherlands as a whole, in reality it's just a part of the country
What an uphill battle this beautiful and talented man has had to face and continues to face !
I wish it would become more normal for idols to be people too. People that date and have different orientations etc. I'm so glad to see Holland here. Thank you for having him on this show. I truly hope he can one day be in any show he wishes to be on. I also hope he realizes that he is opening the way for others like him in the future. 💕
Alll my love and support for Holland ❤
It's a brave decision to make, to be out in an industry that doesn't support queer people. I hope he inpires others to be their fearlessly authentic selves! We need more proud LGBTQIA+ artists!
As a Dutchie Im so happy he felt supported and/or empowered by our country ❤
I super respect holland for paving the way for more people being able to come out in the future. Things always start small but i'm sure Korea can change too^^
He's so cute! His whole vibe and personality is just adorable! Goodness I can't! So cute!
i love how the whole comment section is very accepting & ain't toxic✨
As he was talking about wounds, I remembered the incident that happened to him in Seoul when his first gay drama was airing.
never heard about Holland but i'm a fan now bc he seems so sweet
OMG, IT'S HOLLAND. I would cry if I met Holland, he's such a pure soul and I love him so much. I'm crying right now, gdi-
Sooo happy seeing Holland here, he’s amazing and deserves the best 🥰🥰
Is anyone not going to speak about his outfit, its on fire. 😍😍😍
Omg it's Holland!!! I love him and I love his music, I'm so happy to see him in a Giggle video!
I love Holland so much 😭❤️ he is such an icon both in fashion and music scene 💙❤️ I'm so proud for all the success he is having and the strength he has to fight against those who hurt him 🏳️🌈💙 I love you Holland I will always support you ❤️❤️
i was there when holland debuted and i listened to his song and thought it was alright, i once followed him on instagram too. lately i saw him being friends with idols i know like yeri but haven’t seen his new song since debuted. its refreshing to see him here since i almost never see him anywhere.
I didn't know about Holland....but now onwards I will support as much as I can. Holland, stay safe and healthy....be happy.
Love Holland, he’s so kind and courageous! He’s talented and I wish slowly more people from Korea will grow to know him and understand that he deserves respect and that the sexuality of an idol shouldn’t be an issue
No one after Seokcheon hyung? Now i'm thinking if Mrshll wasn't already on TV, but i think it was only TH-cam things etc, not on national TV or so..
Anyways, props to Giggle. And the styling on Holland, I'd totaly wear that(if i had such figure xD)
Mrshll was on Show Me The Money as a ft. for Woo Won Jae, but I don't think he got more tv besides that unfortunately.
I am a Mexican fan of Holland, I love him very much, him as a person and his art as a singer and now as an actor, so as a person who lives on the other side of the world I feel a little sad that these people who live on his country do not recognize him (I know the reasons, I do not accept them, but I understand them) I wish they could see how he is loved around the world
I see Holland on the thumbnail I click. This man deserves more recognition and the world!! I'm waiting for new music from him. I hope that Giggle invites OnlyOneOf too because they're very supportive of the LGBTQ community as well.
I didn't care about if idol is gay or lesbien ,they are dating or not ...something matters they should be happy and continue making music and people understand them..they are humans too💜
OMG HOLLAND I LOVE HIM none of my KPopper friends ever mention him I'm so happy to see him I love him so much and I'm so happy he has a boyfriend he feels comfortable around he deserves the best ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍💗💖💞💝💘🌸
So happy to see more of holland on youtube! he's been through so much but still shines with so much love, and his charming personality doesn't get enough appreciation
반복편집말고 교차편집이면 더재밌겠네요 인사하다 반이끝나네
So happy for him. Hopefully Korea can eventually become more open minded and accepting 🫶🏻
I hope they accept muslims as they accept the lgbtq
several Kpop singers are gay and in huge famous groups. Many are depressed, suffer from loneliness and anxiety due to it. Sadly some have killed themselves. Due to SK's stance on gay rights they keep hidden. So sad and I hope one day SK will join the rest of the world on equality. As a fan your job is to listen to their music, watch their shows, buy their music and merch, stream. NOT dictate who they date and when. Not be up in their personal life. Only in Kpop do you see such and extreme interest in the personal lives of artist. In America when a singer dates we are happy for them and support them and if they break up we get mad at their ex with them lol
How do u know that
@@kkde9211 law of probability. very naive to think everyone is straight. that includes popular groups as well.
its so funny to me when people say they dont know of any gay idols. there are so many of them that THERE MUST BE SO MANY!!
Yumi:Does your all organs fit there...🤣🤣🤣
I've been Harling since debut. I adore Holland so much and so proud of him!
I hate people getting mad at their idols dating (whoever). I mean. Their happiness should be your top priority. CMON.
