I made my way through the game sticking to the “free” side quest armors because I’m a resource hoarder. Lunda’s set shreds for sure! Great video and can’t wait to see more of your Ragnarok content!

What I like about your videos, and I know I’m late to the party on this, is that it takes a game where I feel like I’m drowning from too many choices and throws me a lifeline by explaining in-depth what those choices are and what they mean. I’m coming from the 2018 game and this seems like 100 times the size of that game.
I found the guardian shield to be the best parry tool. It is really great with follow up parries, which is where you block the first attack and parry the next attack. It is also great for learning to parry, because if you are too early you will either just block or have your guard broken while taking no or minimal damage.
@@hope4ourfallen dauntless is a good shield for most types of builds it looks like. I would use either dauntless or the og guardian shield. About the rond, in this build in specific I suggest one with lots of strength and luck.
For that poison build, using the wrath spartan rage and the boon of wrath would work well too because the enchantment makes it so when you activate your Spartans rage it consumes the status effect on an enemy and causes massive damage.

Will you also do a boss guide for GOD OF WAR: RAGNAROK? Personally, having just come from FORBIDDEN WEST, I was initially really confused about how to fight Nidhogg. That is until I realized that you're actually supposed to take it HEAD-ON!
Ok yeah I gotcha. I just thought maybe you meant 1 video that explains how to best bosses in general, which I don’t think would be very useful lol. Yeah I could maybe do boss guides. Problem is you have to play through to the point where you’re at each boss to get clips and record a tutorial. Kind of a pain lol
Honestly, I don't like either of the nidavellir builds because my play style is not suited to it. I like the Lunda build but I will use the radiance belt and wrists because bare handed attacks aren't very powerful so I'll do a realm shift attack bare handed to get the poison effect and then do runic attacks because since the radiance armour has more runic and I can efficiently use the lower defense of the enemies and the i frames of runic attacks to my advantage. Plus realm can really come in clutch sometimes and also I do a lot of parrying so I'll get the status effect anyway a lot so I don't need the extra damage from the Lunda wrist and waist armors. Anyways, great video. I watched your combat tips and incorporated them into my play style and it massively helps. Sorry for such a long comment
So i was using the full Lunda's build and the Lunda's/Dragon Scale build to great effect, but i just recently made a Sol's Spaulder/Fate Breaker wrist and waist build to do damage based on rage, and it works quite well also. Not to mention it offers good survivability.
Lunda's poison armor. When you have to shred bosses and elites expeditiously. Accept no substitutes. You continue to be the unsung hero of early and mid-game builds. Rock on witcha bad self.
I never understood these stats coz I'm such a dumbass hahaha always loved the format of your vids and how u explain the builds. Helps clueless people like me out 😂 keep em coming!
Great vid thanks bro! I’m a little past halfway through the game, and I’ve been struggling playing on Give me god of war mode. I’ve been using the Sol’s spaulders of courage as my main chest piece for that extra health bar because damn I need it lol!

What is the best way to build Kratos' overall level? I'm pretty far into the main game (past Heimdall, closing out Crater area). I'm still at level 5 and I am partial to the Lunda gear. I like to mix and match, but the trophy requirement is to fully upgrade one set of armor. So I don't want to waste a bunch of resources and haven't fully committed to anything. I just want to get his level up so I can stop having such a hard time with the "Hateful" things and especially the Berserkers.

Working on the late/end game builds video now! And no secret to my strength being high here. I just do a lot of side content and level up my gear often. I do generally prioritize the enchantments with a strength stat, so that helps a bit.

I find it that I truly am a balanced player with the default armor but I like to be more on offense while my perk stones have defense, just finding ways to add on to the default armors stats

Thanks! And yeah if you’re just starting your second trip to Vanaheim I’d say it’s worth upgrading this gear. You’ll be able to use it for a while. Plus you might even want to use it for the end game anyway.
I agree that's a nice build. Wouldn't consider it mid-game though since, like you said, you need to beat a few Beserkers to get the waist piece. I'd consider it more of a late game build, but if you can get it early, yeah totally go for it.
I got bored so I made my build pretty much all default gear Fimbulwinter armor, basic handles on leviathan and chaos, and the guardian shield, I didn't have the default spear handle or shield rond on tho
Perfect video once again! Once you poison enemies, does the 40% increase in melee damage from wrist and belt pieces come only from spear, blade, and axe attacks or can I keep using bare handed attacks to do that 40% increased damage?
I've been recently using Rond of Reflection to increase my parry window against bosses, trying to create a boss build. But I need to get that Rond of Purification.
For me strength and defense builds are about the most boring possible build. For early mid game like this video, I like to use the Radiance set, still pretty vanilla but pretty cool and useful effect in slow time dodges. But the first point of the game where I can make a built that really suits me is late mid game, right around when you get the Spear. Giptumadr armor for being able to use your Relic and Runic attacks more often, Radiance gauntlets so you can still do some fun stuff with quick dodges and slow time and the Berserker Waist for even more Relic use and the great stats on it. With focus on stats like Runic, cooldown and luck.
Yup! However, the perk on the Lunda chest piece makes bare-handed attacks most effective overall. Plus you don’t have to waste time switching weapons if you just keep going bare-handed.
I think the Lunda cuirass was moved. I can't seem to find it. I have the gauntlet and waist gear? Anyone know if this is true or did I do something wrong?
So there’s 2 ways to increase your health bar. Boost the vitality stat or find Idunn Apples. I do a lot of exploring and side quests as I play, so I find a lot of apples.
I wish I caught the bad reviews before buying this game. Damn are they right! I thought this game was going to be so much better than it was. It feels like 70% forced movie watching and 30% actual game play. You are forced to spend so much time watching videos and there is only 1 way of travel and puzzles are forced upon you. When you can actually play the game itself the combat is fun, but in many ways broken.
This. This is why the 2018 version and Ragnarok are shit. God Of War has always been (and always should be) hack and slash. There are thousands of RPG's out there with all this armour, enchantment, runic shit. If I was ever a fan of them, I'd have played them. However, I'm not a fan of them so basically what has happened is, my absolute favourite gaming franchise has been ruined by the introduction of these mechanics. I loved the God Of War series. Loved. Now, I have to force myself to play it for half an hour. Nothing but disappointment here. Corey Barlog once siad in an interview about God Of War 2, 'I don't want to be known as the guy that killed God Of War', well for me, you did it in 2018.

What shield rond do you use with your lunda armor? I am using the dauntless shield but don't know what rond to go with🤷♂️

Best mid game armor is radiance chest peice, guiding light wrest peice and bserker weast peice
This build depends on how good you are in the game because you at least have to defeat 4 starting bserker's the at least 4

Vitality increase your HP a bit. It’s generally better to focus on defense over vitality.

You can use the shatter star if you’d like. It will work with the Lunda gear. I’d prefer to stick with the Dauntless though.

Ah well I do all the side content I can and loot as much as I can to get upgrade resources. Upgrading your gear increases stats a lot.

It should still be in the Veiled Passage Cave near the Goddess Falls. I got it from the chest again in another save a few days ago.
