I have the same kayak. I added 3 more railblaza mounts. One of them is a cleat as well. I use the same divers retractable rope system for my anchor, except I use a 2KG dumbbell I got from Amazon. It's coated in rubber so it doesn't rust in salt water. The dumbbell digs into sand and mud due its its shape, but doesn't snag on rocks. It held me and another kayak attached to my kayak in place in a strong out going tide current without issue. I use the cleat mount to wrap the anchor rope around - allows me to keep the retractable system in my kayak rather then leaving it in the water like you do. I've also got a side mounted transom from railblaza as well. Haven't tested that yet. I hope it will have enough control authority as steering from the rear is uncomfortable after a while. Also, fighting fish and pulling them out of structure would be so much easier if I didn't need to reach behind me mid fight.
Yea unless you are sitting on the side the rear mount is inconvenient but I'm happy to sit on the side.i wouldn't mind 2 more mounts. 2 for rods, one for camera and one for fish finder. Did you do the process where you mix your own adhesive?
For the pump I'm using basically a workshop leaf blower. A mini leaf blower for your shed etc that has pump attachments. Motor, probably one from anaconda, a Watersnake. Make sure you check what lbs thrust you h Can have legally in your state to not have to register the kayak. Sounder, Garmin's Striker 4+ seems good. Affordable and also has a mount for the transducer to go onto the trolling motor.
Just got one too mate, absolutely loving it with a 44lb watersnake and 100amp kings slimline battery (that I'm going to set up to charge off a dcdc charger in my car). looking into a similar anchor setup, cheers for the tips and for sharing
Thanks for the video was looking at buying one ive never really fished this way but would love to give it a go. Would be good if there was a group in nsw that go out together
I've had one 6 months and im overall impressed with it. What thrust motor you using? Also if you didn't know, the Garmin striker fish finders come with a loop tie system to mount transducer to your trolling motor. I think its pretty neat!
Just got mine today. Super impressed, will be perfect chasing the whiting here in Gippsland and be a super cheap fishing trip. What lipo would you recommend? Have the 44lb water snake. Keep up the vids, love them. Cheers mate
I got the one from adventure kings with a battery box last black friday. I can't remember the price, but I've trolled with it for 2 days and not have it gone flat.
Thats so cool, very portable awsome setup, launch anywhere! The trawler motor is a very cool addition i bet that 120ah battery lasts ages 👍. Boom arm fish finder lets go get a tuna! 😂
Yea I have a couple of fish finders that my old man gave me, I need to either get an arm for the transducer or rig one up. Also thinking of getting a 2x4 across the motor mount and mounting rod holders or sounder to that
@yep.fishing awsome! Can't wait to see you marking up some big arches! Fishing is starting to go crazy in PPB, no one can get out and fish in this wind though 🤣. That just means more bigger fish will make it to the water outlets to spawn 👍.
I'd be happy to sound up stuff just to up my catch rate. Don't think I'm going to be getting any monsters in this thing, when it comes to salt water I'm a bit hesitant in an inflatable to head too far from shore.
@@yep.fishingI’d to happy to stay in the estuaries like around Barwon Heads and Gippsland lakes area. And where you’ve done your videos in Warrnambool harbour. Even around Corio Bay.
Good evening. I’ve got a couple of questions. Thank you for the video. It is a great help on deciding if I’m going to purchase one of these. My question is. Is there anywhere to try one out ? The only reason is I have a few medical issues and don’t want to buy one without seeing if the body can handle it. I know I can add a motor but want to see if I can paddle it without one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Great vid, looking forward to picking mine up. Hope it's not too heavy. Have I been using the wrong end of anchor ? Which is the correct end to tie to ? Cheers
If you have this type of pivoting sand anchor you want to attach it like I did mine, or you could attach it to the point end and then cable tie the chain to the other end, this can help of you get the anchor snagged (never happened to me but from what I hear) you can pull it enough to break the cable tie and then be able to pull the anchor from the pointy end.
I would be putting a d shackle on your anchor. Expensive bit of kit to loose with that dodgy carabiner. Great vid tho. I'm thinking of upgrading mine in the next year or so.
Great question, I know you would need to register it if the LB thrust is over a certain level (I think over 37lb from memory). If it's lower then I'm pretty sure you don't need registration or licence. I already had a licence so didn't look into it.
Hey man I'm looking at picking 1 up at BCF on special for $999 where did you get one for $750? Aren't they BCF exclusive? RRP is $1399 if you can point me in a cheaper direction will be much appreciated 😄
I've got a hobie 17t on a trailer but still want one of these. It just seems like an easy way to get out on the water.
Yes and no, still gotta lug it downs to the water and blow it up. Has pros and cons

