Hey folks! We covered Proving Grounds last week (which is pretty underwhelming) so I spent the last week testing Circle of Slaughter! Hope this is helpful for those who are diving into the end game
Serious question here... I've ran prob 40 hours of slaughter shaft... the COV one, tons if legendaries got some annointed weapons, gave some away... but where the hell is the loot chess in there? I know where the 3000 one is it's easy to find and I've never done the one with the creatures, but seriously I've looked a couple different times for it and never found it.
It's worth noting the cistern of slaughter is locked until you've been to Eden 6, even though it's on Promethea. Just stops players seeing enemies earlier than they show up in the story.
When I played the Slaughterhouse 3000 I didn’t know you could leave the arena to replenish ammo so when I got to the end with my Zane build and ran out of ammo I had to use my clone & drone combo to take out the bosses while I ran laps trying not to go into FFYL lol
best way to farm is to keep repeating round 5. do 4 waves die and repeat again. round 5 can get crazy with loot drops. you will have about 100 legends on the floor after an hour.
I feel the loot is best in Circle of Slaughter vs Slaughter Star 3000 but I like the Maliwan arena better. I think the enemies are more interesting (less rockets and anointed too haha).
@@jbfp_ He says the Maliwan circle of slaughter is better compared to the COV one located on Pandora, because the enemies in COV just spam rockets, which is fucking annoying.
Dude this was the best borderlands international video I watched since launch. Your the first youtuber I I seen so far that actually said it's ok to lower the difficulty. That always made more sense to me.
@@MrTomkat030 yeah but like he said, if the difficulty to hard for you then just play on a lower one for now and build up to it. Some people think it's better to play on difficulty that there character not ready for thinking they'll get loot faster. But that's actually the slowest way to do.
I have a moze build with vampyr grenades. I use a electric recurring hex with a bloodletter and transformer shield. My main gun is the flakker. As long as I throw gernades, I can walk through the slaughter star without being downed. The only time it doesn't work is when you get to blue fire and red rain, the hex gernade does not work well on bosses for some reason, so regeneration is brought to a halt. The wall on the left side is good cover against the bomb barrage, just peak out shoot and then duck behind cover. Red rain there is a overhang on the second floor, so you make his missile barrage and guns practically useless. He will hit you with a jump move that deals 20k damage to my shields. Thankfully he doesn't spam it repeatedly before it fully regens. Also there is a bug with the bosses where the loot gets stuck on the platforms they're one. You cannot jump to them to retrieve the legendaries you can cleary see when defeating them. In terms of legendaries drops, there is not many, somewhere around 4-8 per full run. The one thing it is good for is gaurdian ranks. I'm in the 150's and I still get 6-8 ranks per full run.
Here is a build that worked great for me when I did TVMM3 solo. Zane with clone and barrier for dome and shock. Use points for freeze on crits. Then use the Storm sniper rifle. If shoots balls which shocks enemies using... crits. That freezes the mobs while the orbs continue to shock them into oblivion.
Prismatic raak change which element they are immune to with a big nova, depending on what you shot them with. Hit with fire, they explode in a big fireball and now they deal fire and take no fire damage. Blue Fire and Red Rain expose a massive red weakpoint in their chest when you break one of their joints. Shoot that while they're stunned.
I didn't realize each circle of slaughter had its own difficulties. I started off with Slaughterstar 3000 and then moved on to the COV one. I had to watch this video to find the third (and apparently easiest) slaughter that was tucked away within Meridan Complex. I was thinking it was getting easier for a weird reason, now I know why 😂

yesterday i cleared all 3 on Mayhem 3. only slaughter shaft had good drops. got over 20 legendaries in that 5 rounds while in the others i only got 3 each
I always carry Homing grenades that split into 2 grenades and explode up to 3 times if im playing solo. Helps a ton with the flying Raks and helps with crowd control. Trust me, you'll never go back to regular grenades ever again.

cistern of slaughter has a broken mechanic/exploit, you can lure the rak into the lift, take it to the top and trap them, they don't attack you back and are frozen on the spot lol
I no longer need ammo. If you have moze and invest into the bottomless mags perk with COV weapons, you will never run out of ammo so is good for these arenas.
is anyone having problems joining a game? i cant join one all i see is that the game is searching for people but it never does even though i spent close to 15 minutes waiting each time, im pc someone help!
@@dl30wpb yes a lot of people are playing this game but the lot drops and xp are far better if you play offline completely disconnected from the internet so most people are doing that
BL1: I hate the moxxi dome so much, but at least i get a skill point, so that is plus so ill force myself to do them. BL2: i hate circle of slaughters but at least they have moxxi weapons so ill force myself to do them. BL3: YES CIRCLE OF SLAUGHTERS, time to farm this over and over, i dont want to do anything else! Gearbox figured out how to get to do circle of slaughter arenas and love doing it, thank you gearbox
I feel the loot nerf really crippled the Maliwan circle of slaughter I pretty much get 1 or 2 legendaries for the match were the bandit circle gives me ton’s of legendaries
Yeah there are better ways to farm loot but it still felt rewarding before the nerf now it’s rare to see much loot in the Maliwan circle of slaughter in comparison to the bandit one.
I think for each bonus objectives you do, loot is dropped from the sky. I seen that happening in my creature slaughter as he was listing off my bonus objectives at the end with badass mouth guitar solo.
Ive done the Shaft countless times but it only gives me the shaft .. If your lucky and get a loot tink to spawn Glitch his backpack thats your golden ticket
Anyone else getting bugged enemies stuck in the walls in slaughtershaft? Its so fucking annoying I've had to restart my run mid game several times already because the stupid ass anoited enemies that teleport end up getting stuck in a wall or box and I can't reach them not even with a hex grenade or flakker shotgun its drving me crazy 😡

