@@AdamKilpatrick yes. i just sold a. 8.4m pilot house trailerboat. It was just too much work to tow and clean and maintain and launch etc. Im seriously considering pulling the trigger on one of these (they are cheap!) its just the best way to power it now......

Nice vid mate, I bought one but haven't tried it out yet. Feeling keen now after watching. I was wondering about the fin but sounds like it needs to be fitted so cheers for that. Got a 54lb electric to throw on the back so it should scoot along nicely.
Ive only had 1 kayak, its a pryml one the still stock, a grey one. Its agile and fast but obviously youd have to sacrifice stability. Id rather have more stability. If I have anything stored behind the chair in it O shit myself when I reach to grab anything. This seems to fit the bill
Been pretty good so far and had no problems. The material is pretty tough. I personally carry a plastic pop out container to use when bringing fish in, sorting crabs and cutting bait. Haven’t had a issue but no need to push my luck lol 😂
Hi Adam I know you have answered plenty but is it hard to paddle against wind etc compared to a more narrow inflatable kayak. I have paddled my wife’s double Kings inflatable kayak which isn’t as wide and that was okay and $200. This is a lot more expensive but much more stable and I am leaning this way. Just need to know it can be paddle quite easy. PS I am a big bloke and the better back support of the seat interests me. Many Thanks
Being so light it paddles quite easily, the fin underneath is vital for tracking. Haven’t had any problems paddling up wind. I also use the electric outboard which makes a very casual session fishing
G’day Adam, Great video and super informative! I’ve got this on my Christmas Wishlist from the boss this year but I have a couple of questions that I wouldn’t mind your advice for please. I’m a biggish dude as well … currently at about 130kg and I’ve always wanted a kayak. The weight rating and stability of the this one and the fact that it’s inflatable is super convenient. However, I don’t fish (please don’t judge haha!) How do you think it would go as a casual/recreational kayak? I’ve heard fishing kayaks are a little slower/harder to manoeuvre in faster waters but if I ever got caught out I’d be keen on investing in a small battery powered motor. Cheers mate!
This kayak is definitely oversized and designed to carry a load. I take the kids out in it just for a paddle and a look around. The boat it’s self is super stable and with the fin on the bottom tracks through the water and turns really well to the point that it surprised me. Adding a motor and a battery pack is super lazy and I am all for it! Lol it makes it a super fun day. But make sure you take your paddle to help turning and as a back up. In general the kayak is slower but manoeuvres fine. It’s easy to set up and pack up and super stable. I also got a SUP PADDLE and can stand up and paddle around. Hope that helps and you get out on the water
@@AdamKilpatrick Mate, this information is great! Thanks for taking the time out to answer my question. Haha yeh the motor idea is a little lazy but it will generally be as a back up plan when the strong afternoon sea breeze kicks in over here in Perth!
Great review mate. I'm similar size to you. Do you think it would take a second seat in the front if my wife and I wanted to use it for the odd tandem paddle? (Probably 130kg in the back and 70kg in the front)?
It’s rated to 200kg but not recommended for more than one person. But in saying that I’ve taken myself and my two boys out for a paddle in it no problems and have loaded it up with fishing gear with no hassles
Still love it. It’s been solid as a rock and great fun. I did get a collapsible tub to use when bringing fish in and for using knife. But that in my mind was just the smart thing to do. As the weather warms up you’ll see it in more videos and in considering using it for a spearfishing trip. I’m also considering getting a 12volt pump for it and been looking at a SUP
Hey mate,Im seriously thinking about getting one of these. They havent sold well over here in WA, any reasons? They seem to tick all the boxes Any issues at all with yours?
I think they haven’t sold well everywhere. There is a stigma about inflatables that people think low quality and cheap (AKA a piece of crap). The reality is that inflatables are used for yachts tenders, pack rafting and whitewater rafting if they are made from the right materials. So far I haven’t had any issues at all with mine. It’s solid and light in the water and can hold a load of gear. It’s easy to transport and easy to set and pack up. I personally have hard body Viking kayak as well and love it but the Predator fits for some locations and tips way better and I honestly haven’t had a issue with it at all and as you said it ticked all the boxes. I hope that helps
I use a 34lbs thrust watersnake with a lithium power pack purely because is what I have already. I thing even a cheap 18lbs thrust would push if ok but it’s always better to have a bit extra
hi adam kilpatrick, you'll never guess but my names is james kilpatrick and i have problems with fishing addictions also, big up from northern ireland 👍👍👍
I didn’t pay that price. They do specials when the are under $1000. The quality is definitely worthy of the price tag though. They are made from good materials and solid on the water. It kind of messes with my head because it is a really good boat to paddle, super stable and easy to use. To buy a high quality inflatable kayak or pack yak your normally looking well over $2000.
Fair enough, that’s your choice, the only one missing out here is you and that doesn’t effect my day at all. I still run with my Viking Kayak because they are awesome but needed a travel yak for certain trips we do. We researched the boat and this surprisingly ticked all the boxes then surpassed our expectations.