Oh, I’m surprised they haven’t heard of Holland as an artist. I’m not Korean but I heard of him and his music a couple years ago.
Holland always makes me very happy and a bonus is that I'm from the Netherlands, so it's really cool that he named himself after us.
I knew about him beforehand but it's the first time I'm watching any content related to Holland and I really liked how he seems so confident and sure about himself and in his body :) assumed he would be as it takes that strength to be able to come out as an idol but to see it was very refreshing
When I saw Holland here I was a bit nervous for how the guests would react but I’m happy to see that they were pretty accepting and respectful.
I was so excited to see Holland on the show!!! Thank you Giggle!
He always seems like a really cute human being, I hope he is as fine as can be in and with his life, like healthwise and all that stuff people have to boggle with being humans and Artists.
oohhhhh my baby Holland!!! I was so excited to see your face here
I've heard of Holland, I didn't know that was him. He was so brave coming out before he debuted.
I remember this young artist.... I left a comment about the MV *Neverland*. Beautiful song.
It's wonderful to see how well Holland is doing in life & how far he continues to soar!!!
My granddaughter was 13 yrs old when she told me that she was a lesbian, and how hard it was for her to come to me and open up. My only question to her was .... "Are YOU Happy" she said yes, and "that's all that matters... I will love her no matter who she is, what she chooses to be in life or what her sexual preferance is .... WHY? Because she is a Person that brings me joy, love, pride & above all happiness... shouldn't I, as her grandmother give her the same unconditional emotional support? YES.....!!! If you think otherwise... well, that is something that will rot slowly into your soul .. which is none of my concern.
you're an amazing grandmother!!
no matter what u r or how u r ... as long as u r talented .... u will haave a great life a head .... wishing u the best from indian EXO-l
The talk between Holland and the girls was really nice, I really like watching videos like this...
I hope he becomes famous af and conducts world wide concerts 😭😭😭 I definitely wanna go to his concerts
Holland is so darned adorable and paving a way for so many in the LBGQTI+ community and the bravery it takes to do that in such a conservative country. I so look forward to seeing where his life and career takes him! 💜🦋
Awww, he's such a cutiepie. Glad to see him here
My country is always associated with weed 😂 But it's so nice to see Holland getting more recognition! I've been a fan for years and I always brag about living in the country he got his name from 😌
As a person who lives in the Netherlands, is a part of the LGBTQ+ community and listens Kpop, this video has a special place in my heart.
I remember he debuted around the time when txt my playlist would play txt tdc: dream chapter album and Holland nar c song 2019 spring was so pretty 💛
He has such a likeable personality! I’ll always root for you Holland!

So happy for you Holland showing the true self of you. You deserve to be happy and love of all your fans💙
I think Holland is so great. Despite the difficulties he had. he was always open and honest and stands by it.
Holland you're doing everything right. You're a great singer and entertainer. Just a wonderful person.Holland stay as you are. And don't let others tell you anything. I wish you a lot of love in your life and that you meet the right one.

AHHHHH IM SCREAMING MY FAV KPOP IDOL IS ON MY FAV YT CHANNEL
I first saw Holland yesterday on Dive Studios “Get Real”, and I think he absolutely the coolest guy in Kpop 👏🏼👍🏼
You don't know how fast i clicked on the video, I was really exited to see Holland in the thumbnail, sending lots of love, keep fighting❤❤❤
LOVE him!!!! I will never understand why these labels have the UNREALISTIC ban on idols dating. They're humans, many of them being so young, that STILL have a ways to mature. To experience the stages in human development that we all must go through. Sexuality being a major one. Hell, many people still don't come to the realization of their sexuality until later in life, so with that being said, it DOES NOT MATTER to me what an idol's sexuality is because that is not a measure of their worth!! 💖🏳️🌈💖
*HOLLAND* ♥
He looks great and he's such an amazing artist. All the best for him and his new projects. I love his new song and hopefully he'll have a new drama soon.
I couldn't stop laughing when the girl in pink said: "Can all your organs fit in there?" 😉😀
im glad giggle showed this.Saying this as a straight man there are many places all over the world where lgbtq+ is put down to say the least. It hurts knowing that there are places and people who put down others based on their sexual orientation. If they arent hurting anybody just let that person be happy, and achieve their dreams.
I love him!! 😭❤️🏳️🌈
He really is an unique idol this is my first time hearing about him but I will definitely look up to his work.
You're right to be worried about him getting hurt. Because he has been, and not just emotionally/verbally -- and not just in the distant past.
I will always admire and respect him for his courage. He stands out there every single day being a magnet for hate and disdain and judgment (even more so than every other idol, because lbr, it's an innately toxic environment) while just trying to live his life being true to himself and making art. All while essentially on his own, without fellow queer idols standing alongside him to provide support or strength in numbers or a united front or even just a cushion against the hateful spotlight.