i ALMOST won on mayhem 3 with moze ...but was done in by a badass with a rocket launcher!!! i focuzed on splash for my weapons but yet i still failed but had fun!!!!
I finished the main story campaign earlier last week. After logging back in the other day, I forgot to skip the tutorial. Do I now have to replay the campaign in order to reach such places?
While maliwan is most fun to do cause less bullshit, its the worst loot wise. Im gonna put cistern of slaughter in the middle because rounds with rakk or or the flying bugs seem to fly a bit too high and it draws the round out longer than it needs to be. The slaughter shaft is the best loot wise but by far the worst due to how strong the bandit faction is and how frequently they nerf things the player has. I dont like complaining about difficulty but if they could turn explosives down a bit and reduce screen fog when being shot by rocket launchers cause there is alot of spam there it would be nice
There's a container i usually sit behind and recover shield/health, then jump up on it again.. safe and nice :P It's when u come from the spawn and push the plunger you continue straight forward.
only Pandora's Slaughter Shaft has decent drops. Still not as efficient as Graveward farming but more fun. The rest ain't close to worth it. Good to focus on cryo. Makes dealing with those rocket launching badass much easier
Idk, with close to 15% luck and the luck relic... I get around 40 or more legendaries in the 15 to 20 min run of slaughter shaft... how many you get from grave in 20 mins? And I'm legit asking... cause I've done both and thought this was way quicker and I didnt have to reload over and over on the boss this way.
@@moarblood5120 i'd say a little over 20 for graveward...im getting 10-15 leg in shaft...but i have nothing invested in luck yet nor gear.are you playing offline?
Appreciate it man, was really curious cause hell I could be wrong it just didn't feel like quite as much and I hated reloading constantly... but it seems roughly the same, I can go 2 full rounds with only one or two dropping on occasion and other times I kill 8 people in a group and 3 legendaries drop lol
@@moarblood5120 likewise. shaft needs reloading too to avoid some mayhem mods. graveward is nice for chillin and netflix on 2nd screen and classmods....i feel like i get more anointed in shaft tho but not sure
Did they buff the slaughter star 3000 bosses? I did them with a friend a while ago on TVHM MH3 and we had both down in under a minute not even going for the crit zones. I used a double penetrating Kill-o-the-wisp, Skeksil, Lyuda and night hawkin if I remember correctly. Also Mirv or Recurring Hex with either shock or radiation damage are really good there.
Does anyone else find Amara's 'phasegrasp' hard to get enemies with? Like it has poor aim assist kinda thing? Really struggle with it in fast play compared to Maya's phaselock in BL2.
I feel like anointed Tinks are just the worst thing to fight. Tons of health, teleports everywhere, size changes etc. Like who the duck thought it was a fun enemy to fight
Anointed militant is always immune to all damage. Literally took me five minutes to kill him because he wouldnt stop. Anointed all around need a little change. I am okay with some tougher ones but a grenade that sticks to you and sucks all your life is kinda dumb.
Mate, I hate coming across them especially when you’re playing solo. I’m dying and about to kill a psycho and then an anointed gets in the way and ruins it 😂😖
For me, one of the bosses spawns, but I didn't have to fight it. The doors to the arena opened and the chest in the middle was unlocked. You can still engage the boss but the round effectively ends. I've never killed these bosses yet I've got the achievement for completing all the Circles of Slaughter. I did it under Mayhem I, so not sure if it's a glitch or intentional.
Iam having a issue with slaughter shaft i get to round 3 and at the end of round 3 there always one dudr left and is glitched under the map and can never finish???
If the people are actually stuck under the map, which has happened to me once, you can use grenades that have the blackhole feature and it sucks them out of the ground, I found this out after waiting 15 minutes for the game to move on.
Playing Borderlands3 gives you a level of dissatisfaction despite numerous options which resembles the internet and the bombardment of media/ information coming your way but in a controlled fashion so don't get lost in the farm; enjoy the end game and learn the art of extraction
titan at the end must be bugged for me cuz when it spawns the head is always poped off, also cant get the last bonus that way need to enrage 5 of them and titan is always the 5th one
@@final3119 basically I had so many legendary from slaughter shaft u couldn't turn without it popin in your face no rainin firestorm however I have the duelin and the recurring hex and every op gun in the game
@@TugaTriping mine freaks out and cant handle it. The noise stutter and stops or, more often, becomes loud and repeats a single millisecond of sound a thousand times.