This is what I was looking for, sound exactly like what I will be doing. Just got a predator too. Did you add chain to the dive reel cord?
Yes, I believe it’s 1.2m, got it from Bunnings
Been waiting for this vid, as I've seen it a few videos and have been considering getting one, thx mate!
Yea a few people have asked so I thought it was time to just make a dedicated video
Great tips for the anchor mate. Getting one soon, thanks.
Thanks. i hope to film another one soon featuring depth sounder
@ just about to spend up on a heap of gear. Any recccos for electric motor, portable pump, gps fish finder?

Cheers for the review. Been looking at one of these for a while.
No problem, don't be afraid to ask for a discount. I think they might be wanting to get rid of them soon
@@yep.fishing oooo good to hear $999 is a stretch for me at the moment. Did you end up getting a discount?
Yeah I did but I think they had too much stock...worth asking I think but I just got lucky

Great, is the king's battery LI? I have a slimline king's 100 in AGM and it's very hewvy
ye went with the lithium, couldnt be stuffed lugging and agm around 😂
Yea might be ok in a trailer boat but not in a kayak
Very nice setup, thanks for the review!
Thanks Larry!
I’ve seen some people here using it too, looks like a good alternative to the conventional kayaks!
I haven't come across someone else with one yet, then again I usually try and avoid fishing where others are.

There is definitely Australian kayak fishing groups on Facebook so maybe you can find someone through that.

Hi, when I purchased mine they had one on display in store which is probably the closest you're going to get to being able to test it.

No worries

Yes good suggestion, I got the carabiners for free and had them on hand so that was why.
Coooooool...I need one
Yes they are really versatile and handy to have. I got lucky that the local shop was trying to clear them and I got it for I think 750 or something.
Can I ask do you need a boat licence if you have a water snake motor ?

@@yep.fishing not, not really, but thank you.
No problem :)
What kind of knot have you used for the anchor, rope to chain?
Palomar knot, then some heat shrink over the tag
@@yep.fishing thanks mate
Any time
Does the Aussie version of predator comes with baby oil?
I want something like this, but it need to hold two man.
It will carry 1000 200ml bottles of baby oil
It can hold 2 people as long as it’s not you and me. Diddy and Bieber would fit no problem and be under the 200kg limit.
@@yep.fishing I'm thorn on this I really wanted a vessel for 2 person that isn't a ONLY seat in deal, but I need 300kg minimum weight capacity.
I have an Intex mariner inflatable boat also, I think that is atleast 300kg
Could I use in the sea? Or is there restrictions with where you could use?
Yes you can, I use mine, I have a few videos using it in salt water. As long as no sharks attack it!
@@yep.fishing I’m willing to take that risk lol, cheers mate!
Cheaper alternative to a big Hobie style kayak. Even if the side got punctured I'm pretty sure the base would keep you afloat

I got it from BCF but I think they had excess stock and weren't moving any at the time so I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
Thanks for the tip my local has 3 in stock and it's not a busy store.
Maybe ask the manager to see what he can do
Need more PLZ
What do you want to see?
Would u fish this in inshore reef?
Yea definitely, as long as you don't hit the bottom! I'm planning on doing that over the next 4 months or so
How much does it cost and where do I buy it?
It costs $999 from BCF, don’t be afraid to ask for a better deal. Maybe I got lucky but I think I paid 799 and it might have launched at 1199.
I've got one for sale only used it ones. Come with electric motor 120 amp lithium baterry launch trolley life jack heaps of other stuff
I think I saw this on Facebook marketplace?
@@yep.fishing I haven't advertised mine yet
Hopefully you should be able to sell it. Attach this video to the ad :p