Someday queer idols and other artists will be safe to be out, and I hope when that time finally comes, people will remember that Holland laid some of the very first pavers on that path. He takes the hits rn so later down the line, others won't have to. He shouldn't have to either, but the world can really suck sometimes.
I'm so proud of you Holland you are the best
OMG Holland X Giggle? the collab we never knew we needed, I love this so much!
I truly support this
...
There are so many idols the one i follow for really long and can know that they are gay but can't come out openly because of the homophobic or because of people who thinks themselves god to certified others 🥺
Holland is such a sweetheart, I’ve known about him eversince his debut and always rooting for him. I hope the public would be more willing about him
i think with dating things, international fans are way more open about this because most countries used to that. in my country, celebrities dating are like public consuming things. they even makes money with that. but korea are not used to that to the point dating is considered a scandal. even more with idols especially these days. 4th gen idols can’t even interact because they’re afraid of rumors. its sad that we’re going down from where we used to be. 2nd~3rd gen idols even do ads together and participate in we got married.
i really hope people stop thinking that having someone to love is a sin for idols
holland continues to inspire so many people i hope he’s always happy
It sadens me that not only are homosexuals still treated this way in Korea, what sadens me the most is, that the culture they live in teach them from youth that treating them like that is ok. This guy had a lot of curage to come out before debut and i admire him deeply. I wish more people would do this in a quest to normalize LGBT, because Korea must feel like prison for them in a way. I realy hope one day Korea join the club and realize that different sexuality is not a disease or political statement, but completely normal natural thing and people who hapen to be this way deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else. Human beings should never be judged by sexuality. I dont even understand how this is not self evident truth everywhere... I like so many things about Korea, but these social dogmas alone infuriateme. Its sad to see at times idols from Korea, who are obviously gay, to pretend something else all the time, wearing a mask of lies in a fear, that their true self image would end their career entirely.
Holland's speaking voice is very pleasant. It was nice to see him get increasingly comfortable and natural as the video went on. He looked pretty stiff when he first came on, but very charming as it went on.
Way to go Holland! Wishing you good health, success and every happiness you deserve! 💗💗💗
When you rlly think about it their are probably other men in boy groups that are gay but just don't admit it or come out about it. Holland is brave for doing so LITERALLY, especially in korea!!!
He's a fine, brave and talented young man. Korea should be proud oh him as an artist and as a citizen.
When I saw the thumbnail suddenly I was like😮😮uriii holland? 😂Damn I'm so happy to see him here ❤️🥺
HEcking love Holland. Thanks for having him on Giggle~
Holland became even more pretty. How is that even possible???
to people wondering why we should care about an idol's sexuality:
in a perfect world, it shouldn't matter! it shouldn't matter that holland is gay, it shouldn't be novel or special. however, we DO NOT live in a perfect world and queerness is still frowned upon, discriminated against, and criminalized in most of the world. having pop culture figures be openly queer is huge in terms of representation and visibility for both gay kids like me and the international queer community as a whole. it reminds the general public and law makers that We Are Here! and We Have A Voice! and We Matter! Listen To Us. it also is so deeply meaningful and inspiring to be able to look at my favorite genres of music and media and see people like me working to bring themselves and their community into the spotlight.
ignoring or overlooking holland being gay is doing a disservice to him and his experiences as well as the experiences of queer people everywhere. you can't separate someone's identity from them- this is doubly true in his industry! as an artist, his work is inseparable from who he is- we all create through the lens of our own person. you will not be able to truly appreciate him or his music without acknowledging his identity and contextualizing what it means for him to be an openly gay kpop idol.
love you, holland!! harling will support you always
I really hope that soon idols just start dating publically and coming out/not hiding their sexual orientation etc. It is so shitty how people treat them. You can not say you are a fan or like someone but then not let them live their lives and be who they are. That is such abusive behaviour of "fans" and k-pop companies. Get yourself a doll or make a character in a computer game if you want to control someone but do not do that to another human being.
Be happy when someone dates and be happy when someone lives as their true self.
Yes That's right like still worry about sexuality and coming out in Korea although some are wide open but not too much and that's his goal is to know him more as what he is, either her or him is the fact that I'm glad that it's courageous enough as Korean society is somehow like disclosed like it pinpoints from this video. Holland is slaving every moment. Pretty and handsome.
Estoy taan feliz por él, espero que pueda cumplir todas las metas que se proponga, se merece todo lo bonito en esta vida!
So happy for him fr… I knew him before he came out and seeing him getting bigger is so cool 😭
I follow Holland but I didn’t even realize it was him LOL 😭 I followed him so long ago that I guess I forgot what he looked like 😂