If it's gambling it should be progressive gambling. Like less lame shit after a certain level. If you have a bank full of anointed God rolls, you should get mostly anointed items. A high Guardian rank and hours played would be the prerequisite to qualify. And no cap on skill points, we should be able to max out all three skill trees after the game has been out for a while. Guardian rank would apply here too. Veteran rewards.
@@CoryBloomfield I got lucky and got several crossroads (most elements) doing a short offline loot tink farm (I try to only do it when I'm really bored and am looking for specific world drops)
So u can only unlock circle of slaughter after u complete the story in ur first playthrough ? And can u do so if uve set ur game to 'Local' aka offline ?
theyre unlocked through storry mode you just have to get to the area first... no need in beating the story to play just got to open up the area on the map
from what I've seen you just go to the area and through the "door"...ive never played offline so idk but i would assume so since it's an area in the game, i play alone so i know it will "let" you do it by yourself... beating it haven't tried it yet slowly working on beating tvhm i pretty much play when i get bored of Ark at this point
Slaughterstar 3000...3 f...c...k...n... hours! Ridiculously hard and got very few legendaries (Mayhem 1). Ammo was a bitch because some enemies take 39 headshots to kill! I DID however get 2 (OMG!) Flakkers!!!!
Absolutely in no way should you ever enter these things solo either. They cannot be beaten solo. Forget it. it will not happen unless you are some 1% of the 1% god mode game players.

I played this with a new player and ranked up fast and had lovely weapons for the story

When you loon at builds make sure you use them like them a single player build sometimes stand no chance in multiplayer

I dont think alot of people are playing this game... I rarely find matches and when I do it's never a full group of 4.

Chupacabratch offline. I've gotten just about every good legendary gun from him, including lyudas.

I feel like anointed Tinks are just the worst thing to fight. Tons of health, teleports everywhere, size changes etc. Like who the duck thought it was a fun enemy to fight
Anointed militant is always immune to all damage. Literally took me five minutes to kill him because he wouldnt stop. Anointed all around need a little change. I am okay with some tougher ones but a grenade that sticks to you and sucks all your life is kinda dumb.
Mate, I hate coming across them especially when you’re playing solo. I’m dying and about to kill a psycho and then an anointed gets in the way and ruins it 😂😖
No mayhem TVHM slaughter shaft round 2 is literally only anointed enemies and badasses like wtf

What? I've done slaughter star 3000 several times and I've never had the bosses spawn
For me, one of the bosses spawns, but I didn't have to fight it. The doors to the arena opened and the chest in the middle was unlocked. You can still engage the boss but the round effectively ends. I've never killed these bosses yet I've got the achievement for completing all the Circles of Slaughter. I did it under Mayhem I, so not sure if it's a glitch or intentional.
Iam having a issue with slaughter shaft i get to round 3 and at the end of round 3 there always one dudr left and is glitched under the map and can never finish???
If the people are actually stuck under the map, which has happened to me once, you can use grenades that have the blackhole feature and it sucks them out of the ground, I found this out after waiting 15 minutes for the game to move on.

If it's gambling it should be progressive gambling. Like less lame shit after a certain level. If you have a bank full of anointed God rolls, you should get mostly anointed items. A high Guardian rank and hours played would be the prerequisite to qualify. And no cap on skill points, we should be able to max out all three skill trees after the game has been out for a while. Guardian rank would apply here too.

We changed from mayhem 3 to mayhem 2 for legendary farming. Pulling way more loot now
So u can only unlock circle of slaughter after u complete the story in ur first playthrough ? And can u do so if uve set ur game to 'Local' aka offline ?
theyre unlocked through storry mode you just have to get to the area first... no need in beating the story to play just got to open up the area on the map

from what I've seen you just go to the area and through the "door"...ive never played offline so idk but i would assume so since it's an area in the game, i play alone so i know it will "let" you do it by yourself... beating it haven't tried it yet slowly working on beating tvhm i pretty much play when i get bored of Ark at this point

Slaughterstar 3000...3 f...c...k...n... hours! Ridiculously hard and got very few legendaries (Mayhem 1). Ammo was a bitch because some enemies take 39 headshots to kill! I DID however get 2 (OMG!) Flakkers!!!!
use flak with a corrosive call and those bosses from 3000 are stupid easy

Absolutely in no way should you ever enter these things solo either. They cannot be beaten solo. Forget it. it will not happen unless you are some 1% of the 1% god mode game players.
