Thanks mate appreciate it. We only have black bream here, I’m about 2 hours from the SA border in Vic. In eastern vic they have yellows. This was from a closed estuary system that occasionally opens. Maybe the lighting post production made it look like a yellow?

@@yep.fishing The colour variations in Bream are quite amazing. The bright sunlight plus being very low down in the system combined to make that last fish look very cool and it fooled me. Great to see the kids involved too.

if only we had yellows, my experience and from what I hear is that they are much more aggressive and less finicky

I can’t remember, this video is from last year but someone wanted to see it. I personally don’t go lower than 2.5g generally speaking. I have this on a rod now for heavier stuff like 4g and over and use other reels for the lighter stuff.

Yea I guess that’s an under appreciated aspect of baitcasters. I grew up on right hand wind as that seemed to be the norm for Australia. I cast left handed, I write left handed but throw a ball right handed.

A new budget BFS rod the Yuzhiren Shore Game paired with the Kyorim Black Knight 2 BFS reel with 2lb Trout Magnet Mono line casts the 2.5g soft plastic lure. this reel is available on AliExpress. I don’t recommend this rod, only rod so far where the tip has split

I usually have the brake setting at the 5th dot (the dots that get larger. So around the 9 o’clock position or a tad less. Have the spool tension just enough so there is a fraction of side to side play as you wiggle the spool with your thumb

It’s great for structure, throwing those casts into snags. No way would I be able to cast as well with spin

Beautiful that’s awesome. It’s a pretty cool combo for the price. I think the silver feather air is at a great price right now around 125. I really like the spurs rod, it’s about 130 right now. I cannot say for certain that spurs is better than an elf, zero or fox hunting. All are 7’6 and have slightly different actions. I’d probably lean towards the spurs because it’s $50 cheaper than the others and just as good if not better.

Yes the reel he is using is coming to the Australian market. He is obviously trying to promote the reel and making people aware before its eventual release.

Yea surely when the SLX BFS gets launched in Australia he will use it a bunch of times and hopefully that will lead to UL and L BFS rods from Shimano hitting our stores. Abu have one and Daiwa will have one soon too.

BFS, plenty of applications in Australia and not just Japan. Any river where you are casting at snags the baitcaster is better. Wading in creeks and rivers for trout also BFS. I believe our native freshwater species are best targeted with baitcasters. Everyone uses BCs for Cod and Barra, why not BFS for yellow belly, silver perch etc?

@@yep.fishing Yes, but I don't really know the gentleman, but maybe Shimano is his go to brand, either way wouldn't be my first choice, other than the Aldebaran all seem to be more power BFS than BFS.

That guy probably has more experience fishing then the sum of all the people in these comments section. As with everything new there's a learning curve and I applaud someone for filming their very first outing and seeing how it goes.

@yep.fishing No, I'm in the US, thanks for asking. Pretty much the same here on the rod lengths. I think this year is going to be another awsome year for BFS releases in all categories, but especially reels again. Everytime i say im going to cut back, a awesome reel comes out or a high quality low budget rod. There goes the money again.

Let’s hope so. I’d really love to see Tsurinoya bring out a new reel. Also wouldn’t it be cool if someone bought out drag stars and spool tension knobs in other colours for CDM reels.

Yes his issue was using a heavier rod that he should have. Unless Shimano release a lighter casting rod in Australia he might not be able to use it for promotional reasons

Yes he changed rods, you can see in the into to the video. Sounds like an older version of the same rod but he didn’t mention the specs.

A fair few people seem to not like him. I got really nothing against him as a TH-cam angler, I’ve critiqued more of Alan Bonicci’s stuff more to be honest.
