    Awesome, thanks for doing this. Just need some more practice with scaling and if i opened the photo that's called "Evgeny" it doesn't shows it big, but just little. So i had to make that picture bigger, and that made the quality not good. Do you maybe know how this comes? Maybe it can help me in the future.

    Been following you in some tutorials (very good BTW) as I transition from Photoshop to GIMP... I noticed when activating a tool you are getting a nice popup dialog box... Is there a setting to achieve this.. OR are you simply using the keyboard shortcut to get that dialogue box? Thanks... PS keep up the good tutorials, especially like the two part Face in a Frame.. that was terrific...

    • @PhotoAdvanced
      @PhotoAdvanced  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Donald Garrison Thank you for your comment. Color tools appear as a popup dialog box when you select them. Not all the tools have these. If you want to learn more about GIMP interface - you can search my channel for these two videos - "Toolbox, Dock Dialogs Basics - GIMP 2.8 Beginners' Guide ep6" and "Setting Up Your Workspace - GIMP 2.8 Beginners' Guide ep5". • @madisonwashington3517

    ORRR you can do it the easy way cuttin the face out with the scissors and then hitting COPY and pasting the face on the other face Lol then u resize it, Last but not least use the eraser and the "smudge" to make the edges connect and look realistic. TAAAADAAAAA

    When I use the Gaussian Blur, the parts I've masked already actually reappear, looking slightly semitransparent but showing quite obviously where I cropped the image :(

    • @PhotoAdvanced
      @PhotoAdvanced  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      keepXonXrockin I think you may be using too much Gaussian Blur. Try with a lower value.

      ***** When I was trying to match a really bright or dark green color with a regular colored face, the green was still clearly visible in the end and I followed you steps completely. It just added a slight peach color over the green face but it was still clearly green.

    • @PhotoAdvanced
      @PhotoAdvanced  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shahid, when you are adding a layer mask, make sure to select white (full opacity) from the dialog. Also, there is an option at the bottom of the dialog - "invert mask". Make sure this is not selected.

    • @PhotoAdvanced
      @PhotoAdvanced  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amazin Raz Hi, try swapping the foreground and background colors, if you are painting with black, try painting with white (depending on what layer mask you have added). Make sure you click on the layer mask to make it active. If again nothing is happening, save your project and restart GIMP. Sometimes it just bugs, it's happened to me a few times lately.

    I'm sorry, but I'm still confused. You start off the tutorial with an image on the screen - actually I think you have two side by side. You don't tell us where those images are, where from the computer you got them.
    I wish you'd started from absolute zero. There really are dirt beginners needing to know the very very ultra basics.
    I need, desperately, to put one guys face over another guys face for a friend.
    I wish your tutorial really helped me to do that.
    I realize that you've got it down well, and that's great.
    Getting the 'how to' across well to ultra beginners is a very different matter.
    Good journey.
